Vikings sign Josh Rosen to the PS instead of Captain Canada.

Why? That's like going to Fogo de Chao and asking for the cornish hen skewer.

Went to a place like that. Waiter gave me crap for pulling on his meat too hard. True story. Apparently it's the worst thing you can do BC my table was noticeably skipped on rounds.

I was amazed at the salad bar and loaded up ... then realized after that I had been gamed. Didn't have enough room to do real damage with the main course stuff.

I thought I had some worldly experience but obviously I don't - I had to go to the google to figure out what you guys were talking about

Also ... 'having to go to the google' ... that's different. Did you just pop out of a time capsule or something?

I've been off the grid for a few days

My .02 on the record comeback.

Negative nelly here...Debbie Downer...but we wouldn't have had to make a record setting comeback if we didn't allow ourselves to get down 33-0 in the first place. I am thrilled, excited, proud, and encouraged that even that deficit didn't have us quitting or throwing up the white flag...but I would rather we never have to do that again. Let's play like the second half of that game for the rest of the season...

OK?

I wouldn't want to play a hot Detroit or Puker team in the 1st game, it would probably be better to play an inconsistent Giant or Commando team.

I am hoping Miami (after losing 3 straight), feels at home and knocks the Pukers out next week.

If it goes down to Detroit at Green Bay, I think the Lions pull the upset in that one.

Thanks for the link, that video was awesome, and showed some of the brilliance of KOC, and how that combined with Kirk's accuracy is bringing success.

Tom

I knew Mullens had thrown some picks, didn't realize it was THAT many! There were a few on clips where the WR was probably at fault, but when you throw that many; not good. But I still think he could come in, in relief if Kirk and win a playoff game or 2. It's a different style, and could be hard for defenses to adjust, if they studied for Kirk all week.

I am confident the Vikings will win their opening round home game.

I am pretty sure they lose their second game, none of the matchups would look good.

They really need the #2 seed, a trip to San Francisco would be a military style execution IMO.

As cool as making that comeback was I agree. Just play good both halves and coast to an easy win.

It's an advantage to be an underdog.

I think the Vikings can win their 1st game, and every playoff game.

Purdy could choke in the 4th quarter of a close game. The Cowboys and Eagles could come in over-confident and get upset by the Vikings. KC and Buffalo would both be tough for the Super Bowl, but you just never know.

A home game against San Fran may look the same. I hope they get upset in their opening game.

That's the team I fear the most. I think they may win it all, if they remain healthy. IMO

I'm anxious about most of the paths through the playoffs. It's not a good way to be. I'd love to just accept things as they are and how they'll be but I see a lot of scenarios where we just come out flat and don't have a rebound in us and it's over just like that.

I'd love to stand with this team. Love them and enjoy them. I read some things today about this season being magical, and it really has been. But If there's a big thud in the last act...was it still magical then?

I wish I was a better fan. A lot of my posts in the gdt are rooted in fear of them losing/getting embarassed. I don't know how to let that go.

I guess they have to drag my doubting ass across the fislnish line for a change. Then I'll be better.

Todd I think most of us totally get this post. Eventually you reach a "show me" point. I'll believe it when I see it. We're just waiting for the let down to occur. Honestly if they win a playoff game and play a good division round game it's probably a really awesome result based on defensive personnel.

The tiebreaker, since they don't play head-to-head, goes to the team with the better conference record. The 49ers are 8-2 in the NFC and the Vikings are 6-3, so there's a good shot that a tie between the two would go to the 49ers and leave the Vikings with the No. 3 seed.

If the SB is our goal we need to win out. SF plays cupcakes and as Ricky projects will win their final 3 games.

We will need every advantage against them in the divisional rd.

Is there any way we can clone Darrisaw?

Don't let the 11-3 record confuse you. The Vikings have outscored their opponents by two points for the year. They are a mediocre football team.

As I see it, we've played three really good teams this season. Got beaten badly by Philly and Dallas and beat Buffalo by a field goal. 1-2 against legit teams means it is very unlikely that some sort of Super Bowl run is coming.

