the atmosphere of the Nebraska/Miami game was just awesome!

Now Miami may be down, but they still have some athletes, and I am finally glad to see Nebraska put up some fight and get a tough fought win

not a Pelini fan at all, but tonight was an enjoyable game to watch...

Especially Ameer Abdullah! that kid is great...Miami keyed on stopping him, cheap shotted him, etc and still he puts up 229...

versus Gordon running free against air, I'd take Ameer's game anyday...

So much heart!

I tell you both WI and Mich St sure weren't interested in scheduling any competition this week.

Talk about a couple cupcakes. WI with over 600 yards rushing. This stat padding should be illegal

I wish the selection committees would deduct points

Abdullah doesn't take a back seat to any running back in the nation.

You were at the right game. Biggest Nebraska crowd ever? The 1994 National Championship coming out in the tunnel walk. Some old school Miami-Nebraska physical football and a couple near brawls. Man I wish I was there.

Indiana representing the BIG 10 real well!!!
Just beat the 18th team in the nation from a pretty good conference.

That was a stunner. I thought Missouri was vastly overrated coming in, but in no way did I see them losing to Indiana. We nearly saw the same thing in the Pac 12 last night with Oregon.

IMO, they should completely have the scheduling taken away from them. With so much money at stake, I still find it very difficult to believe that human beings are going to decide the fate of the final four. As it is right now, the power conferences hold all the leverage. Most have seven, if not eight home games a year. Some of the SEC programs have not traveled more than 200 miles for a road, non-conference game in years.

IMO, programs should have to play every team in their conference. Sorry SEC and Big Ten, but if you want to hang the banner you should have to play every team. Can you imagine a season where the Red Sox don't play the Yankees? Unthinkable, right? The super conference thing is ridiculous. The NCAA should mandate they play every team in the conference, with a maximum of 12 teams. With only 12 games on the schedule (Hawaii permitting), you get one non-conference game if you decide to play in a 12-team conference. If you play in a 10-team conference, you get three non-conference games. On top of that, the big programs should have to travel to small, non-conference opponents. Every program should have a shot at earning revenue. The million dollar payoff for schools such as Louisiana-Monroe and The Citadel has to end. If LSU wants to play The Citadel, they should have to travel to The Citadel the next season.

In addition, (provided they still have scheduling control) if a program chooses to play a small school and loses, they should not be eligible to play in a bowl game. Sorry, but there should be some risk involved.

The game is not over yet

FSU is finding that everyone is bringing their A game for them

They don't seem to be nearly as good as last year

Not only the loss of Benjamin but the defense is poor

Clemson last week and NC State this week. I think the Noles are paper champs. Based on that weak ass conference, they'll make the playoffs but I don't see them repeating.

They have no shot of repeating if they play like this.

But I think there is a good chance that they pick their game up by December. Winston is too good to keep playing this poorly.

What a stupid idea by the Wash coach. Deadlocked at 13 with Stanford Wash has the ball at midfield 4th and 6. They try a poorly executed fake punt and are stopped cold. Stan marches down for the game winning score.

They just handed over the good field position they had won. They could have pinned them deep. Foolish.

Yeah, you're not in Boise anymore Peterson, now you play real teams every week.

What do you guys think about Abdullah from Nebraska?

well, obviously I'm a homer, but I haven't liked a Nebraska RB this much since Ahman Green

this kid is not only a spectacular runner, with vision, moves, explosiveness and toughness...he is pure heart!

Last week he got 229 yds rushing (313 from scrimmage) and over 150 rushing yards were AFTER contact...against some good athletes in miami...bad coaching but good athletes...but he showed so much heart getting those yards...more amazing than the 250+ Gordon got on wide open breakaway runs against Bowling Green

He is magic waiting to happen and so far has saved Nebraska's season almost single handedly (see his 4th down catch short of the first down that he turned into a TD to win over the McNeese Brothers)

The way he plays...he should be in the same conversation with Gurley and Gordon...if Nebraska were a contender, I believe people would be talking about the Heisman as a race between him and Mariota...

Next week is prime time ABC against Michigan State...should be great for Ameer, if not for Nebraska (who I expect to get schooled)

I keep thinking...maybe we can sneak back into the top of the 1st round next year to get the RB that will make us not feel so bad about cutting Peterson (which I think is ultimately what we'll do)

FEAR AMEER!!!

No matter, there are 3 top 10 pick quality RB's in this draft and if we get any of them, I will be OK letting Peterson go.

I can see Spielman making his yearly move back into the 1st to get his man...I hope it is Ameer, but Gurley or Gordon will do

I don't know if Brandon Scherff (OT - Iowa) has been mentioned before in this thread, but he's definitely worthy of a look. The dude is strong and physical.

http://www.hawkeyesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/brandon_scherff_585029.html

Over the summer he managed to hang 3 clean reps of 443 pounds! http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24634158/video-iowa-ot-brandon-scherff-hang-cleans-443-pounds

Here he is pancaking a blitzling DB: http://youtu.be/oZR1QIjOajA

Some project him as a possible top-10 pick in next year's draft. If he's available when the Vikings draft, and they decided they need more OL help, he could be a good pickup.

Yes sir. He's a total stud and will have a long successful NFL career.

An NFL scout recently told Coach Pelini that Ameer Abdullah was as good a running back as he's seen the last 5 years.

I think we'll see a bit of the return of RB in the 1st round of the draft this year.

Abdullah and Gordon look like legit NFL homerun threats.

I love Gurly, but I see him as an Eddie Lacy type. I think his lack of speed makes him a 2nd/3rd rounder.

Will be interesting to see where Foster goes, he's got LeSean McCoy type skills.
