ORIGINAL: Brad H quote:
ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen From atozsports: The Minnesota Vikings just made a sneaky, yet very solid move on the first day of free agency: the team is going to sign former Baltimore Ravens tight end Josh Oliver to a new deal. Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Vikings are giving Oliver a three-year deal worth $21 million. $10.75 million of that is guaranteed and there are included incentives that can bump the deal up to $24 million. As Garafolo notes in his tweet, Oliver is one of the NFL's best blocking tight ends. He's the ultimate compliment to Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson, who is one of the NFL's best receiving tight ends. Now, the Vikings have an incredible 1-2 punch at a position that can really hurt NFL defenses when utilized correctly. Hockenson is actually on OK run blocker, as well. So, it's not like the Vikings will be giving too much away if/when just one or both players are on the field. Is Garafolo aware of how bad our defense is? TB, NE, KC, or MN? Which Defense? If you are talking about the Vikings: He doesn't need the memo....grabbed one of the best Def minds and poached a player from one of the best defensive teams.
