Agree with you Jeff
And I'm the guy watching every girls/womens national level games these days, too.
I get both sides.
Asking the NHL to be the NBA is tough.
I'm not always sure the NHL is solvent.
Lets hope they can keep plugging away and make some inroads. They deserve the same opportunities, its just a tough hockey market in some places.
Unfortunately for gals, theres probably more angst against equal rights for female players in hockey, than in any other sport.

Two unlikable teams get another chance to beat on each other...........works for me. Only one team left worth cheering for in my eyes and that's the Sharks.

Happy to see other teams like Dallas can't stand prosperity, either …
The Blues have become some sort of enigma
I'm thinking its got to be Berube
Is he beating the shit out of them when/if they lose?
Because they play like their crotch hairs are on fire.

Did you notice how many empty seats were in AA arena yesterday? My word...You have a chance to close out the 2nd round, at home, on a Sunday afternoon game and you don't sell out?

Been begging for a Sharks Cup for about a decade
It feels close every year
But I'm petrified of this Avs team
Hate em. They're young and dumb. And dangerous.
Especially if they get new life tonight.

THAT was nuts
It was the first thing I noticed,.
Hell, we were there two months ago and it was packed.
Someone needed to go to their houses and tell them what PLAYOFFS mean.
Their glass banging was hindered. I guess their ear splitting canned truck pull announcer shoulda said something.

Yawn. Another cheap shot by the Bruins. I wish fighting was still allowed. I would send Probert out against their first line forwards and let them shit themselves. Those f'ing cowards would never let that puck hit the ice.

No offense SMF, I know you like the Pats, but there are a few cities in this countries sports scene that have no room for my understanding. Boston/Philly/NO

This isn't "jealousy/envy" type shit. I've been there, just f'ng savages and they love it. They live it. It's disguising the lengths that they go through to defend their behavior.

No one hates the Bruins more than this cat
There’s no god if that weasel Marchand gets another Cup
McAvoy should get the hell beat out of him too
I agree. They have no shame in killing others to win a game
None.
Then when it’s over they’re oh such good sports.
F that. They’re nasty ass guys who play over the edge most nights.

Yep, that one played out just like I thought
Couple chances weren't finished early … knew it'd cost the Sharks in the end.
And now, its pins and needles, because you can't count on anything, its one and done.

Does it bother anyone else that the Stars are using throwback sweaters that look like North Stars sweaters?

CBJ vs Boston
Me no likey either team.
Bostons not as good as most think imo.
Rask is playing very well, which gives them a chance vs anyone.
I enjoy Tortorella. A lot. This will be a hard fought scrap start to finish.
Boston in 7
Pretty close

Dallas vs St Louis
Me no likey either team.
Dallas is ugly but effective. Bishop is a beast when he's on.
The Blues have just been solid as hell in every area.
Another bloodbath, should be. If Binnington stays hot, the Blues will move on.
Blues in 6
Pretty close

Canes vs Islanders
Should be a fun one, lots of fan interaction and loud noises.
Refs will help the Canes probably.
Hoping all the MN boys do well. They make the Isles go.
Islanders in 7
Not even close

Colorado vs Sharks
Easy pickings for me here.
Can't stand the Avs, the Sharks are my boys.
Can't see how San Jose has much left in the tank tho.
Avs might jump em quick. If they don't. The Sharks should prevail.
San Jose in 6 PLEASE
Pretty close

Canes vs Bruins
I no likey either one
I no likey Bruins a lot.
But they somehow get it done.
Canes are on a magical roll. Will it continue?
Crowd will WILL them to a couple wins.
Bruins in 7

Blues vs Sharks
I've gotten to really respect what the Blues have done.
Thinking this will be the Wilds blueprint one day.
In fact they remind me of the good Wild teams.
One star, and a lot of good role players.
So happy Sharks are in. I love their story, their grit.
Thornton said it all last night ... "we're just fun guys having fun. Don't want it to end"
Neither do I

And .. that's enough about the Sharks getting all the calls.
That jackwagon Landeskog was STANDING in the Ozone when they entered.
That's offsides.
We're gonna rewrite the rules for you, eh?
Don't give me that "didn't factor in the play" BS. Its the rule.
He finally had to admit, "I shoulda got off the ice" Thank you.
But now it'll be the talk, from here out. Poor Avs. Thats BS.

