Yep. The only reason I was never clocked doing 140 when I was his age is that I never owned a Lamborghini. I got my Olds Omega with a 350 up to around 110 a couple of times.

My confession: I've been up to 120 three times. Buick V8 in the 70s, Corvette, Probe GT. All three times were on straight-aways with no cars around. I felt fairly safe getting up to speed but I didn't stay there for long, though.

I don't excuse the immaturity but ... looking back at myself at that age ... I get it. I don't object to the early wealth or pricey toys at all.

85 mph over the speed limit on an interstate (even at 3am) is ridiculous. With extra sauce.

And more than just pushing your toys hard as a young man. IMO.

Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was allegedly arrested and charged with driving under the influence, according to public records.

The alleged incident occurred Saturday afternoon in Chanhassen. Everson was charged with 4th degree DUI, which is: "the lowest degree of DUI in the state of Minnesota, and the baseline of a first-time offense." Griffen was booked at 12:41PM central time, and subsequently released an hour later at 1:41PM central time.

- Interesting. Playing for Washington and a revolving door of OCs, not to mention Zimmer, in MN. He hasn't had the most QB friendly atmosphere in is career.

Adam Patrick @Str8_Cash_Homey

Most QB wins during the Dan Snyder era in Washington (1999-2022)

Kirk Cousins - 26
Jason Campbell - 20
Brad Johnson - 17
Mark Brunell - 15
Robert Griffin III - 14

If it was a revolving door with OC with Washington just how many different OC's has Cousins had in 11 years?

Getting KOC again HAS to be a boon for him.

Not entirely true, I lived in DC for his time there. Even if he had multiple coordinates (I don’t remember exactly, that part) his head coach was Jay Gruden. A lousy head coach but a really good offensive coach. AKA, pretty much the same system.

Yup.

His first 2 years in SF he had Kyle Shanahan as his OC. His next 3 season he had Sean McVay (who was already coaching in Washington since before Kirk was drafted).

His final year he had Matt Cavanaugh, but even he had been Cousins' QB coach the previous 2 years.

SF? Kirk never played for SF.

Fiance had an Aspire that shook at 55 mph. Too small to see how it shook when at 0 MPH......

On the bright side regarding Addison;

1. At least no one got hurt.
2. He was sober.
3. He wasn't possessing illegal firearms.

From ESPN https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38063965/vikings-jordan-addison-driving-140-mph-dog-emergency

A description of the incident issued by the Minnesota State Patrol notes that Addison "stated his dog was having an emergency at his residence and that was the reason for his speed."

Let's get paid!

just found this....

Minnesota Vikings@Vikings

The #Vikings have made the following roster moves:

Signed G Jack Snyder and TE Colin Thompson

- Placed OLB Andre Carter II on Active/PUP

- Placed G Chris Reed on Active/Non-Football Injury

- Waived/Non-Football Injury WR Malik Knowles

Vikings Tight Ends Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Brian Angelichio coached Thompson with the Panthers from 2020-21 - Thompson is also a long snapper.

Snyder originally was signed by the Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft.

my count says we still have two open spots....

Is it just me or does this guy have ET fingers? Maybe even Alien facehugger fingers ... I bet he doesn't drop a ball all year:

I will say the emergency dog story throws a wrench in my old man bias against Addison ...

If its true, it's neither here nor there. But if its NOT true ... he's made up some ground with me: the sheer bald-faced audacity ...

According to @AaronWilson_NFL

the Minnesota #Vikings will be filling the final spot on their 90-man roster by signing offensive tackle Bobby Evans, who spent the first four years of his #NFL career with the Rams.

some see this as a probable minimum...we've paid hunter a lot of upfront money over the years - i'd offer him this deal...or trade him for a 2nd rounder, and sign Houston and Yannick - both....

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Seahawks’ edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu is signing a three-year extension worth up to $59 million that includes $32 million guaranteed. The deal was confirmed by agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha.

i think that kwesi sees 2024 as a very possible rebuild/reload - no quarterback season, and doesn't want expensive and possibly complicated contracts hanging around....

we're not drafting a new QB until 2025 - or we keep cousins....

Hunter at 28 is IMO wanting a big 3-4 year contract, but I don't see the value with him in the 3-4. His last good year was 2019, and with injuries, scheme, age, etc. not sure how one can justify rewarding or acknowledging him for past performance. Going forward, he is a star in this talent depleted defense, but not in the grand scheme.

Yes Kwesi might not want expensive contracts in the near term, and that could include Hunter's.

***********

2024 Cap Hit leaders:

Cousins, $28.5 million (dead cap)
Jefferson, $19.7 million
O'Neill, $19.7 million
Smith, $19.2 million (will likely be gone)

The counter to that is that:

Clearly he was misused last year with a guy that had no clue what he was calling. He still had 10.5 sacks. What can we get out of him with Flores? It's very tempting but I get the caution based on his injury history. I'd give him a 3 year deal at market value but I think he's pivotal to what Flores is expecting. Nothing but personal hunch there.