In the playoffs you face decent teams in the opening round and it only gets tougher from there. If the Vikings are going to make any type of legitimate run, they are going to need the defense to start playing good football over the next three weeks. They don't even have to be great. Just be decent. The collapse for a quarter or half will send you home in the playoffs. You can get away with it against Indianapolis. Get down 33-0 against even the Giants or Bucs and the season is over.

If the Vikings are mediocre then there are 4 teams out of 14 that are maybe not.

Mediocre means average at best. If average teams go 11-3 and are in second place in the NFC then there's lots of company below us. A very unusual team, no doubt. Who knows if they'll get it just right before it's over (other than you of course) but I'd like to think they have a chance.

Brad you keep bringing up the 2 points. That'll happen when you lose 40-3. And if the last two weeks mean anything Dallas is heading in the wrong direction.

And no one wants to play SF they're so good. If theyre so damn good what are they doing losing to Chicago, Denver and Atlanta as well as KC? Who have they beat? Sea, LAR, Car, LAC, AZ, NO, Mia, TB! Sounds fairly mediocre to me. Who's that leave left above mediocre other than Philly in the NFC?

In the playoffs you face decent teams in the opening round and it only gets tougher from there. Where they at?

I only see one team in the NFC I would call great...Philadelphia. The rest have issues.

San Francisco is probably the next best team, but they have had so many injuries on offense that they could go away quickly on the right day. A quarterback that has hardly played. Top wide receiver gone. The Niners have a great defense...with McCaffrey and Kittle on offense. The defense will keep them in every game. Can the guys on offense score enough points?

Dallas is an enigma. They can beat anybody. They occasionally fall asleep and look bad. To me it's all on Dak Prescott, and he's proven over time to be inconsistent. Their defense takes a lot of risks. They make plays, but occasionally get burned. Dallas has very few weapons outside of the running game. CD Lamb disappears for halves at a time.

Minnesota has no defense. They have one of the worst defenses (if not the worst) in the league. When they make a stop in the red zone, Vikings fans go crazy because they made a stop. With good defenses, that's what happens all the time. The quarterback has still not proven to win in prime time. Cousins has played better this season, but he's still Cousins. He is much better when he spreads the ball around. Often times he gets way too locked in on Jefferson and the offense goes silent for a quarter. My biggest problem with the Vikings is they have Chernobyl-type halves. Way too emotional. Another meltdown is right around the corner.

The Lions are a good football team right now. If they make the playoffs they are going to make it tough for someone. They are right there with Philly for how they can beat you, offensively. They can run it. They can pass it. The problem is, their defense is a mess and gives up a ton of points. They've played a little better in recent weeks, but still aren't very good.

The Giants are a cheap version of the Niners. They are a mostly defensive team, but not as good as San Francisco on defense. Outside of Saquon Barkley, New York has arguably the worst playmakers in the NFC. A long ways from a complete team.

The Bucs are awful on offense, and at-best mediocre on defense. Brady is finished. At this point, he's only tarnishing what has been a phenomenal career. His receivers drop a ton of passes and the coaching combination of Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich have got to go.

You make up a bad excuse for only outscoring opponents by two points for the year. If you are 11-3, you should have outscored your opponents by more than two points. Yes, they lost one lopsided game.

Cincinnati is 10-4. They've outscored their opponents by 81. Kansas City is 11-3. They've outscored their opponents by 92. Buffalo is 11-3. They've outscored their opponents by 135. Dallas is 10-4. They've outscored their opponents by 125. San Francisco is 10-4. Outscored their opponents by 128. Teams that have almost the same amount of points as their opponents? Seattle (7-7), Detroit (7-7), Washington (7-6-1), Las Vegas (6-8), Jacksonville (6-8), Miami (8-6).

Brad,
All I know is everything went wrong against the Colts (INT Return, Blocked Punt, 2 fumble recoveries for TD ignored, and giving up the ball inside your own 50 twice) and they still came back and won.

Are you ok with Kirk now? 7 game winning drives this year.

Oh yeah....the bucs. Didn't they get outscored 27-0 after a 17-0 lead at home?

Eagles....they just about got beat by the Bears.

I agree on the 49ers being tough.

The Vikes came off of a tough week against a very tough Jets team and the Colts came off of a bye week.