Trade acquisitions
Smart trades have been a major part of building this roster. In addition to the trades listed below, the Hurricanes acquired Aleksi Saarela via trade when they got the center and a pair of second-round picks from the New York Rangers for Eric Staal back in 2016. Saarela isn't listed here because he has skated only nine minutes in the playoffs, all in one game. Trades are listed with the most recent first.
Nino Niederreiter, RW, 26
Acquired from Minnesota Wild for center Victor Rask on Jan. 17, 2019
This is another one of those masterstroke moves that could help Waddell redefine his career as a GM after a tough run in Atlanta. Rask had six points when Waddell moved the once-promising center for Niederreiter. In the 36 games after the trade, Niederreiter had 30 points. He hasn't been as productive in the playoffs, but he's a consistent threat. Rask had three points in his 23 games with the Wild. El Nino has three years left on his current contract.

More power to them
Still don't want him back.
The guy gets more chances per game (to make a difference) than damn-near anyone in the game.
He shoots a low percentage. And airballs quite a few.

Yeah, that is/was straight BS. It's a pretty straight forward rule fellas. Deal with it.

And you are right about Pavelski. Hell of a game coming back, set the tone.

NHL Teams That Have Never Won the Stanley Cup

There are 11 current NHL teams that have never won a Stanley Cup. All are teams that joined the league since 1967.

The senior-most team that has not won a Stanley Cup is the St. Louis Blues, who entered the league in the 1967-68 season. The Blues showed promise early on, making the Stanley Cup finals in their first three seasons. The Vancouver Canucks, who joined the NHL in the 1970-71 season, also made the Stanley Cup finals three times, once in three different decades.

Four of the 11 teams have never made it to the Stanley Cup finals: the Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes franchise, the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets franchise, Minnesota Wild, and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In 2018, Washington Capitals, who joined in NHL in the 1974-75 season, finally ended their Stanley Cup drought, defeating the league's newest team, the Vegas Golden Knights. The Capitals had been to the Stanley Cup Final just once previously, losing to the Red Wings in 1998

NHL Teams With No Stanley Cups
The NHL teams that never won the Stanley Cup represent most regions of the United States and western Canada. The year they joined the NHL is in parentheses.

St. Louis Blues (1967-68)The Blues represented the Western Division (consisting exclusively of expansion teams) in the Stanley Cup Finals of 1968, 1969, and 1970.
Buffalo Sabres (1970-71)The Sabres have been to the Stanley Cup Final twice, losing to the Flyers in 1975 and Stars in 1999.
Vancouver Canucks (1970-71)The Canucks have been to the Stanley Cup Final three times, losing to the Islanders in 1982, the Rangers in 1994, and the Bruins in 2011.
San Jose Sharks (1991-92)The Sharks played their first Stanley Cup final in 2016 but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Florida Panthers (1993-94)The Panthers have been to the Stanley Cup Final once, losing to the Avalanche in 1996.
Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes (1996-97)The Coyotes have made one appearance in the Western Conference Final, but have never played in a Stanley Cup Final. As the Winnipeg Jets (1979-1996) the team never made it further than the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Nashville Predators (1998-99)
For the first time in franchise history, the Predators won a Stanley Cup Playoff series in 2012. The team was eliminated in round two. They made it to the Stanley Cup Final in 2017, losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets (1999-2000)The franchise has never won a Stanley Cup Playoff series.
Minnesota Wild (2000-01)The Wild have made one appearance in the Conference Final, but have never played in a Stanley Cup Final.
Columbus Blue Jackets (2000-01)The Blue Jackets have never won a Stanley Cup Playoff round.
Vegas Golden Knights (2017-18)
The Golden Knights made it to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season, losing to the Washington Capitals, who won their first Cup that year.

Longest Stanley Cup Drought Among Previous Winners
Although they have won 13 Stanley Cups, the Toronto Maple Leafs—one of the NHL's original six teams—last won the coveted trophy in 1967. That's the longest dry spell among teams that have won the Stanley Cup at least once. It's also a longer drought than any of the 11 teams that never won the NHL championship.
