Kellon Moore, Dallas OC, supposedly interested in Coaching Vikings per twitter

Adam Patrick
@Str8_Cash_Homey
#Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is rumored to have interest in becoming the next #Vikings head coach

(Per

I would be ok with that.

I also. Then land Flores if he doesn't get a HC gig.

Rumblings of Jeff Fisher as GM/coach.

Hopefully, those are just rumblings.

PA is plugged in. Heard it on his show.

Bright side is they should have the #1 overall pick multiple times.

At least Fisher has led teams deep into the playoffs and even a Super Bowl. I wouldn't hate it.

No retreads please.

Though to be honest I will just keep an open mind. I don't want to get all worked up about one or two guys then end up upset/disappointed with who we take.

Exactly. I’m burned out on coach frustration. Even if they hire someone I don’t like … they get an offseason pass to see what direction we’re headed before I start any teeth gnashing. At least extreme teeth gnashing.

On a side note … just the fact that the team cleaned house removes a lot of rancor … I feel less urgency over Cousins being moved this offseason … I still prefer a trade but since I dont think thats going to happen … if it helps the new coach with continuity year one, fine.

No Fisher please. A GM/Coach is an incredibly bad idea. I want a coach whose football background is in this century.

We're not bringing in Fisher. He's the very definition of mediocre, hasn't coached in 6 years and can't even land the job at East Tennessee State.

He's beyond done as a high profile coach.

Don't take Matt's bait.

Every GM the Vikes have on their radar seem younger....Coach is a little different but Pederson, Kiffin, Moore.....that is a good start. If you don't see/hear those three sign on it is good for the Vikes as each wants the job first.

Pederson and Moore are a good start. Kiffen is a non starter.

Kiffen would make training camp a media circus likely get the Vikings on Hard Knocks.

Whoever our new head coach is, I hope he's wants and is able to hire Fangio as DC.

I'll pass on that. Fangio is from an era long gone.

At least for the GM position, it looks like the Vikings are taking my advice and pursuing someone with CFL experience:

Raîche, in her third season with the Eagles, was promoted to her current role in May 2021 after being a football operations/player personnel coordinator. The Montreal native had been an assistant GM with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes (2017), where she also served as coordinator of football administration (2015-17). She also worked as director of football administration for the Toronto Argonauts (2018-19).

Given her role as player personnel coordinator, the first question should be, "What was your role in the decision to draft Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson?"

Marty,
Montreal nosedived while she was there, ending at 3-15. Toronto won the Grey Cup, she shows up and they proceed to be a 4-14 dumpster. Not part of a CFL team with a winning record.

Some advice

Aaron Wilson of SportsTalk 790 reports that Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is in consideration for the Bears, Vikings, and Giants.

McDaniels won't take interviews until the Patriots are out of the playoffs. Wilson also noted that McDaniels is "not expected" to pursue a job with the Texans. Though, of course, that did come out before they fired David Culley today. As usual, McDaniels will remain a headline draw on the NFL head coaching circuit, even after backing out on the Colts job a few years ago.

The Vikings have requested permission to interview Chiefs director of player personnel Ryan Poles for their general manager vacancy.

One of Brett Veach's right-hand men has now been contacted by both the Vikings and Giants. In the Chiefs' front office since 2009 — so pre-Andy Reid — Poles was a finalist for the Panthers' opening last winter. He has long been considered a future general manager.

The Vikings requested to interview Bucs VP of player personnel John Spytek for their general-manager vacancy.

Spytek is in his sixth season with the Bucs as GM Jason Licht's righthand man, assisting Licht in free agency and overseeing the college and scouting departments. Prior to joining the Bucs, Spytek spent time with the Broncos and Browns. Along with Spytek, the Vikings have reached out to Patriots staffer Eliot Wolf and Browns executives Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Glenn Cook.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Vikings requested an interview with Browns VP of player personnel Glenn Cook for their general manager vacancy.

The Vikings also requested interviews with Browns executive Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Patriots player personnel consultant Eliot Wolf. All three have pending requests from other organizations as well. The Vikings moved on from Rick Spielman after their 2021 season ended. Spielman had been with the franchise for 16 years but the team had stagnated in recent seasons. Once management decides on a GM, they will move forward in their search for a new head coach.

I think Poles would be best of the bunch. Going up in the draft to get Mahomes was a hell of a move. We need someone who can do that for us.

I honestly don't think there's going to be a name put out there that moves the needle much either way. For me.

I feel stuff when HC names get put out there.

Positive vibes for Josh McDaniels.
