Trading for Taylor would make the Vikings a SB contender, so it won't be done.

No it wouldn’t.

A great QB is not needed to win the SB, see Darnold last year. And how great is Hurts ? Top 10 all time ?

Strong defense, and great run game is what is needed.

Pro Bowl, maybe even just serviceable guard, and then a bell cow RB with Jonathan Taylor.

Preserving Wentz until December 6th, so he can get 4 regular season starts, followed by 3 or 4 playoff wins is out of the box, simply brilliant, it was suggested by someone earlier in this thread, and I agree with it. It is similar to when veterans that haven't played for awhile, want to sign and start playing for a team in December. It was rumored last season that Aaron Donald might once again join the Rams last December.

The problem is you are switching between Kyler and Wentz.....it is like 33 year old Tommy Kramer to 33 year old Steve Dills.
It isn't 24 year old Wentz to 25 year old Foles or Drew Bledsoe to very young Tom Brady.

The surprise to me is they announced it so early.....maybe it is a negotiating tactic.....no idea.

You think they're trying to keep Murray's price down to resign him?

Can you sign for less than the minimum?

Its pretty bad when people are defending Murray and his 150 yards a game as if its irreplaceable. I don't understand people sometimes.

Wentz could never replicate 150 yards passing and maybe 1 td pass in a game! Impossible!

I. Hoping the tactic is to force KOC to get an actual play caller, who KOC has very little control over.

We need someone “ upstairs” who can look at down/ distance quickly and get a play to the offense in less than 20 seconds.

KOC playcalling is both slow and garbage at times.

More so than not.

We are not trading for Jonathan Taylor, that would be the smart thing to make the Vikings a SB contender.

Wentz starting at home against Buffalo, Vikings could pull an upset.

Tell us again how acquiring David Boston, would have made us a SB contender/ winner..

Dan

I can tell you that Dexter Lawrence would have helped the Vikings defense.

I can tell you that JJ McCarthy probably won't be out of the league in 2 years, will be a starter, and could be a great starter within a year or 2.

I can tell you that I have had the guts to push for many more players than you have vied for. Like others, you choose to point out David Boston, ignoring the many, many times I have been right, because it's so much easier to knock someone for the one thing they got wrong.

I liked Breece Hall last year, the Vikings still might sign him, but I don't see him as a needle mover with this team.

Jonathon Taylor would make the Vikings a Super Bowl contender right now.

Should the Vikings upset the Bills, or come very close to beating them, the Vikings WILL be thought of as contenders.

And with Wentz starting, I see it as a decent possibility, about a 60% chance in my eyes, even though the odds would say more like a 40% chance of either of those happening.

But you never know with the NFL, the Vikings could lose this game by 40 points.

Eh you have not been right much at all. You presume your out of the box or brilliant plan will lead us to multi-year Super Bowl contention. But its all just internal hearsay in your brain housing group. Time and again nobody backs up your plans/theories/fantasies.

This weird thing you have about having the 'guts' to propose whatever, just how does that make you feel good? Like manly?

You posted so much about David Boston and Bernardo Harris that separate threads were created for your fantasies.

You claim you've been 'right' so much more often.

When HAVE you been right?

I have been right about many, many things.

I can't mention a David Boston for Dan, or for Bill, because they don't have the guts to suggest a player that others might not have thought about.

They simply go along with the current zeitgeist, and criticize anyone I bring up.

My words on a simple football game, dumbed down for Bill:

1) the Vikings will be considered a contender by winning the game, or keeping it close.

2) I am going slightly against the odds by suggesting that the Vikings keeping it close or winning, seems more likely than their getting dominated.

3) The Vikings getting blown out is a possibility. I threw that in there, so if it happens, those that are now assuming that, can feel good about themselves. I would be a little bit surprised if that happens, but not shocked.

I avoided putting in any sorts of numbers or percentages this time as that seems to easily confuse Bill

Who cares if they keep it close. If the offense looks like complete crap again nobody is buying into this team as a contender.

I am right that Bill is often an a$$hole and a bully, who never proposes FAs, or even ideas that are unique, and instead spends his time knocking my posts, or Brad's, or Phil's, being snarky and attention seeking.

I have been right about many FAs, recently, I was right that the Vikings could have signed Dexter Lawrence, and he would have helped the defense be even more dominant. I was right about the Vikings having an interest in a RB like Breece Hall, last year and this year, and it could still happen this year, but Jonathan Taylor is a better option. I was right about JJ McCarthy, Bill thinks he will be out of the league in 2 years, and I believe he will be a decent QB, maybe even a good QB already this year.

I have been right about many, many other things, but I also suggest 100 things to Bill's 1, and Bill might be right about that 1 thing, as that is the status quo that many others are talking about.

It will be interesting to hear some players Bill and Dan suggest to help the Vikings before the trade deadline, since they are so full of ideas

I'm seeing ZERO actual evidence. Not one iota of proof. In other words you live in a world devoid of reality and instead fill it with a world of your own fabrications.

What are those 100 'suggested' things you've been right about? Because my count is zero.

Bill, I just cannot wait for your ideas for some players the Vikings can pick up before the trade deadline

Bill, maybe you can be so bold as to present us with some generic wisdom, like positions of need. Let's go with QB, RB and Guard

My points about you are spot on, the evidence is in your posts, and your lack of presenting any ideas.

Maybe you're a little bit slow Bill, maybe you don't know how to count.

I have been right about many FAs, recently, I was right that the Vikings could have signed Dexter Lawrence, and he would have helped the defense be even more dominant. The Vikings might be undefeated right now if they had signed him. Lawrence has definitely made an impact on the Cincinnati defense, and they are at an 88% chance of making the playoffs. Lawrence would have helped the Vikings to win by wider margins, and the Vikings might well be undefeated right now, if he had been added to the defense, he is an impact player at DT.

I was right about Breece Hall being a great RB, and he finished strong last season, and started strong this season. The Vikings are rumored to have an interest in him this year, and it could still happen this year, but Jonathan Taylor is a better option. Taylor would make the Vikings a SB contender, if they aren't already, and I am right about both of those things, even though it appears by some that it's unlikely the Vikings trade for him.

I was also right about JJ McCarthy, Bill thinks he will be out of the league in 2 years. I believe he will be a decent QB, and has proven to already be that this year, and he will likely prove that even moreso this season.

The only zero is Bill's presentation of any FAs that might help the Vikings before the trade deadline

These types of claims and remarks pretty much answer my question. And that answer is you Marty have a vastly different definition about being right than I. For example, if the Vikings actually signed Lawrence and the Vikings defense became more dominant then I would say you were right. But Lawrence, as you subsequently pointed out in another post where you doubled down on him, plays for the Bengals. He does not play for the Vikings. So statements like these are not applicable.
