If we can get these guys back and Mullens plays well, we could surprise someone in 1st round.

A lot of ifs.

This would be the year to pick a few teams off. When you look at the scores this year, it's certainly a anyone can beat anyone year

Afield goal with 2 mi utes to go on y he road?

Against the raiders?

Cincinnati is gonna roll us..

“All Talk” turns out to be a compliment…

I can’t imagine the game day thread..

Looks like Dobbs is what we thought he is.. crown his ass..

Did they bench him for mullet mulligans?

A wins a win right?

Draft position is trivial, next to getting into the playoffs..

At this point it’s all I have to hope for, and that we actually do better than 1 and dnd…

All you hus in Vegas put a dollar on vikes wing the di ion Al fond..

It’s not just End Of Game ..

Losing yards happens on plays because defenses can make plays.. but running a middle screen on third and short or medium is like throwing gasoline on a bonfire from 2 yards away.

You are playing with fire and the defense is the fire..

You are gonna get burned by being a knucklehead…

Not too much making you or anyone happy. At least we have a passing game with Mullens.

Mullens, a poor man's Kirk Cousins.

Nick 'Foles' Mullens, the best passer we have left.

I went to the store for over an hour and came back missing nothing. Pretty strange in an offense driven era.

It highlighted once again Dobbs's shortcomings for the "experts" who were pounding the table for him to start that game. Accuracy is not optional for an NFL QB.

Looked like a guy playing against 22 defenders too.

At this point if the argument is "we know who Mullens is" then the only option is Hall. I think we know who Dobbs is too. Extremely inaccurate.

On Dobbs accuracy: He made Josh Freeman look competent.

Ride Kirk Cousins all you want. He's certainly got his warts (folds in big games, throwing short of the sticks when you gotta get the first down etc not knowing to spike the ball with no time outs etc) but accuracy has never been one of them. Poor accuracy is deadly.

We won. Nick Mullens led a game winning driving in relief. And we may have our fourth starting QB next Sunday as a result.

God help us.

I though Cincinnati minus Burrow would be a very winnable game. Not anymore.

I was one who approved of giving Dobbs another start. I still say it was the right thing to try. It didn’t work. I now have no problem saying Mullens is the correct choice the rest of the way. Mullens didn’t do anything spectacular but there was a marked difference in the look and feel of the passing game. Dobbs was never in sync with the receivers and couldn’t deliver to the right receiver at the right time in the right position.

So I’ll take the relative stability of Mullens. Especially with the way the defense is playing. And by the way, for those bemoaning this last game, I will just say, are the Vikings serious contenders? Probably not. But they are more of a contender this year than last. If they had won 34-31 instead of 3-0 would you feel any better? A whole lot of fans would.

Why?

Just because a game is more spine tingling doesn’t make it a better quality win. The defense hasn’t given up a TD in two games now. I don’t care who it’s against, that means you’re playing some pretty good football at least on that side of the ball. Knowing nobody is going to run up the score on you is better than hoping for yet another miracle comeback.

Going with the comfortable loafer QB and playing complimentary football is the best hope to at least maybe get a playoff win. I hate to revert to Zimmer ball but it’s the only viable option right now.

Looks like Cincinnati might be able to flip their backup QB for a high pick.

What's really sad is that this offense was supposed to be so much better than it turned out.

Cousins was Cousins but he was consistent. QB since his injury has been anything but consistent.
Mattison has run well in a couple games but has been a big disappointment.
Addison hit a rookie wall but has played well at times.
Osborn seems to have disappeared this year.
Hockenson drops a lot of passes for a guy that gets paid what he does.
JJ being has hurt us.

but the Oline has been better this year.

QB has to be the priority in 2024 whether we resign Cousins or not. After that a better RB would be nice.
I also really hope that BFLO is retained. Pay him like a HC if you have to, that guy needs to stay. The Defense is all on him.
Jordan Hicks was tearing it up until his injury. He was not a negative in any way, but since he's been out, this defense has been even better. With Troy Dye getting regular reps....BFLO has been the one major reason the Vikings didn't totally implode after that rough start.

I know the focus today is going to be on the offense and how poor it is, but we should also be giving props to the defense and how far they have come.

Right now the Vikings are 5th in the league in points allowed-per-game at 18.6 and 10th in yards allowed-per-game at 311.2.

Last season we were arguably the worst defense in the league. That's a major jump.

KOC is a bum and should be shown the door and Flores made HC.

Any time is good.

Dobbs went from sensational to everybody spitting and kicking at him. I’d feel bad for him but I got no time for bums.

JJ is approaching bum status.

His haul has gone from likely incredible to middling.

It is an amazing leap!

This defense is not stocked with star talent.
Flores has the sum playing better than the individual parts.

Really hope we get another year with him.

One facet looks like they're well coached. That's really all that needs to be said. The other 2 look like a clown car.
