How are the Hawks going to use Weise, Fleischmann, and Ladd? That seems like a lot of offense on tap, but it still leaves some weakness on the blue line, in my opinion.

Stan Makita! He was Charles Bronson on skates, right? I sat in my brother's company box for a game several years ago, and Hull, Savard, and Makita were in the box next to us. It was cool enough being able to sit in a private box one time in my life, but those guys sitting and talking to us for most of the game made it unforgettable.

It was very cool. I heard some negative stories about Savard before then, but I found him to be the most humble guy around. He actually thanked us for being fans of "the Indian" as he called the team. The Hawks were pretty mediocre at the time. Hull was hilarious and told some pretty blue stories, but Makita talked hockey the whole time. And I was pretty quiet, because it was too much for me to take in at one time. My little brother ate it up, though.

I'd honestly say Bobby Hull was my hero growing up
Every piece of equipment I saved up for growing up had to have his name on it.

(those were pre-North Stars days)

He was a great player. I only saw him play on videos of old games. His wrist shot appeared to come off hit stick blade like it was shot out of a pistol. His kid was pretty good, too.

And the Hawks get the game-winner from a non-scorer. That happens, too. (there, anyway)

You mean there was equipment other than "Bobby Hull" branded equipment back in those days??

Ugh. My Hawks look tired after last night's game. Darling is a sieve and the defense has made some big mistakes with the puck. I think I will watch a rerun of Walker, Texas Ranger and finish the last of my Jack and Coke. Enough hockey for tonight.

Jaromir Jagr scores two goals to increase his season total to 23, his 127th multi-goal game, as Florida beats Ottawa 6-2. Jagr has now recorded 50 points for the 20th time in his NHL career.

The Blues run has been impressive. Jake Allen may of had a tough go at it vs. the Wild in the playoffs last season but he has bounced back nicely this season. Tarasenko is a Gaborik-in-his-prime type game breaker. Robby Fabbri has helped add that little bit more of scoring they need up front.

And they are big. They need that #1 seed.

Completely agree Stacey ,.... and pissed about it
As mush as I hate to admit it, any of my usual "these guys are the best" talk ...and the Blues deserve a place in that convo.
And I'm pissed, because, look at what has happened since last Springs playoff series.
We beat them.
We looked like the ascending team, they looked like they were crumbling.
Look now a year later ......

Wow! Talk about laying an egg. 5-0 loss to the kings, and dropped 4 of the last 5. The mood in Hawkville is a little morose this morning.
