Urban Meyer's just ridiculous. The guy wins and wins big every place he goes. I know it won't happen, but personally (and I'm a huge OSU hater), whether FSU wins or loses tonight, OSU should be in the playoff over them. What a clinic today by Ohio State and I feel like I'm watching a HS game between GTU and FSU.

A first round matchup (with a month to prepare) between the nation's two best coaches (Saban and Meyer) would be a lot of fun.

Top candidate for dumbest post of the year

Undefeated, defensing national champ and they should not be in the top 4

No one could be this obtuse

Just because you have some crusade. Quit acting like a 5 year old attacking posters and actually debate.

This year's team is not last year's team. That's obvious to anyone that's watched FSU this year. Quite simply they have not been one of the best 4 teams in the nation this year. All records are not the same.

That's all that was available, since the race card couldn't be played here.

FSU has won every one of their games. Yet they've slipped inexorably from 1 to 4 over the weeks. Behind teams that have all lost a game. No reason why that descent couldn't continue to #5. I'm not saying that should or should not happen. I'm just saying there is no logical basis for disavowing that possibility, unless you've been actively disavowing every downward step FSU has taken in the rankings.

Similar logic with regards to OSU over TCU.

1 Alabama vs 4 Florida St
2 Oregon vs 3 Ohio St

This is the lock of all locks.
Playoffs and traditional bowl match ups.

Committee is already in bed.

And Art Briles is an asshole.

Bama vs OSU
Oregon vs FSU

I think the committee will want to ensure the Saban /Meyer matchup

A Pac12 v. Big10 Rose Bowl playoff matchup would do BIG numbers.

That it would.
Alabama/Oregon in the final would have the committee creaming in their pants.

Remember all that nonsense about the SEC having the best 5 teams in the country?

Only 2 in the final top 10

LMAO

It is a tough matchup, but I'd rather play Mizzou than Auburn which had been speculated. I hope we can give them a competitive game.

Middle of the pack for rush yards given up.  Cobb will be healthy.  Kill will have the boys ready for this one.

The Gophers have played 2 of the top 6 ranked teams so they shouldn't be afraid of Missouri. The problem could be Kill's bowl record. I think he's 0-4 in bowl games. 0-5 if you include in conference championship games. That's the next thing to improve.

Yes, because the polls are always right... Also, it's actually 3 of the top 9, 5 of the top 16.

Has nothing to do with last year. They put up all W's. What more you want? Not the most difficult schedule, but certainly not the easiest.

I would have no problem with OSU in the playoff, but not to remove Florida State. Snub the Big 12, that is a better argument.

Florida State gets Zero style points this year, who cares? They won ALL of the games they played.

You claim Ole Miss is a Top Ten team, yet they lost three and got shut out 0-30. Where are the style points when you get shut out by a mediocre team.

I'm a big SEC fan. Sentimental reasons, lived in the region and have friends with sons playing in the conference. Georgia, Auburn and Ole Miss were vastly overrated this year. Ole Miss was good when Wallace was good. Problem is, sometimes he sucked. Sucked bad.

A bad day for many teams, they lose. Florida State had many bad Saturday's, yet they found a way to win.

It's a long season and sometimes you have a bad game. The thing is, Florida State still won when they had their bad games.

I guess, looking good in a loss might mean more than an ugly win. That's a shame. Or an excuse.

Pete, I certainly get that argument, and like you say, tough to leave them out. I just don't think they've been one of the 4 best teams this year. I think you place a number of teams in the same schedule they had and they're also undefeated. But again, it is what it is, and they haven't lost; you gotta hand that to them.

Should be a really interesting playoff. 2 fantastic matchups to start, and pretty much any combo of those 4 in the finals will be a great game too. I'm really looking forward to Meyer vs. Saban with 4 weeks of prep, but Oregon/FSU is going to be a ton of fun too. Jameis vs. Mariota. Should bring out the best in both.

So, I have a B10 bias but I do, in all honesty, think they got it right.  OSU had a hugely embarrassing loss but it was thier 2nd game of the year against, what usually is, a very good program.  Beemer-ball has been down but they have athletes.  That doesn't even take in to account that it was a freshman's first ever start after a team captain went down with a season ending injury.  Their mindset must have been mashed potatoes.

The B12 had 2 legit complaints but there were 2 major factors, IMO.  No champ game and the fact that OU/OSU and WVA faltered down the later part of the year.  Hell, none of them are in the top 25 for the college playoff and my damn boys are.  That speaks volumes.

It's going to be a massive problem with 5 major power conferences.  Someone is always going to get screwed.  That being said, they got it right.

And, Karl is right.  No way possible Kill's boys are scared to take on Missouri.  Please.  We got our asses handed to us, early in the year, by TCU.  I won't deny that.  Outside of that, we've come out punching against everyone.  We have massive warts but he has instilled a tough mindset on this team.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we came out and punched them in the mouth.  Legally, of course

Mizzo may win but they'll be sore as hell the next day.  I can promise you that.
