I really like Kenny Pickett. We'd be dumb as hell not to pick him if he's available.

I'm down for Pickett or Corall.

Extensive (some) youtube highlight watching has me happy with either.

If we land Harnaugh I just can't see his banking his return on am unknown quantity.

Yes, I like the way Pickett just bursts out of the pocket to buy time.

I lean towards QB, but if they're staying with Cousins, or giving Mond a chance, maybe they do a Cincinnati and draft a WR in the 1st round:

"While the 49ers and Vikings have leaned on their fullbacks and multiple-tight end formations, the Rams spread things out with three wide receivers and do different things with that personnel. The Rams led the NFL by using 11 personnel (1 back, 1 TE, 3 WRs) 85 percent of the time in 2021"

The Vikings had used this around 50% of the time.

While last year was hyped as a great QB draft, and 3 QBs went in the top 3 spots and 5 in the 1st round, it's possible that all 5 are busts, and none of them end up being better than mediocre.

I still think Lawrence will be the best of them, and Lance the 2nd best, but neither has shown a lot, not instant greatness.

And it's possible that Pickett, Corral and Willis all end up being better than any of the top 5 last year, despite this supposedly being a weak year for QBs.

we should draft the kicker/punter Dicker in the 6th round (may need to use our 5th on him to ensure we get him).... he can save us a roster spot, save us some money (paying only one guy instead of 2), and he seems like he has a ton of potential....

that's before my time.... not sure if Russell was good or not.

I forgot to mention our current P is an UFA, and the current K is a RFA.... neither are amazing by any stretch....

Trade Kirk and draft Pickett.

This is what I want and I'm locking it in.

Pickett is crafty behind the Los and can run
Kirk an albatross. Pickett hits his receivers in stride. Kirk aims the ball.

The mocks list him anywhere from 9 to 20 right now. A good combine and or pro day will likely cement him in the top 10. It doesn't take much for the top QBs to move up. Malik Willis moved into the top 10 just based on his Senior Bowl performance,

Didn't Willis have 11 yards passing in the game(along with some nice runs)? Looked good during the week(which seems to be more important than game).

54 yards rushing, 11 yards passing, does that?

In that case we should have kept Zimmer...

Why? One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

I'm guessing you butchered the post. My reply was just a play on the idea frequently bandied about that you had to practice well if you wanted any consideration from Zimmer.

I am wondering if the Vikes will approach QB like the 49ers, KC being our Jimmy G.

Either this year at 12, or next year, a top 10 pick in the draft is made on QB, maybe after a trade up.

Whatever they choose to do it will be a fresh philosophy. The elephant in the room is what does Mond have? How about the other rookies like Davis, Bynum, etc.

And if he gets injured we're ****ed.

The question is, has O'Connell seen Mond practice?

I doubt Zimmer saw him practice much. All you need to know is that Zimmer spent most of his time on the defense and it ranked 29th and 30th the last 2 years. One of the best games they played against LAC he was forced to put in Vigil and Bynum into the starting lineup and start Richardson at DE. It was time for a change.

I no longer trusted Zimmer after that game as he benched Bynum and Vigil saw less PT than Barr from then on.

Only a feeling by me, but it just seems like, with all the infor that's come out since the firing of zimmer and speilman, with them not talking, that Zimmer was not playing rookies unless he had absolutely no choice just to stick it to Speilman. He knew HIS job was pretty much out the door and was trying to taken RS down with him. And it worked. It's just a feeling of mine. I have no evidence of this. Just my opinion.
