System guy. Most Oregon QB's have not done well long term in the NFL.

Mariota is amazing but the running element of his game is just not sustainable longterm on Sundays.

 Uniformed Response

Since the spread offense was put in by Oregon,
Dennis Dixon and Kellen Clemens have carved out nice careers as back ups, which was expected of them.
Masoli went on to the CFL, again, expectation level.
Darren Thomas, who was expected to never be an NFL prospect, wasn't.

Which leads us to leftovers from Oregon's old Pro Style offense, Akili Smith and Joey Harrington.

 Old system, apples and oranges.

 Now back to Bill's comments,

 Clueless

 Clueless vs. incredible.

You lost all credibility when you said Dixon carved out a nice back up career.

What was longer, his Oregon career or his NFL back up career?

With all due respect Pete, it will take a lot more than you saying so for me to lose any credibility.

What I meant was that he had accrued enough service time to qualify for an NFL pension plus he made around 2.5 million bucks in 4-6 years, that is what I meant by a nice back up career.
I know Dennis Dixon, he's done alright for himself.

My bad. When you said that Dennis Dixon carved out a nice career as a NFL back-up, you were simply talking about money. That makes sense, cuz most people don't consider a three year job as a career. Hopefully he continues to earn in his other career. BTW, what is he doing now?

Last I heard from a mutual friend, he was expecting to resign with the Cardinals after being cut from the Practice squad in October.
