If I was a high school hockey player, I'd rather play at any of the other MN Division I schools. Motzko has his work cut out for him.

I'm still not a fan of the Motzko hire. They needed someone who was going to excite potential recruits. We needed steak with lots of sizzle and Motzko is more like a lutefisk brunch.

I'm still not a fan of the Motzko hire. They needed someone who was going to excite potential recruits. We needed steak with lots of sizzle and Motzko is more like a lutefisk brunch.

Motzko had an incredible run at SCSU turning the Huskies into a national powerhouse. So far post season success has eluded him and his first season at Minnesota success of any kind has eluded him. In the meantime an assistant coach who consistently got spanked by the Huskies while he was at UMD has taken the team he inherited from Motzko and has them once again ranked #1 in the country.

I agree. That statement was spoken like a UND fan. But after all those years of being called Jan Brady U, I guess he feels like it was due or something.

A Gopher is a rodent and is usually considered a derogatory term even though it is scientifically accurate. As a Husky fan and them as an arch rival when I was attending SCSU I liked to use the term. Now it is mostly in jest. Sorry if it bothers you. Just a change of pace. I wish the Gophers every success.

Did Eve Plumb attend SCSU? I know the McGyver guy Richard Dean Anderson did and he was a hockey player.

First off I wouldn't do it....secondly I wouldn't do it on any Huskie thread.....it would look like I was trolling. Third...everyone is aware it is a non issue on your part as you keep doing it in the Gopher Hockey thread.

The younger sibling that couldn't quite measure up.......
I have to admit SCSU has been on a roll as of late and certainly have been better than the Gophers. The last hump to get over is to hang a banner....time will tell.

Gophers had a great chance this weekend to move up very close to the Tourney in the Pairwise. Couldn't hold a late 2-1 lead on Friday, but got a 2-1 win tonight at 16 ranked Notre Dame. Nice weekend.

I figured Arizona St. would be good being rated #12 and all, but the Gophers completely dominated them tonight 5-1. In the final period they turned into a bunch of hacks and kept the Gophers on the PP most of the period. Too bad we couldn't have played a few more games like tonight earlier in the season. Maybe the Gophers can get on a roll for the B10 tourney......

I think ASU is overrated, but still awesome game. Congrats.

Gophers get the sweep dominating ASU once again 5-2. Took the foot off the gas in the 2nd period after jumping out to a 3-0 lead and let them back in the game until we picked it up again in the 3rd. A nice game for the Gophers on senior night.
