So this morning's conclusion from Phil is when your team has a plethora of high-cost, old veteran deadwood needing to be cut in order to get on the right side of the cap, hoping for/posting about such cuts equates to.. you guessed it... tanking.

You did talk about Harry, Kendricks, and others that were old....but you know it wasn't just the old guys. You can conclude what makes you feel better I guess.

The conclusion is simply you are taking some sad pleasure in distorting my posts and thoughts. There is no need to feel better about any conclusion because I know the words, intentions, and reasoning of the posts.

It wasn't just the old guys. Really? Oh so tell all-knowing one. So I wanted Darrisaw gone? Addison gone? Bynum gone? Any other valuable core player who wasn't an underperforming, high priced vet... gone?

Provide just one post showing this.

What are you trying to prove? Do you need validation? A win of some sort?

In the meantime, take a lesson in sports tanking vs. rebuilding. Wait, that however would require critical thinking, which you lack, so forget that idea.

Is there a way I can set things up to where I only read what someone posted last, with out the long white quotations that come with it ?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. But can't be done on our end Marty. I believe the program for this forum would have to be modified.

I know on some pro-boards I post on it only displays about 3 quotes and the older quotes fall off automatically.

Yeah, how impressive was that.

Howie Roseman just flat out values the trenches. Jalen Carter falling to them in the draft didn't hurt.

I totally agree with you guys on how annoying it is to see the lengthy posts keep getting lengthier as heck. I'm not very tech savvy but I thought you could delete older portions of quotes prior to posting in I fact I thought I had done that in the past.

OK, here's a truncated version of yesterday's to and fro with Phil:

Weird many said tank last year and now they should of beat everyone this year.

Many were not calling for a tank last year (the offseason of 2023). Rather, they were calling for a rebuild. There were differing opinions of how extensive that rebuild should have been and more than a few posters wanted to target the overpriced and underachieving vets, but the point a rebuild has a different meaning and context than a tank.

That should do it.

I said going into the playoffs that the two worst offensive lines in the playoffs were the Vikings and the Chiefs, and that it would be the ultimate undoing of the Vikings down the stretch. The Vikings nearly got their quarterback killed and the fans completely bailed on him following the loss. The Chiefs did the same to Mahomes in the Super Bowl and their fans are hammering the offensive line.

Different fan bases with different perspective.

Minnesota won 15 games with that quarterback and offensive line. Kansas City won 16 with that quarterback and offensive line. Only one of the franchises is going to be dumb enough to bail on their quarterback.

As dominant of a front 4 performance that I can remember seeing in years.

The overwhelming pressure they got on every snap without needing to ever blitz.

Next biggest winner has to be Cooper DeJean.

What a great story. Rookie CB. Had a pick six. In the Super Bowl. Off Patrick Mahomes. ON. HIS. BIRTHDAY.

This kid is never going to have anyone he meets 1-up his story.

We don’t hate the guy. We are willing to resign him again for 10-15. The problem his is how much. Maybe you can email him and ask him to take less?

We will happily have him compete for the job.

Yeah. Mahomes and Darnold have very similar resumes.

Mahommes did look a lot like Darnold esp in the first half.

Dude was completely rattled and his footwork and throwing mechanics were gone resulting in 2 picks.

Absolutely.

But he gets the benefit of the doubt considering how many big games he's won.

I also don't think Sam was under anywhere near the pressure in his final 2 games as Mahomes was in the Super Bowl.

Sam was constantly holding the ball too long (while avoiding all the short/under stuff), Mahomes had guys all over him from the snap.

Incredible that the Philly front four did that all game. Sam had the short routes available being Det was blitzing constantly. Mahomes didn't have that luxury.

That's a big overlook in Brad's bad argument.

The resumes are just a little different when you consider Sam has never won a playoff game, and lost a big game that would have given the Vikings home field and a bye, while Mahomes has gotten a few byes, won some playoff games to get to 5 Super Bowls in 6 years, and won 3 of them.

I thought I saw a stat on ESPN that said that Mahome's teams have been behind by 10 or more points in each of his 5 Super Bowl appearances.

If it's true that Mahome's teams have all been behind by 10 or more points in all 5 of the Super Bowls he played in, then there is a similarity with the two: Darnold's teams have been behind by 10 or more in each playoff game where he played, and in each game he appeared in where a first round bye was possible.

Well there you go. Of course the difference is where Mahomes led furious comebacks, Sam curled up in the fetal position.

If that was in response to my post previously thank you Bill. I couldn't think of the word truncated. Seems like a logical good solution and help make the board easier to keep up with and follow.
