I was not on board with signing him to big money. He was talented, but hurt too much. Now he's overpaid and old, for a RB.

I know these are highlights and vs college competition, but I'm excited to see Chandler.

The improvement in speed and explosion vs what we currently have is pretty obvious

Fire Donatell.

Trade Hunter and Cousins.

Try to draft a franchise QB this season, if you're not able, you go with Mullens and tank the season. Should be able to get the top pick in next year's draft, with the schedule the Vikings have.

Exactly why you just keep backs on rookie contracts unless they sign very cheap.

Jerick McKinnon still looks great because he's in a good offense. The Chiefs wouldn't trade him for Dalvin Cook under any circumstance right now. One could make a case that he's been the most valuable back in the league over the past month.

I"m on board with trading Hunter for draft picks, but Cousins has a not trade clause. So not sure how that would play out.
Guess they could get him to waive it.

I'd still explore Hunter for Trey Lance and maybe a pick?
Hunter give San Fran a defensive piece to make a run the next couple years.
He'd give them a hell of a DE in their rotation.

Vikings get a legitimate prospect who's stock will never be lower due to injury.

I believe, but haven't verified, Emmit Smith and Terrell Davis are the only 2 RBs in history to lead the NFL in rushing yards and win a SB THAT year

I wouldn't give anything for Trey Lance. He's arguably the third best quarterback on his team and now he's damaged goods.

One other thing about football in 2022. The Vikings almost always had a player spying Jones because of his running ability.

That was the last thing on the Giants mind with Cousins.

Don't underestimate the value of having that extra defender in coverage, playing the RB, etc.

After seeing Cousin's checkdown throw with the season on the line, and hearing his comments on it, I want him to be traded.

I would take a 3rd rounder for him.

I have been one of the biggest supporters of KOC and his playcalling, but after reading his comments after the game with regards to Donatell, I am very concerned that may not be the right person for head coach.

Top RB performance IMO

1963 Jim Brown Cleveland Browns 1,863 14 game season
1973 O. J. Simpson Buffalo Bills 2,003 14
1980 Earl Campbell Houston Oilers 1,934 16 (his yards per game were lower, but man he RAN over people that year)
1997 Barry Sanders Detroit Lions 2,053 16
2012 Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings 2,097 16

Ricky Williams didn't make the list - sorry Dr. Gil

Well, like I said, his stock is at it's low point.

He's 6-4, with a strong build, and has a rocket. He was good enough to be considered a unanimous top 5 pick

I trust a lot in Lynch, and I'm sure he saw enough to make it worth their pick. But yeah, guys are busts and there's always risk

He got hurt, and if he's damaged goods but maybe not a good idea.

But we have no viable path at this point to getting a young QB, with franchise potential
My point is what do you have to lose? You have Hunter for 1 more year, are you really going to sign a 30 year old to a long term contract with so many needs on this team and wanting to get younger?

How are you trading Cousins?

To whom?

For what?

Cut or trade:
Cook
Thielen
Kendricks
Z. Smith
H. Smith
Hicks
Ham

This gets you 40-50M in cap space. Gain more by doing post June 1st cuts but that hurts your ability to sign free agents.

So we basically are only really hurting the LB position.

Chandler/Nwangwu/rookie/mid tier FA will be just as good as Cook.

Metullus/Cine will be better than an over the hill Harrison Smith.

Nailor/mid tier FA/rookie can replace Thielen

Ham is expendable or could be brought back for minimum.

Z wore out and was a liability the last 8 games.

We need a big nasty Center like Jensen(TB). This would help both guards out.

Speed at LB.

Lastly, if Staley gets fired in LA, bring him in for DC.

Root for Purdy to win SB.

Make a run at Lance.

And still draft a mobile QBOTF.

If we don't have the guy that can take this franchise from perennial loser to champion then nothing else matters.

Cousins isn't it and I'm tired of wasting time on him.

Trade Jefferson for two #1's and a 3rd...trade up on this draft.

The realistic (and sucky) scenario is:

Kirk is here next year - DO NOT F'ING EXTEND HIM

Identify a successor... draft someone, find someone on the scrap heap, try and forecast FA QB... in that order.

That probably means gambling on a lower draft pick qb (non 1st).
(i don't know that you can get enough draft capital to get a blue chipper... hope i'm wrong)

Who is a can't miss QB? There is no Joe Burrow in this draft. Stroud could be Hurts or he might be Zach Wilson.
