If they get a shit return for him in a trade our shiny new GM that we just unabashedly threw our panties at goes right to the friend zone and has their work cut out getting out of it.

Cap space when? This year, when we'll likely be treading water and will have to pay back that cap space later? Oh, yey for us.

"C/Cb/OLB"... what does that nonsense even mean?

Bills restricted free-agent center/guard Ryan Bates is in Minnesota now meeting with #Vikings. He got the right-of-refusal tender of $2.433 million from the Bills. If the Vikings sign him to offer sheet, Bills to have 5 days to match. If Bills lose him they'd get no compensation.

Ben Goessling@BenGoessling
Kevin O’Connell: “There were two [LBs] in the NFL with 100-plus tackles and four interceptions last year. Both of those guys will be playing linebacker for our team.”

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Blockbuster: Packers are trading Pro-Bowl WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for two prime 2022 picks, league sources tell ESPN.

They already have cap space. They haven't announced Thielen's restructure and if they keep Hunter they move his to a Signing Bonus.

You are the typical poster that gets pissed off first few days of FA. Roster is 90 so there will be the 3rd stringers signed early. As a military man isn't patience a virtue?

Hunters situation cap wise will be settled by Sunday.....Center (Bates, Tretter), CB (Peterson, etc.) , OLB (Za Smith, Barr, etc.) are all still all in play.

The cap situation was worse last year and they created 20 million in cap space. They can easily create 40 million this year and already have created over 20 million. (Created 16 in Cousins restructure, 6 roster to signing for Smith, Thielen details aren't out and Hunters roster to signing would create 16).

Not sure what our plan is but you can get away with it if it coincides with other big contracts expiring.

Granted, you are still hovering around the cap(because of dead cap) and not having a 2022 Jacksonville surplus of cap room.

"They can easily create 40 million this year ..."

with no consequences I'm sure

The tiniest of silver linings so far is there seems to be some discipline in use of available resources, which you would expect from skinny math wizards. Most didn't like extending Cousins or Smith ... I didn't ... but IMO they could have really pushed this year's problems to 2023-2024 much worse than they have. It's early though.

Maybe the renegotiation process is on an agent timeline, not the team's. I can't understand why we didn't restructure Thielen's hush-hush contract or Smith's etc. and get our ducks in a row earlier. Maybe there were trade intentions (like Hunter) with no response.

22 million in Dead Cap this year and they are Spielman's Credit Cards....they are paying for it this year.

You can get away with it for a short time but you know around every corner, there's a fierce donkey bite waiting to happen.

Every dam thing is in flux. Season to season, its a juggle. I would have given Hunter a Putin-sized contract two off-seasons ago. Now he's a drag on our cap after signing a 'team-friendly' deal (twice !).

Who saw him coming to begin with? Player performance, injuries, crimes and misdemeanors, team and scheme changes ... all the variables that keep us mesmerized make it difficult to make plans and projections three years out.

Unless you're Phil. He must like fierce donkey bites.

From what I read, Rodgers was told before he signed, that they may not have Adams around.

It seemed liked Rodgers played better without Adams, he spreaded (sic ?)the ball around better. I still think a passing game is about 80% QB, 20% WR. B

But hopefully this leads to the Packers offense sputtering in the long run. Some red zone struggles leading to more FGs and picks, then a few injuries, and then Rodgers taking more sacks, leading Rodgers towards an earlier retirement.

Rodger would never admit to being duped and the Packers will never say anything to upset Aaron.

We will never know the truth.

I'm not worried about Hunter's injuries in the least. He's young with limited wear and tear on his tires. Now that wreck your pecks Sugarman is gone and with our new eyes on the players health Hunter is as likely to play 68 straight as suffer another season ending injury. And record 75 sacks in the next 4 years.

Browns are giving Deshaun Watson a new deal, per sources. The $184M over the first four years of this contract is a $48M raise over the $136M he was scheduled to make over the same four years on the previous contract - a $12M a-year raise in that span.

Deshaun Watson gets a fully guaranteed 5 year $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing ($150M). This deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First.

at this moment cleveland is -$23mm over the cap - including watson at $35mm, Mayfield at $18mm, and amari cooper at $20mm....

next year garrett accounts for $29mm of cap space next year, watson is an unknown so far....
