I wanted that post to stand on its own. Now, let's address the other elephant in the room. Until KOC calls plays to enhance his offenses strengths, it all doesn't matter. I will die on this hill. He is a great culture building CEO type coach, but he SUCKS as an OC

Preaching to the choir here Jeff. Teasley needs to tell KOC he is the head coach, but needs to hire an OC to run the offense. KOC and his offense remind me of Chili and his kick ass offense. We need an OC that can mold the offense on what the players he has do best, not mold the players to do what he wants.....

Problem with bringing in a new OC (I assume your talking about next season) would O'Connell let the guy do his job or constantly be meddling? He'd probably be overruling play calls ect. O'Connell just needs to go away.

Not if BFlo is the head coach.....

It is startling how many situational decisions Kevin O’Connell gets wrong.

Punting with 3 min left and putting an exhausted defense back on the field that just got trucked on the previous 10 min drive. That was about as cowardly of a decision as it gets.

And it wasn’t even his worst decision on that drive.

On a critical 3rd and 4, you call a quick easy play to get the first. Not another deep ball.

And you even only consider the deep pass on 3rd if you are convinced you are going for it on 4th.

He coaches like a 10-year old with ADHD playing Madden. It takes him 30 seconds to scroll through the playbook, when he’s just going to call for a bomb anyways.

BINGO!!!

There were some bad decisions here to be sure. I don't know why they went for it on fourth down the previous drive and opted not to here.

Just didn't make sense. I really think KOC needs to give up play calling and concentrate on getting better at big game decisions like this. This kind of shit isn't new.

It’s the worst offense in the league…

I’m seeing a collapsed team in a month.

See how this tastes on December 2nd…

Watching the defense fly around in the 1st half was entertaining.

Offense not so much.

Murray looks like he's overthinking which is more than likely a result of O'Connell getting in his head. There's zero rhythm or timing. Even the bulk of the run plays look poorly designed and executed. This is coaching.

The last thing needed is an OC calling plays only to be derailed by KOC making the big decisions. This is his 5th year in the same role. He doesn't have an instinct for a lot of these things, and no amount of concentration or having more breathing room to make a decision is going to make him better at them.

Then the only option is to bench the ineffective QB and hope that Wentz can run this shit better.

They would literally need an OC that calls plays within 5 seconds to allow for KOC to spend 30 seconds debating the merit of the call.

This is a response to a question of if the Ravens should trade for a QB if both Jackson and Huntley are going to miss time, but it applies equally to us as well:

Austin Mock: First, being desperate and turning to the trade market is a dangerous combination. Second, I’m not even sure who you’d trade for at this point. Kirk Cousins is probably the only starter who makes sense, but I’m not sure if the Las Vegas Raiders would be willing to do that. Mac Jones will certainly be buzzy, but I’m skeptical what we saw in half a season under Kyle Shanahan in the 49ers’ system is the type of production you’ll get.

Ted Nguyen: I’m not sure who would be available who could help them at this point. Cousins is leading the league in touchdown passes, but I think the Raiders are intent on keeping him as Fernando Mendoza’s mentor. Maybe the Bears would be willing to trade Tyson Bagent and go with Case Keenum as their backup. It would take maybe a second-round pick for the 49ers to trade Mac Jones. There just aren’t a lot of options.

And in his Monday news Conference KOC is standing behind Kyler Murray as his QB.

Well, I used to like you KOC.

Now you can suck it. You are committing your team to failure.
Your Star WR is getting exceedingly frustrated.
Your offense is a sputtering mess.
Your in game decisions are shit
And now you are going to keep running out a clear failure at the most important position on the field? You are careening towards termination and utter collapse of a team with a once in decade defense.

The window is slamming shut. Only a blind idiot can't see that cause numero uno for this teams coming failures will be Numero Uno.

Who exactly is going to save the day?

Are we willing to mortgage the future knowing this team likely has enough holes (IOL, run defense, run game, etc) that we realistically are not super bowl caliber quiet yet.

we are still digging out from a 3 year draft and free agency mess.

This season has been a nice surprise, but there are still several things to fix.

This is what coaches get paid to do. We all want Tom Brady 5 games in, but that is not reality.
Let's see what KOC and Kyler can work out.
Chase Daniels like a lot he sees on film......it is faaaaar from perfect, in fact not average at this point.

I'm willing to see what they can make of this. This stuff ain't easy, look at what a disaster the great Herbert is this year with a new system. Geno, Cousing, Jones all these guys are very mid cast-offs, that aint taking us anywhere.

Reported by NFC North that the Vikings had a players only meeting today that included Flores but no O'Connell.

Interesting if true.

Absolutely, but he is the guy that is here, who has been learning the system.
It was stupid IMO that he didn't get all the 1 reps in camp.

I'm disolving KOC of mis-managing things. I just think he is our best option at this point. He is playing the worst football of his career. I wish KOC would watch Payton and Nix.....

I just don't there is a better options at this point. LV is in the playoff race and Mendoza does not look ready. They ain't gonna tell Crosby there are playing for next year IMO.

And last year in 8 starts for SF he had 13 TD and 6 int with a QB rating of 97.4.

Watching the film and I still don’t have a a reason for why Murray sucks all of a sudden. It truly dosent make any sense. Hes playing by far the worst football of his career for no apparent reason.

Things are wide open in the system and he’s just can’t hit anything consistently

Arizona was willing to pay Murray $30million to leave town....think about that and then tell me we made a good deal signing him.

Yes, we made a good deal signing him. Go back and look at what was available at the time. And for $1.3M. No draft picks given up of course. He was a crap shoot playing with house money.

Exactly. From a financial standpoint it was pretty responsible. Everyone knew there was a chance it wouldn't translate to the field.
