I have not seen a ton of O football. What I have seen of Mariota is that he is absolutely electric.

However, the system at O does not ask him to stay in the pocket and go through all the reads. If the main read isn't there they want him to make a play with his feet. This works in college but has proven not to work on Sundays. He will have to learn to do this. The kid also has a questionable arm.

Clearly You have not, but don't let me tell you,
just Google. scouts take on Marcus Mariota, read the top 5 articles.

The Experts contradict everything you just said.

I will check out some of those articles. I'm going mostly off of what I heard from Hasselback on espn radio. Seems like he knows what he's talking about.

I have no clue what their depth is in the secondary Art, anything?

Helfrich said this AM that they were down 7 starters on offense in the PAC 12 championship game....

Losing Ifo hurts,
But he has been banged up and missed time all year.
In his absence, Redshirt Freshman Chris Seisay has played a lot, and at a high level.
Dior Mathis, a 5th year senior has played and will help as well.
Mathis has been so so in coverage mainly because of his lack of height.
The good news is that the FL State receivers, are 5'11 and 6'0, so we're not talking Mike Evans height.

Ifo, a unanimous All American at Corner has been picked on more this year than years past, mainly because of nagging injuries.

You also might see true Freshman Arrion Springs who was a. 4-5 star recruit.
Springs played early on so the redshirt is already off.

It hasn't been his best year, but he's the type of player you want on the field in the playoffs.
I think Mathis will see the field the most unless he is getting beat regularly.
Of if Springs practices lights out.

Read that they might put Nelson in the secondary too.

My bad. When you said that Dennis Dixon carved out a nice career as a NFL back-up, you were simply talking about money. That makes sense, cuz most people don't consider a three year job as a career. Hopefully he continues to earn in his other career. BTW, what is he doing now?

My bad. When you said that Dennis Dixon carved out a nice career as a NFL back-up, you were simply talking about money. That makes sense, cuz most people don't consider a three year job as a career. Hopefully he continues to earn in his other career. BTW, what is he doing now?

Last I heard from a mutual friend, he was expecting to resign with the Cardinals after being cut from the Practice squad in October.

Is Bob Stoops on the hot seat?

They've constantly been terrible in bowl games. Since winning the National championship in 2000 the Sooners are 7-7 since 2000 in bowl games but their wins were against Arkansas 01, Wash St 02, Oregon 05, Stanford 09, Uconn 10', Iowa 11', Bama 13'. Some good programs but Oregon weren't the program they are now, nor was Stanford and Bama really didn't care last season after the Auburn debacle. They've also been blown out by USC, WVU, A&M ad tonight vs Clemson. I am curios to know their record against the spread it's probably 3-11 in those bowl games.

His teams have also been very underwhelming in other big games in the Big 12.

I will be relatively surprised, and impressed, if TCU is able to beat Ole Miss. Though I believe that's the only one of the 10 SEC bowl games that the SEC team is not favored to win according to Vegas.

Of course, now I'm way more shocked that Notre Dame beat LSU. That was actually my highest confidence points (on LSU) in my bowl pick 'em of ALL the bowl games. Granted, LSU got completely screwed and you can argue actually won that game because that halftime TD review was horrific. But still, I should have known not to bet on Les Miles. He's a terrible HC IMO. Year after year his teams have as much talent as any team in the country and year after year they disappoint relative to their peers. And his game management is always highly comedic. Including today.

I think TCU is a tough match for Ole Miss because I don't know if Ole Miss has the juice to score many points even against a Big 12 defense, and TCU will score some.
