my plan as GM

Hire Rick Spielman as a consultant to evaluate the top 5 QBs in this year's draft, prepare reports and rank them 1 to 5

Immediately move up to draft his 5th ranked QB

Trade KC, if possible, if not try a mid season trade, if not...work the rookie in throughout the year

tell all our FAs thanks for the memories

Is this sarcasm? Why would you trust a RS QB choice?

We can g back and look at tape, or read the game day threads for the season..

KOC played too cute for his own good at least once a game..

Some times it worked, sometimes not.

The one irrefutably consistent offensive failure was holding the ball too long, then throwing a shittycheckdown short of the line to gain or even the line of scrimmage.

Kirk Stan’s can point fingers at any ****ing thing they want and defend his stats and season till the cows come home.

The fact is that his contract, his inability toread and process the routes on any given play in less than 4 seconds, and his all important completion percentage and robotic inability to change a play, makes him mediocre, at best.

We will win nothing with him as QB.
We will win nothing by sentimentality overpaying aged vets like cook, Thielen, Kendricks, et.Al, and the Donatello firing does not happen sooner rather than later.

We at
Re in dead cap hell and there is only one way out.

Cut or trade if possible those expensive contracts, especially with the defense, and start a full rebuild around obvious talent.

If I owned this team, I pull both Cousins and Donatello into the office with KAM and KOC and I pointedly, fire KC and Donatello, on the spot, eat the dead money, and tell the management to deal with it and build a winning culture and team.

Kirk got his rookie HC 13 wins... he ain't going anywhere.
KOC got Kirk to grow... actually looking like a guy who would take chances at points.
My guess is KOC thinks he can continue to grow Kirk.
We shall see.

His ridiculous contract all but guarantee that he will be here in 2023, being mediocre, and giving Kirk Stan’s their weekly erection when he make his occasional, but not consistently great throw in a tight window.

I’m done with cousins.

We won “13” games more on luck and fortunate plays by Patrick Peterson, than any leadership by KC or KOC’s playcalling.

That’s just me being my 55 years disgruntled fan.

I refuse to believe KC will ever be more than what he is.. a ten+ year veteran who has never won anything but division titles.

Yes. He is making fun of the fact that RS can't scout QB's so his "5th best" is sure fire HOFer so draft him!

10:47: 4th-and-1 for the Giants in the red zone. Obvious QB sneak situation. Vikes have 3?????? defenders in the box while six guys just stand around 3-5 yards back???????

Gawd. I haven't rewatched any of that game but I do remember that. I wouldn't have been able to tell you there were only 3 down linemen but I remember real time yelling at the TV. it was so obvious we had no chance to stop that qb sneak.

5:46: Kendricks covering Saquon, has no chance, big gain

6:06: Kendricks covering a WR Hodgins, not even in the same zipcode, big gain

6:18: The PP letting the TE go free for a TD play I posted about just a bit back. Seriously - watch this play and tell me PP should ever be on this team again. I dare you.

You see Hicks jam the inside receiver and then transition to the original outside receiver as they switch.
It looks to me like PP also is looking to cover the original outside guy.
So either PP or Hicks should have taken the TE who ends up catching the TD.

I don't know who is responsible and I don't really care... how in the hell are two vets making such a piss poor mistake in the playoffs.

I will say Ed's defense seems to have TONS of these miscommunications.
Vets should be able to overcome that.

Ed should go.
Hicks should go.
PP should probably go.

Ran 3 pass rushers on a 4th and 26, in a playoff game against McNabb.

That is why Donatell was fired in 2005.

They act like they have the Williams wall available.
Ed's defensive calls are baffling... like he is trying to fail at times.
He HAS to go.
If they keep him for next year I will have a hard time watching games.

This team has so many needs with zero cap and only 4 draft picks.

If the Wilf's insist on continuing the competitive rebuild and kick the can further down the road this franchise will become a grease fire soon.

If Kwesi follows his draft model of last year he will probably trade down again to recoup picks and select name players that slide due to injury history.

I am actually surprised when I check sports news sources, and it doesn't say anything about Donatell getting fired.

I wish Kirk would have made a quick decision and threw a prayer for JJ, or lofted an anticipatory pass to KJ. Hock shouldn't have been an option, the same time he set up for that throw should have been used for a pass leading KJ.

But, for the large picture, I am glad Kirk didn't do that, as that one play shows why we should get rid of Kirk. He thinks too slowly, is poor at moving in the pocket, and doesn't have the quickness to ad lib.

Trade Kirk.

The players are as bad as Donatell:

Points allowed in 2021 under Mike Zimmer: 426

Points allowed in 2022 under Ed Donatell: 427

Interesting tidbit:

Cousins will also be turning 35 later this year. No quarterback since 2011, other than Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, has led their team to an appearance in the Super Bowl at the age of 35 or older.

Cuz ain't Manning/Brady...

I will say, he is one tough SOB though... unbelievably available.

Neither Zimmer, nor Donatell have a history of making playoff runs as defensive coordinators.

It's not just the players. Zimmer was bad, and Donatell is WORSE than bad.

Yes. I get the anger with Donatell. I wouldn’t care if he’s fired that’s fine. After a season like that a coordinator has to expect to be on the hot seat.

But that’s just one small part of the problem. An easy knee jerk reaction. This defensive roster doesn’t exactly scream playoff contender. Defenses are given nicknames. This bunch should be Swiss Cheese. Holes everywhere.

Knee jerk reaction? One small part of the problem? To one, if not the worst, defenses in the league? Thats not just a bland understatement …

Thats a tofu and eggwhite recipe slathered with gelatin from a can of spam.

I’m not defending Donatell. As I said, fire him, I don’t care. But just don’t expect that to magically turn our shitty sow’s ear defense into a silk purse.

My problem with him is that he didn't even try anything different. Same crap all year and then would say "my system works". You gotta, at least, try something different when you are a hot pile of garbage.

The Donatell system was so poor, it makes it a little difficult to properly evaluate some of the players.

IF staying with a 3-4 next year, then trade Hunter.

I hope we go back to the 4-3 and keep Hunter...he is an elite player. We have a lot of work to do with this defense, but it gives me confidence in our leadership that they saw a problem and addressed it. Gives me a little hope for next year.
