Bryce Harper putting the H in home run

The Nats OF hit his 11th home run since May 6 and is now slugging 1.000 for the month of May. If he keeps it up, he'll be the 4th player since 1900 to have a slugging percentage of 1.000 or better in May, joining Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds and Todd Helton.

Would this run be the same if the 11 home runs were singles? Thsts a clown question bro. Power makes a player more valuable.

what is happening with Strasburg? bad outing today in a string of several this season.

a star pitching prospect who is not a star.

looking back, i wonder if they wish they would not have shut him down that playoff run a few years back?

trying to do right by him and now it seems like they were saving him for nothing, nothing that will benefit them long term if it ends up he is just a guy with unrealized potential.

a WS title may have there for te taking back then, and the Nats didn't strike while the iron was hot.

Love him or hate him, what ARod is doing is ridiculous. I don't like him; sort of hate him even. But with or without steroids, just like Bonds, he is one of the very best the sport has ever, ever had. Literally a good argument for top 5 ever. Unbelievable career. He and Bonds (until Trout...and Buxton ) are the two best players I've seen in my lifetime.

Harper; crazy fun to watch. So happy for him that he's finally turning it on. I think Matt Williams is really good for him, especially given his Bonds' experience.

I think the Pirates are going to go on a big run at some point this year. Too much talent there to stay down for long.

Oh, one more thing; the Mike Trout slide the other day. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

As if we needed more proof he's the best in the world. Wow.

Lovin' what Joc Pederson is doing for the Doyers too. Great kid. Incredible family. If you guys want to know what I do, this was something really cool that basically we put together:

Great post
I've come to almost like two of the most-hated sports people of all time, Bonds and Arod.
Probably for simply surviving.
They brought so much shame and controversy unto themselves, and I'm usually down on anyone like that, but for some reason I cant help but admire that they survived it all.
Cant agree more on the talent level they possess.
I'm not as convinced about Arod, but his numbers and a couple of his accomplishments are simply incredible.
But, imo ... we will maybe never see someone as naturally gifted (ironic to say, I know ...) as Bonds when it comes to bat control and the raw ability to put bat on ball.
The stretch he had during his blow-away-the-numbers years, when everyone hated him, didn't want to pitch to him, wouldn't pitch to him, game-planned around him, stalked him, despised him , etc ...
Yes, he brought it all on. But I am glad I got to watch someone do that.
He was Gretzkian. On a different plane(in). He went for weeks and months when, if he saw one good pitch a game, he hit it 400 feet. If he saw two, he hit them both 400 feet.
Freakish ability. Interesting to watch.
Harpers recent streak brings back that kind of rush. You wonder what he will do next, because he CAN.
Trout that type as well. Can be virtually unstoppable at times.
Whether it was steroid-induced or not, that type of confrontation was exciting and fun to watch, and rarely seen any more.

Just pointing out I was laughed at when I said A-Rod would be a Top 5 third baseman this season.

Dear Pohlads.
Sometimes, bad shit happens, and you just deal with it.

The defending champs designated McGehee for assignment, a rather surprising move considering they signed McGehee this offseason to be their third baseman. It hasn't worked out as McGehee -- a 7-year vet -- was hitting .200.

New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey may have a "dead arm," manager Terry Collins said after Harvey had one of the worst starts of his career on Saturday.

The righthander was tagged for seven earned runs in four innings and threw two wild pitches in an 8-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was the shortest start of his career.

Mets assistant general manager John Ricco said Harvey’s arm issues won’t require any medical exams.

"I have not talked to Matt yet, but it looks like he might be going through some of that dead arm stuff that sometimes happens. This might help him to have an extra day to get him back on track," Collins said to the New York Daily News. “He's going to pitch Friday with five days' rest, be ready to go."

Harvey, 26, is in his first season since undergoing Tommy John surgery in Oct. 2013 after he tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
