Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. I'm still floating on air about that grant and I'm motivated to keep applying elsewhere. As you might expect I also have sent in applications to the Vikings and the Wild - and in the spring the Twins do appearances so I'm hoping to coordinate something for a May school event. Each time one funder recognizes us with a donation it pushes us up a notch for the others that we apply to.

And yes, I apply for grants from non-sports related foundations too.

Maybe you can write the 30 for 30 on the Timberwolves themselves.

I'd call it 30 for Nothing.

I thought the KG years were marvelous. We didn't advance in the playoffs except for the one time but 8 playoffs in a row winning 50 games or more was great stuff. If Cassell didn't get knocked out of the playoffs I am convinced we would have had an NBA champion in 2004 IIRC.

I'll have a chat with someone about that.

If feels great to be 'up'.

I earned this up. I turned things around when they were pretty bleak. It's not the product of a surge at the whim of my brain. Not that those ever last.

Got up by getting down. Lost 21 pounds in 18 days now. Plateaued for a bit but moving my butt at work is already paying dividends.

Plus my b/c numbers are down. I think it goes:

Jesus
Me
bunch of people tied for 3rd.

Is he comparing himself to our Lord?! In blood glucose counts I am.

I'm hitting 5's all the time. Not bad for a guy with a 10.7 fasting glucose a few weeks ago. (Don't forget to x 18 to get your dumb American numbers)

Even with the added challenge of eating right working nights.

A lot of work ahead but it feels real nice to have things headed in the right direction.

I was out playing with my old girl just a while ago. Through that fog walking was more about getting a job done. Droning through all miserable because everything hurt (a bit) and my blood sugars were so out of whack. I was middle linebacker like juking and moving out there. It's hard at this point to even imagine how bad I was taxing my system.

Thanks to those that played a part in encouraging me to battle back.

Just change "fog walking" to "dog walking" and it all makes sense.

(I think)

I was trying to say walking the dog used to be about getting a job done I.E., her bathroom business. It used to be through a fog, feeling crappy ect...

Just that - the last walk I gave her run with the lead and the old girl and I were out playing where I was all middle LB like...

Her being 13 might have played a part making me look good out there. Oldest dog I've ever had. Since I've been an adult and not forced to live by the one strike and you're out rule enforced by my father and the constant recycling of dogs and I've been able to give them forever homes I've lost my 1st two at 7 and 10. 25 years wouldn't be enough. I'm hoping to get a good couple more years out of this one. I think her good genes will get her there.

My posting my 33,333'rd post on March the 3rd @3:33 isn't looking likely. 2016 is 2+1+6=9 which is three 3's as well.

I had practiced the timing of posts and everything...

I'm going to put the blame squarely on you guys. Not giving me enough to bounce off of. Thanks.

Happy Birthdy, Ricky J! Red Lobster charter states that on your birthday, a person has to eat one of their biscuits for every year old you are. Good Luck!

No wrestling today, Steve. The biscuits were great! Probably only the second time I've been to Red Lobster. I had the land & sea

If anyone wants the recipe for those cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster I have it. Years ago they printed it somewhere and I made them. They turned out exactly like the ones at the restaurants.

Nice! When I get a little loose on the carbs, those things hit the spot. There is a box version you can buy at the store that gets pretty close, but they are not a perfect substitute for the ones at the restaurant.

I may as well post it right here (I should have just done that in the first place ) for anyone who wants it:

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

2 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) cold butter
1 heaping cup grated cheddar cheese
3/4 cup cold whole milk
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Topping:
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. dried parsley flakes
Pinch salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas.

Add cheddar cheese, milk and garlic powder. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.

Drop approximately 1/4 cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop. Bake 15 to 17 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.

When you take the biscuits out of the oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl in the microwave. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley flakes. Use a brush to spread the garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits.

Makes 12 biscuits.
