I don't much care for any of the teams still playing. Not really enjoying all the clutch and grab and interference old style hockey either. I don't know why playoff hockey has to be a completely different game favoring the goon style of play......

I'm hoping for Ottawa. They've never been my team in the past but I like their makeup. A bunch of unknowns who just grind it out.

Preds just seized up last night at the biggest moment--they had a nearly 2 minute 5 on 3, down 1, and got exactly ZERO shots on goal! I don't think I've ever seen our Wild grip the sticks THAT tight. The series ended when that PK ended.

Huge Duck gut-check
Helluva win
Hope they finish them

Ducks were idiots the final period .... But how does Nashville get away with two blatant penalties on the game tier?
Talk about blatant home ice pandering.
That ref crew was horrendous.
Which fits, there.
Still planning to go there next year. Saving some extra bail money.

Still amazed by the strength of a guy like Getzlaf
I've never liked him but man he's a horse
And Kesler, I'd kill to have that asshole taking face offs for me.
These are warriors who refuse to get beaten when it counts.
Really respect what they're getting out of this bunch.
Bieksa as well, just a dink, but man he wants to win.

Screamed at Ducks for being that dumb
Laughed at the Preds for choking like you said
So true .... The gripped their sticks like Pommer with an open net

You're killing me, my man! I thought you were all-in on the Preds.

I'll admit there are some bad qualities there. But the team itself is a lot of fun. I certainly can't claim to be some big hockey fan myself, but being from Alaska/MN, it was so weird when I moved here seeing hockey. I was very skeptical at first. But their front office is incredible in how they've promoted/marketed everything around that team and made it a true place to be in the city. It doesn't hurt when you have a couple of country music star connections to the team to help too. But it's as fun as any environment I can think of for hockey that I've seen. Truly awesome. And lots of great people, some of them friends of mine, running that place. I don't make it to enough games with my crazy schedule, and I'm intentionally not going to any playoff games since I've been a sports jinx this year, but it's awesome.

Last night was gut-wrenching, but hopefully they can still get on a roll. If they somehow hoist a Stanley Cup, this city will throw the biggest party that any city has ever seen. I'm not even kidding.

PS I already hate Ryan Kessler on an almost Aaron Rodgers-like level. Is he the dirtiest player to ever hit the ice?

Tell your friends its NOT truck-pulling.
The moron gets removed from the mic .... I'd have been on board for a Preds win til the end.
At this point, hope the building collapses.

Johansen out for the remainder
That's gonna be tough to overcome.
But teams do.

haha. i hate that announcer too. My guy is their radio guy, Pete Weber. Who is awesome. One of the best catch phrases around just started in the playoffs: "Go Ape, everybody!"

Sure seemed like last night was maybe the series, whichever way it went. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm waiting for an answer on my Ryan Kessler question, my hockey expert friend.

Who hurt him when he was a kid?

Can tell you haven't been keeping up

I have PUKED in my mouth when he wears a USA sweater ... I have to pull for him

He's vile. But one hell of a player and that guy you hate to see on the other team.
And hes been at his best (or is it worst) this series .. he KNOWS his role
And no one plays it better
Stone cold killer

Kessler is a prick of the first order. The kind of guy where if he were run big time into the end boards and was seriously injured I would have a little smile inside me while saying, "gee that's too bad" outwardly......

A question for my fellow hockey fans: is Karlsson as good as the great Niklas Lidstrom? His play over the course of his career has been very good, but he's looked great in the playoffs.

Kessler fashions himself as an "old time" hockey player, but there is a difference between playing to the edge and going over it. He is a big, talented player, but he can be really goonish when the mood hits him. But, as SoMn said, Kessler knows his role.

That asshat from Edina who I won't mentioned collected a bunch of those guys and almost made it to the top. But to answer Dustin's question, no, his isn't the dirtiest. Hard to imagine but there were guys that were way worse. Hell, we signed one of them and he had 1-tenth of the talent. Nice job!

Nashville reminds me of Dallas. A market that doesn't know anything about the game but has made the spectacle a big ass party. Traditional hockey markets will hate that kind of stuff. It's fake as shit but I admit, it can be fun.

He's completely won me over, but I'm no expert.
Love his skill set.
