Taking the day off today to drive to VA hospital in Mpls. About 4 hrs one way.

My dad is having an appointment and the Dr wanted to have a meeting with immidiate family members afterward.

I know this is bad news.

First off I want to thank everyone for your support.

The good news is my Dad is in no danger anytime soon.
The bad news is he has stage 4 Alzheimers.

He seems to be aware of what is going on around him but he has trouble finding the right words when he talks.
His blood sugar has been good so the fact that he hasn't had any problems with his feet or legs is also positive.

My sister takes care of him but prior to this diagnosis refused to bring him to a medical doctor last year when my brothers and I suggested it.

There is a lot more in regard to my sister that my brothers and I need to decide on what to do. I don't want to get into this yet but I'm afraid before all is said and done things could get ugly.

Again, thanks to you all for your support. I means a lot.

Screening and Diagnosis:
<5.5 % Normal
5.5% - 5.9 % At risk
6.0% - 6.4 % Prediabetes
>OR= 6.5 % Diabetes Mellitus

I wanted under 5.5

I do not know my exact number from where I started but if I had to guess I believe it was between 7.5 and 8.
