If any team COULD figure out a 3-0 deficit, TB would be that team.
But still, its probably over.
Penguins seem gassed. Can't really blame most of them.
They've had their foot on the gas for a decade, so I can respect that.

For TB to be down 3 to 0 is unbelievable. Upsets in the NHL playoffs are the norm, not the exception. If there is one professional sport where if you get into the playoffs, anything can happen, it has to be hockey.

Yep, Miles
Was pretty upset about it originally, but it is what it is.
After awhile, you just settle in an enjoy the unknown and unexpected.
It has become the norm in playoff hockey.
Its all about MO Big MO.
A hot goalie like Bobrovski takes over, and reality goes out the window.
They've mentioned it a few times, but this really hits home when you think about it … Tampa never lost three in a row ALL YEAR. Now they have, in a week.

And like I said, it might not be over. That's the fun part.

If you said that the Pens and Tampa would be a collective 0-5 heading in to tonight you were either a genius or an idiot.

If you said that he Pens and Tampa would be a collective 0-6 heading in to elimination games you either a genius or a complete idiot

I wouldn't put it past them but they have to be completely demoralized. They were up 3-0 and on cruise control then threw everything they had at them last night and are still down 3-0. WOW

Amazing aint it Jeff
It was crazy how hard TB came at them in the third
And it just didn't matter with the hot goalie
Not sure I've seen the ice tilted that hard. It wasn't for long durations, but TB came in waves and never let up. Every entry was a jailbreak.

Yeap. This current version of the Wild could have started the 3rd up 8-nill and they would gotten beaten 9-8

Another crazy night
The Avs bring up a peewee and even HE scores.
This is going to really really suck … the Avs might have the brightest future of any team in the last 4 decades.
Going to blow chunks watching them climb to prominence again.
I can't stand their current players, but I do love Joe Sakic, and he is the one building an empire. Imagine that.
Their stars are all jackasses, and they are all under 23. They have a ton of draft picks coming in, and many more to come.
Lets hope for an Edmonton-type collapse.

The face of the entire 2019 playoff season can change tonight
God knows my hopes are over
We will have a very strange-looking final 8 if this keeps up.

The Preds/Stars game was fun
Because I wanted both to kill each other
And the building to blow up
Whoops, sorry. A tad harsh.
Those two franchises right now bug me as badly as any in sports.

The Toronto/Bruins series is intriguing to me.
I hate how it will end, probably with a Bruins win.
They just have some incredibly unlikable guys as well, imo.
The Leafs are incredibly strange to watch. My whole life has been spent teaching and urging zone clears. As quickly and efficiently as possible.
Toronto appears to care less about that. If its not a clear breakout that they know will turn into a jailbreak, they simply say no thanks.
Honestly, it was fascinating to me last night. Puck would come up to one of the star wings, and Mathews or Marner would simply peek up ice. If no traffic, here we go boys. If one defender was in sight, …. "oh hell no, here D you take this back" Just found it hilarious. I realize it wasn't that bad, but it cracked me up. These are elite players, and they were acting like scared JVers with no clue. I kept waiting for a D man to beat up a coupel of the kids once they got to the bench.
Watching Chara play hot potato hockey is enjoyable. He must have been told, if you keep getting turned over, you're out. Because now, he even smells that puck coming to him, he's flinging it like its on fire and he's covered in gas.

Afraid my Sharks will take one more step out of relevancy tonight. The Vegas boys are alive and well. And the Sharks are just getting tireder and tireder.

"Russian machine never break", to quote the young Ovie back in the day. What if the Russian machine takes a right in the pie hole from a bigger, stronger, uglier Russian machine? I guess we got the answer last night.

I have a question regarding the Leafs penalty kill. Did it seem like they were playing really close to the blue line? Like they were almost daring the bruins power play to dump it in and chase after it. Maybe it was my eyes, but it looked different from the typical diamond or boxes I'm used to seeing.

Definitely Joe
Forgot to say … for as much as I wanted to yell at Marner ...there he was out at the top of the zone, blocking every shot they took.
Pretty special to have one of your young kids willing to do that.
Its that time of year. you do it or you go home.

Agree tho, the PKs around the league are evolving like crazy this year.
They've amped up the pressure not just within the box but they chase relentlessly along the boards and as you say, across the top.
Its throwing some PPs off.
When the Wild would run into it, they stood ZERO chance of even controlling the puck, much less creating off of it.
As always happens .. you'll see this work, until one of the league's bright minds figures out what burns it.
When you chase aggressively, you also are opening up your most vulnerable spots to penetration from the oppositions best snipers.
The cool thing about hockey is almost every strategy or plan comes back to one thing that can beat it … decisions with puck movement. If your guys learn to move it quicker and smarter, it will defeat any plan to disrupt it.
A passed puck gets to places much quicker than a carried puck. Or a skating defender. The "hockey mind" gets more important every year.

I’m really surprised that tampa is quitting. They don’t even look like they want to be in the playoffs. 2-0 five minutes in!

NEVER in a million years thought I'd see the Pens go that quietly.
The Ning loss may be huge to everyone else, but this one was just as surprising to me.
Not that NYI moves on, but the lack of fight the Pens put up.
Crosby wouldn't shoot the damn puck. Would Not Shoot the puck.
It honestly looked like the Wild at times.
They appeared to be ok with golfing.

And that's really odd, because this was a team almost as rabid about winning as the Patriots.
(who will NOT go that quietly, trust me)

NY has some great FAs. Please watch, Fenton. Please watch. The Mn kids are fast, big, and strong.
