Interesting take on the fans standpoint. Usually if you win like Harbaugh has the people get behind him. I'm a little surprised there is a split there.

Aside from the Niner fans here in the desert we're close enough to pick up KNBR out of SF. It's a big sports talk station and I've heard several press conference clips from Harbaugh. At the beginning everyone was in love with him and then people started noticing that he would go off on incoherent tangents when asked about simple things. Show hosts started pointing things like this out during the weeks before the Harbaugh Bowl. Don't know if the pressure of playing his big brother was getting to him, but, more and more callers and hosts were puzzled by his behavior and comments. After the SB loss it seemed to me that most Niner fans were still very happy with Harbaugh because the team played very well even though they lost. This past year they started again questioning his bizarre comments during pressers and over the top boorish behavior towards not only other coaches but management personnel. The majority still love him, especially casual fans because of their winning. However it's entertaining for me to hear the ever growing number of fans that think he's becoming a nutcase and will soon start losing his locker room. Past players have speculated about how long it will be before current players start turning a deaf ear to his childish rantings.


After rereading your post Harbaugh's behavior sound alot like hoe Denny Green would go off the deep end.

It always makes me laugh when I remember that KQ cartoon of

"Denny makes a deal with the Devil"

Don't remember that. Got a link to it?


I tried to find it Hagar but KQ's cartoon section was removed from their website many years ago. Apparently, the content was to offensive. They had other cartoons about then Gov Ventura and I think that pushed it over the edge.

When I googled it all it would give me is their facebook page.

Maybe one of our fellow posters know how to find it.

Let me tell you, those cartoons were hillarious.

What is the best way to dress a burger in your opinion?

For most of my life it was pretty damn simple. Plain hamburger/bun, mustard, ketchup, relish (in that order!) and maybe a little onion if I felt like it.


Now:

Angus beef. Buttered and toasted ciabatta bun - cheddar cheese, 2 slices of bacon, half an avocado, jalapeno, lightly grilled red and sweet onion, BBQ sauce (tequila/lime/habanero), mayo, chili garlic sauce.

Or NOTHING!

I might never eat McDonalds again.

Option 1: Cold pepperjack cheese, one slice of tomato, dill hamburger pickles, Heinz ketchup and Plochman's yellow mustard.

Option 2: Melted pepperjack cheese, dill hamburger pickles and a fiery (but cold temperature) BBQ sauce.

And I felt it could use a touch of something so maybe adding pickle would help.

Not sure pickles and cheese go together that well though.

The trick is to make sure the pickles and cheese don't touch each other.

I'd recommend putting the pickles (and tomato if you go that way) on the bottom bun. Also the ketchup and mustard (or BBQ sauce) should go wherever the pickles go. Pickles slide too much when they touch cheese. Avoid that at all costs.

And here I didn't think it could get any better.

I think the crunch and taste the pickle will add is worth exploring. The burger the way I do it is pretty savory...and a little spicy...the pickle might play well with that.

I agree!

I'm not opposed to some of the other things you put on your burger. Some of it just sounds like too much work.

We typically mix in some McCormick's seasoning salt (I think that's what it is) and Worcestershire sauce with the ground beef before we grill it.

Preferred cheeses: American (melts best); pepper jack. Cheese has to be melted.

Veggies: lettuce, tomato, pickle. Cool and crispy.

Other: bacon.

Seasoniong: salt/pepper or McCormick's.

Don't mind the occasional mushroom/swiss burger for shits and giggles.

Other burgers I Enjoy

Buffalo (the city not the animal):
Franks & melted butter , Blue Cheese (melted on burger)

I also like a Thai peanut sauce on a burger instead of a barbeques sauce or catsup. This does go well with pickles.

Either the Bacon Blucy from the Blue Door, served with cajun tots and a draft Surly, or a burger with sauteed onions, bacon, ultra-sharp cheddar, lettuce, raw onion and BBQ sauce (sauteed onions under the burger, everything else on top) served on a potato roll. If I'm making it, the onions will be sauteed with serrano peppers.

Different.

Right down to calling it castsup.

Thai peanut sauce you say. Think I'd like to try that. Probably better than the Twilight Zone inspired peanut butter burger. Tried that once. MEH.

Bacon Blucy. These stuffed burgers seem to be quite popular lately. There an advantage to having it in the middle like that?

I always enjoy bleu cheese on a burger.
In Omaha we have a Haystack burger that includes ham, cheese and a fried egg.
