Vikings special teams are tied with Wash. for last place in the league with 4 fumbles. Stats show Myles Price has 4 fumbles, including the knucklehead play yesterday.

Another gap the regime overlooked.

Read a striking comparo. Since 2010, the NFL's designated dysfunctional team, the Jets, have won two playoff games. Since 2010, the Vikings have won two playoff games.

After looking it up, saw a couple of tidbits:
- 1987 is the last time we won two playoff games in a season.
- 1-4 Wild Card games since 2010.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/min/playoffs.htm

For the Wilf's the main stat is this......
2005: The Wilf family purchased the team for $600 million.
2025 (August): The team's valuation is $6.28 billion, with a projected valuation of around $6.8 billion from other sources

They are making money hand over fist, why change anything.....

That's exactly it. And for personal achievements, look no further than the new stadium that taxpayers helped fund. They are still getting kudos from the 31 owners of the club... "And that pull tab gimmick... BRILLIANT."

Lots of KAM and KOC glazers seem to be doing a 180 today.

Even though we warned them to look at the process and not the results

There were a lot of dark clouds surrounding the building of this team that were ignored

Folks are right, the results since the Wilfs took over have not been there. I do believe they do want to win, they've done a good job at righting the ship and avoiding large pockets of futileness.

They need to take a hard look at where the team is vs 4 years ago. In today's NFL 4 years is an eternity. This isn't baseball or football from the 80's where it take 5-10 year to build something. This was supposed to be the bright, young team to lead this franchise into the future.

They are currently as dysfunctional as any team in the league right now

And wiht the money the Wilfs make buying out both KOC and KAM are peanuts to them.

Lots of quotes in there. He's probably a total head case right now. And practicing dropbacks when he walks his dogs? What is this, Pop Warner?

KOC screwing up inexperienced QBs reminds me of Zimmer with DBs insisting they line up in exact spots.

Enough of the pocket passer, play action stuff. It's not working.

No huddle, RPO, roll outs. Try something different.

Are our RBs no good out of RPO? Does the OLine not understand how to run RPO?

I think this is what gets so many coaches fired. Not adapting

We all hate him, but Sean Peyton can coach
All that success he had with Drew Brees as a pocket passer, and then you look at how he’s utilized Bo Nix

He did it with the Passtronaut Dobbs. So it's not like it something foreign to him(KOC)

It doesn't mean you have to totally abandon the play action pass deep shots. Just give the defense something else to think about. It looks like defenses know what is coming.

14-3

Go root for Seattle. You Darnold sucking troll..

It's not about Darnold, it's about having a quarterback that went 14-3 with the exact same clowns around him. I tried to tell you guys, don't change what is working.

It ain't easy to go 14-3.

While I agree with this post are you saying it was easy to go 13-4? Because we were both ready to dump Cousins after that playoff game.

Cousins was at a very different point in his career. He was at the end of his career and no way were the Vikings going to give him the kind of money he wanted. Darnold was entering his prime.

I know it sounds like a logical argument when you only talk about the records. 14-3 is not much different than 13-4. However, they were at very different points in their respective careers.

Fair enough. I'll agree with them being at different points. I liked Sam but didn't think he'd get us there. If he leads Seattle to a playoff win in the very first year and looks good doing it I may have to admit I'm wrong. At least he can complete a 15 yard pass without it seeming to be a miracle.

The ending was rough for Sam. The offensive line was a complete mess and solid defensive coordinators had figured that out. The Rams sacked him nine times. Not many guys are going to have a good ending with that scenario.

I will always choose results over hope.

Even the mighty Mahommes looked pedestrian in the SB w/o good protection.

Exactly

Of course they know what is coming. Every play that KOC calls has certain player groupings so anybody can just look at who is on the field at any given time and figure out which of the 5 or 6 plays use that grouping.....

The way our OLine has played this year, I would give us maybe 2 more wins with Darnold. Baltimore and Chicago seemed winnable with better QB play. Maybe Philly but it seemed like they could get whatever they(Eagles) wanted offensively if they needed it.

Yeah, we don't know if RPO would work, but my god he's a disaster in the pocket. Looks jittery, misses open guys and then makes terrible throws. Losing confidence by the series

Some of these all 22's oh my god, I think it's far worse than what we are even seeing.

I think the team quit on him a bit yesterday too.
Krammer reported something was off in the locker room this summer.
I don't think the verterans like how he was just handed the job.

Stats I saw say 3000 yards his 2nd year. To his credit, Darnold didn't have much talent around him. But, also, got alot of meaningless garbage yards in blow out losses.

McCarthy has 6 games to show something. Not expecting much this week because SEA defense is fast and nasty.

Edit. I see you were talking about college stats. C'mon Arlowe, Sean Mannion lit up the Pac12 back in the day.

I think the point is we never even saw JJ McDoofus light up Rutgers. Don't draft someone that high that couldn't tear up the competition in college. Thats just my lame opinion.

McCarthy was playing with a concussion. That may explain some things. Sounds like he's doubtful for next week's game.

Night and day

Will it be any better with RPO? Maybe not. But at least try it.

He did it with the Passtronaut Dobbs. So it's not like it something foreign to him(KOC)

It doesn't mean you have to totally abandon the play action pass deep shots. Just give the defense something else to think about. It looks like defenses know what is coming.

RPO. No RPO. Pocket passer. No pocket passes.

It doesn't matter if your quarterback isn't worth a shit. It's like rearranging the deck furniture on the Titanic.

Darnold ran into icebergs for 5-6 years. Finally figured it out.

Time will tell if JJM can.

Darnold threw for 4,100 yds his second year
JJ never broke 3,000 in 2 seasons despite an extra game

Honestly I hadn't looked up JJM college stats until now. They are pretty impressive for a run first team. Final year 72% passer, 200 yards per game, 9 yards per attempt. 5:1 TD to INT ratio

Obviously it hasn't translated to the pros. Like I said, he has 6 games to prove himself. Or we look for another QB.

McCarthy was playing with a concussion. That may explain some things. Sounds like he's doubtful for next week's game.

It's not a good excuse. I think it happened on his 10 yard run at end of game. He looked like he was woozy and teammate pulled him off the ground. Helped him get back to huddle.

He had 55 minutes of unconcussed play.

If Brosmer can keep us in game against that defense on the road, we might have something.

Having said that, there are a lot of other issues at play here as well, as nearly every other big move the Vikings made this offseason has backfired spectacularly. In no particular order:

The Vikings made Byron Murphy Jr. one of the ten highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL this offseason. Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I’m having trouble recalling one meaningful play he’s made this season.

The Vikings spent big money on Jon Allen and Javon Hargrave in the hopes of upgrading their pass rush. There have been multiple weeks where they’ve been outplayed by Jalen Redmond, Levi Drake Rodriguez, and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins. They also traded away Harrison Phillips, who seems like a guy they could use.

Will Fries and Ryan Kelly were supposed to solidify the interior of the offensive line. Fries has fallen well short of expectations, while Kelly has once again been plagued by the concussion issues he dealt with in Indianapolis.

If it is the same cap relief, release Hargrave now and play TID and Williams more. No one is trading for Hargrave's contract in the off season.

Has Fries been bad? Thought he was a bright spot.
