Wentz Rush and Lance are still out there. I include Lance as I doubt Dallas can afford an 8 million backup.

9 new signings
5 resigned
6 clear vacant positions
2 more vacant positions to get to 53 depending on 2 vs 3 QBs, # on OL, WR, DB, etc

It looks like the D is about done, although IMO CB is risky.
Need backups at the skill positions.

Draft prediction: CB, RB, filler.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Shaq Griffin back for one more year.

I think Shaq and Gillmore signed late in the offseason. It might happen depending on how the draft falls.

We are?

Cousins' contracts are unicorns. His next one will be a one-year deal to be a backup for $22M, $15M guaranteed. He'll think it's a bargain.

Finally, someone mentioned Cousins so I didn't have to do it. ;)

Give him 1 year as a back up no more $ than Darnold got, fine, other than that, no deal.

It's time he gives something back or maybe call it a career

it'll be a russell wilson deal, atlanta is paying cousins for 2025 - we pay vet minimum....

ATL paid his 10M bonus. They probably want to get something for him instead of just releasing him.

Get Wentz or Lance. Maybe both.

I don’t think Cousins takes a backup job here for any amount. Nor do I think he’d agree to start under a 1 year deal with JJM breathing down his neck.

supposedly he made some comments that he was good with being qb#2 and coming back with the vikes...i don't know if he still has a place in mpls, but his wife and kids were happy there....

After months of Darnold nonsense, let's tee up Cousins for a month!

Maybe this will quiet some folks: The Atlanta Falcons kept the veteran quarterback on their roster past 4 p.m. ET Saturday, triggering the guarantee on a $10 million roster bonus due in 2026.

Maybe trade a late round 2026 draft pick for Will Levis and let the QB whisperer work?

Trade: 49ers are trading Jordan Mason to the Minnesota Vikings. Viking are signing Mason to a 2-year deal with over $7 million fully guaranteed at signing with a maximum value of $12m. Negotiated by Jason & Michael Katz .

Wow, they are really making this draft a BPA thing. Besides BoQB, who's left? Another CB, LB or get a young DT to groom since the new guys are a bit older?

I doubt it. KOC is on record as not liking his game.

I like Mason. Not a burner, but a big strong back.

Over 5 YPC each in his 3 years. 800 yards last season.

Jordan Mason, acquired by the Vikings, had three 100-yard rushing games last season. One of them was against the Vikings on Sept. 15 at U.S. Bank Stadium. He rushed for 100 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown and caught one pass for 4 yards. He played in 12 games last season.

The Vikings got an up close and personal view of Mason’s ability in week two last season, when the normally stout Vikings’ run defense gave up 100 yards on 20 carries (5.0 average) to Mason, including 69 yards after contact.

That turned out to be pretty typical for Mason last season, as he finished the season with a 5.2 average yards per carry and a 5.3 average for his career. Last season, he had the 7th highest average yards after contact per carry, besting backs like Saquon Barkeley, Jahymr Gibbs, and Bijon Robinson.

I love this signing. A perfect compliment to Jones, IMO. If we don't any obvious needs at #97, get Skattebo for that bruiser inside the 5.

I really liked what the Vikings did this past week in free agency and believe they have set themselves up well prior to the draft. I just wish we get the backup quarterback situation resolved without Rodgers being the solution.
