Greatest season...if we don't figure in post season play...

Probably pretty subjective. 98 was a joy ride with pretty smooth sailing. 2009 A little less so. This season is a thrill ride with no seatbelt and a funny clinking sound that's impossible to ignore. But it's also had some low lows. Sometimes these things happened in the same game.

I will say it would be e a great year to rewatch our America's Game highlight video.

This one and ‘98 are the most entertaining, certainly. And from a pure fun perspective this season is probably better.

Watched that fight a few years ago. Watched your link with the sound turned off, and with it turned up. Both were pretty awesome.

Patrick Peterson at halftime: "All we need is 5 TDs", Kirk thought he was being sarcastic, lol.

“I’ll never forget it as long as I live,” O’Connell told the media after the game. “Patrick Peterson told the team, we’re gonna get stops, you just need 5 touchdowns, that’s nothing.”

The 36 points the Colts scored is pretty misleading as well. Our defense deserves a ton of credit:

The Vikings finished on a 36-3 run with the Colts failing to mount an offensive threat throughout the second half. The Colts crossed midfield just once in nine possessions spanning the 40 minutes between the third and fourth quarters and overtime.

All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson kept it simple, lamenting the Colts' inability to generate any sustainable offense for most of the game. The team scored just one offensive touchdown, settling for five field goals while getting TDs via a blocked punt and an interception return.

CB Duke Shelley was the highest graded #Vikings player yesterday, via @PFF
He played 100% of defensive snaps, allowing only 2 catches for 15 yards. Additionally, he had 2 PBU's and 3 tackles.

Just heard this stat from Gabe Henserson re the defense:

Indy 1st half: 33 points, 209 yards
Indy 2nd half: 3 points, 131 yards

Can't blame the D for 14 of the 1st half pts.

Cook with that 63 yard screen run. Who in Vikings history among the stalwarts could have done that?
- Percy
- AD
- Terry Allen
- Foreman (see below)

Second tier, weirdly:
- Ted Brown

Foreman could maybe razzle and dazzle to include a 360 spin or one of those mid-air fakes along the sideline, but not through that mass of defensive humanity. Then again, yeah he could!

Darin Nelson
Robert Smith

He had the 5th highest PFF grade for CBs in the 2019 draft class. Small but effective.

My $0.02:

That was insane!!!

We were down 36-7 with only a few minutes left in the 3rd!!

The refs were brutal. Sullivan had two scoop and scores that were taken away.

Shelly made a number of key hits and tackles.

The defense really only gave up 16 points (the pick 6, punt, and the two short fields from failed 4th down plays are not on them).

Cousins played tough, as did the whole team.

Loved the reactions after the game and in the locker room.

Watching that game feels kinda like shitting your pants, but then being elated that it was not diarrhea!

Other NFL thoughts:

DAL losing was great!

NE loss....WTF dude?!

CHI gave PHI a run for their money...

NYJ should have beaten DET. And Goff sucks on the road.

NFCS sucks.

WAS got hosed by the refs TWICE at the end of their game.

Is it time to see what Nailor can do as a 4th WR?

You could say that Reagor was the cause of both INTs.

I may have to watch that whole game again. My head is still spinning 2 days later. We actually won a game where:

We were down 33-0 at half
Had a punt block for a TD
Had a pick six
Failed on a 4th and 1 on our 35
Failed at a fake punt inside our own 40
Had a WR #5 completely shit the bed that led to 2 picks (one inside their 10)
Gave up a big return to start the game

What an absolute dumpster fire of a first half

This team is a total roller coaster. I'm not sure what it is with this franchise, but they have incredibly low, lows and incredibly high, highs. They can collapse quicker than a building with dynamite under it.

When I checked a couple days ago, we had seven cornerbacks on the 53, and that does not include Evans or Booth….

Because you're so even-handed and impartial.
