patrick peterson's deal factored in; we are $12.6mm under the cap...there are still a couple of smaller deals not included, but we should be about $11mm under, and we're done with free agency....

peterson's cap hit is $3.9mm, and no ghost years...no cap hit in 2023 or beyond....

Yeah it is probably going to be saved for Camp Cuts or do the reverse and bring some cap from 23-24 to 22.
There are some smidgets of Honey Badger rumors but I think Tretter is questionable as he couldn't practice most of last year and was playing with a bad leg apparently.

You could amputate that bad leg of Tretter and he'd still be an upgrade over Bradbury

Almost every guy we have signed is 'very high character'. Maybe these guys actually help the young guys instead of tearing them down like the previous regime.

Yesss!!! Another missing piece of the puzzle.

Missing since January.

6th?

Jan 9.

We’re getting the band back together including PP.

Recapture some of that 8-9 magic.

Peterson said they're running it back.

Guess that phrase has been watered down.

Yeah. We need to "run it forward".

I think 'run it back' should be reserved for the Super Bowl winner, it should be more like redo or something like that for the Vikes, unless you want to run 8 wins back.

bradbury is our only center listed on spotrac - schlottmann is listed as his backup on our depth chart....

we've got six players listed as guards, and one of them is udoh....

i hope that one of our free agent guards can play as well as josh klien or joe berger....

The Vikings have agreed to terms with offensive lineman Chris Reed on a two-year contract.

Reed, who starred in college at Minnesota State University, was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2015, and spent his first four NFL seasons in Jacksonville. He split his 2019 season between the Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers, and stayed with Carolina for the 2020 season, starting 14 games. From there, he moved on to the Indianapolis Colts this past season.

Reed appeared in 14 games for the Colts this past season, getting six starts. He had experience at both center and guard, which gives the team some flexibility. He’s likely going to be a part of the equation at right guard, which is the one position on the offensive line that new head coach Kevin O’Connell says that there’s a competition at going into the season.

The contract for Reed is a two-year deal, the terms of which were not immediately available.

This also gives Reed the opportunity to reunite with his college teammate, Adam Thielen. The two were both at Minnesota State from 2010 to 2012.

So they went the quantity route for RG, at least with free agency. Battle it out in camp sure, but there are not many practices with pads anymore so the coaches better be on it.

Throw Cleveland's position into the mix as well.

I'm envisioning that Reed gave us the proverbial hometown discount...

probably grew up a Viking fan, family are Viking fans and always wanted to be a Viking

might not be true, but easy enough to believe

So maybe we got something more than a camp body...quality depth to borderline starter?

he has started a number of games in his career

Richardson back would be awesome, and Rudolph would help in the red zone. I don't trust Irv Smith to stay healthy.

pff ranks cj ham as one of the worst run-blocking fullbacks...it only ranks six fullbacks...they rank more triceratops than fullbacks....

we could cut ham, sign Richardson, and it wouldn't even ripple our cap....

rudolph would sign for $2mm just to sleep in his own bed every night - and he'd catch 5-6 td's, too....

Pass on Rudolph and Richardson.

We still have Zach Davidson who could develop into a Gronk lite type guy.

We have a lot of young DLinemen that could develop.

Anything to thwart a retread signee from exclaiming we are going to "run it back".

Rudolph is limited. It's ok for them to hire 30 one-dimensional coaches, but there is a limit for players. Wonder how high KOC values a versatile TE? Wouldn't be shocked if one is drafted in the 3rd or 4th round.

rating against their peers - 'chris reed was 38th of the 82 guards rated'....

on the street, I'm hearing that reed is going to play center, and j.davis right guard....

hopefully, wyatt can beat out jesse at right guard....
