Vikings Top Draft Pick Reportedly in Some Trouble

SI.com’s Bill Enright tweeted Thursday, “Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was charged with reckless driving last night. Was doing 140 MPH in his Lambo. Source: Minnesota State Patrol.”

Additionally:

- even though it was on i94 it was in a 55mph

- at 3am

Dude!

https://twitter.com/KSTPSports/status/1682089502884372484?s=20

3AM, but so far I haven't heard anything about alcohol being involved. It could still be coming.

he was not arrested, just cited....

udoh got three citations in a week, one for big-time speeding - all last month....

Are you defending him?

are you looking for a fight?....

i was expressing; no alcohol....

I don't see how a person can just be let go for speeding 85 MPH over the speed limit.

It just looks like a "no big deal, move on" post to me.

Not sure what Udoh being an idiot has to do with the rookie, but Udoh's citations were going 64 in a 55, using the carpool lane alone and going 97 in a 55.

Granted 97 on a highway is dumb and dangerous (and something that is seen regularly unfortunately), but no where near doing 140.

At 140 if anything goes wrong, you have a really high chance for a fatality. Something we experienced here in Vegas with an NFL player just 2 years ago.

If he gets 70 catches and 1000 yards does the GM get a special bonus? Should we wait for a few games to be played?

Even closer to home:

On May 30, 2022, Jeff Gladney and his girlfriend, Mercedes Palacios, were killed in a car crash in Dallas, Texas, at 2:30 am. Police reports indicated that Gladney's Mercedes SUV clipped a car, while traveling at an excessive speed; his vehicle then spun off the road, crashed into a brick wall, and ignited into flames. Gladney was 25 years old; Palacios was 26.

Honestly, there is a decent chance the cop that pulled him over saved his (or someone else's) life.

I know that area well. I was on that same stretch every day for 4 years in college and still visit friends that live near there to this day. I've driven it in the middle of the night and its never deserted. He was pulled over just before you hit that sharp downward left curve into downtown. That's why the speed limit is reduced there - and its a place that has had numerous SUVs and trucks tip from taking it too fast.

Sounds about right for a player who wore a shiny pink, floral-laden suit lined with fabric print of U.S. $$$, and who has already been injured.

Let's go get paid! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEm3O8ZaXgc

It's early but put me in the camp of 'We drafted an attention seeking idiot'.

Agree.

I'm certain after the draft there was the standard dribble about not only are these fine players but also young men of high character, we put in our diligence and research, blah, blah. Biggest propaganda machine going.

Or some schmoe who has learned the latest lingo off Twitter, talks in circles, but is in over his head. Converse with him and you're like, whoa this guy is amazing. Then you see his non-results and think ah, he's just a bullshot artist who is all style and no substance.

Zero dark Lebron mode!

It's too early for me to form an opinion but the guy's team is 13-4, he got Hockinson, and finally released some expensive vets that are close to being put out to pasture. I'd like to see Booth, Cine, and Addison play some games and see what we've got. But don't let me spoil the four minutes of hate.

It happens every ... dam ... summer.

Someone's going to say, if its not sugar-coated, we should at least wait for early season returns to post with more clarity. As if there is EVER going to be any clarity or agreement in here on what just happened, what's happening, what's going to happen.

Please. Continue posting favorable or unfavorable opinions. It beats dumbass Addison stories.

Dang it I wrote four minutes of hate. It should have been two minutes of hate or just two minutes hate. Count on me for incorrect obscure references.

I don't know 13-4 off of a steamy mess left by Spielman/Zimmer seems quite genius to me.

All the signs of a paper tiger after being bitch slapped by a mediocre Giants team at home in the WC round. We were nothing more than a 500 team that got lucky in one score games.

So you don't think winning one score games is good coaching; okey dokey.....no difference between KOC and Zimmer in one score games?

We lost to NYG by a TD if I remember correctly---that is a bitch slapping?

IOW, getting onto the field in front of the superstar starters and backups. Quite the standard.

13-4, LMAO. Great resume fodder for GMs who hide behind stats. He's also 0-1.

Maybe one, two, or three of them will become quality starters. Hell if I know.

The difference in one score games in Zimmer's last year (record bad) and KOC (record good) is astounding. And likely a one-off for both coaches.

The Giants win will be remembered as the game that caused a gnashing of teeth within the Giants organization because Daniel Freakin' Jones played so well, i.e. was it real, does he deserve a big contract extension, etc.

When you get depants, at home, by a team that backed its way into the playofffs, Phil… that is the definition of being “bitch slapped”..

The KOC, KFC, KAM koolaid drinkers are hilarious…

Any shred, of any thing, is a valid lifetime pass for ****ing up a Super Bowl run; 56 years and counting…

yea, it’s fun to watch, SB runs, Appearances, NFCCG wins, even losses, are fun to watch.

But after 50+ years, I’ve had my fill of “fun” and nail biting anticipation and ****ING HEART STOMPING FAILURE.

Nothing personal, but **** your excuses and “butwhatabout” and “ we are set next year , for sure”

I go July 26th to have a contrast dye angiogram of the blood flow to my brain.

I think they are going to find a massive clot of anger and frustration shaped like a 1998 Viking football helmet inside there, somewhere.

I’m also sure that somewhere there is a lump of dead tissue shaped like a 0-41 NFCCG NYG logo..

I was looking more into the Madden ratings for our CB and googled Joejuan Williams (seeing he was rated higher than Evans and others).

Born: 1997 (age 25 years), Nashville, TN
School: Vanderbilt University
Current team: Minnesota Vikings (#29 / Cornerback)
Weight: 208 lbs
Height: 6′ 4″

Likely wrong crystal ball predictions for 2023:
- Cine. Starts eight games. Speed allows flash plays, often overwhelmed but that is due to new system, weak CBs, etc. Jury on an extended break.
- Booth. Bust. Three starts then benched. Favorite target of opposing QBs. Athleticism at Clemson let him get away with stuff, but the NFL is another world.
- Ingram. Settles into being a capable starter, no more and no less. Fewer bust plays. Floor and ceiling are about the same height.
- Addison. In the 3 WR mix from day one. Quickness leads to early hoopla and highlights. Two leg injuries and a concussion mean the jury is again out.
