Hilarious when the CHISOX fan Sat night mumbled that Flori should hit vs the CHI closer to lead off the 9th, since he had 2 hits already, vs Morney PH.

Pete tried so hard to convince me that the Twins could live with his crap-tastic bat if the rest of the lineup was
loaded, since his D is so great.

Those guys weren't the brightest bulbs.

They thought the Walks Will Haunt graphic was legitimately where our current scoreboard technology stood.

The old "one or two holes in the lineup is OK" argument that I know SMF loves.

Morney's value <<< than a Nava/Carp platoon? Yikes

The Twins aren't likely to trade Justin Morneau to the Red Sox, writes Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Morneau cleared waivers on Wednesday, and Sox first baseman Mike Napoli is currently nursing a sore foot. It's not yet clear that Napoli's injury is severe, however, and it's questionable whether Morneau would be an upgrade over options like Daniel Nava and Mike Carp.

Missed that set of comments. Wowza

A couple of them were more interested in getting to RF to the Bud party deck.

....we can live without offense at short
.... we can live without offense in CF
.... we can live without offense off the bench
..... we can live without offense in LF

yaddayaddayadda

need I go on?

THATS the problem
One hole, in 2013 .... MAYBE

I think a lot of people have very high expectations for what would happen if Paul Molitor were brought in.  I am not saying I would complain about it.  but some people are kind of obsessing that if Gardy goes, it MUST be Molitor that replaces him.  Might be some people are putting Molitor on a pedastal so high, they wont be able to reach him.

I kind of agree with you.  I'd take Molitor over Gardy, but more because I was done with Gardy 9 years ago.

My preference would be to bring in someone that has never had anything to do with the Twins or the Twins Way.

You've heard the "Twins Way" crap out of Molitors mouth?
I sure haven't.
He's been his own man his whole life.
Its probably why he's unwelcome most of the time around the team now.
Has never appeared comfy around this current crew.

I watched him be allowed to run the team once in ST ... and the attitude changed completely in a minute.
It did.
With my own eyes.
saw it.
From about 6 rows behind home plate.
he brings instant credibility.
Who cares if it fails?
What are we doing now?
Succeeding?

No.  But I really haven't heard him speak much.  He's rarely interviewed by FSN or allowed in the booth.

When we attended a game in Milwaukee several years back, we got a Molitor bobblehead.  Even though it's a Brewers item, I kept it on my shelf of mostly Twins stuff.  When we came back from our New Orleans trip, the Molitor bobblehead was on the floor with no head and no bat.  Cats were bored.  Couldn't find the head, the spring or the bat anywhere when I looked.  Just the body was left, but it wasn't shattered.  Every couple weeks we come across another piece that the cats drag up.  I think it's ready to be put back together now.  When I get it put back together maybe I should put it on eBay so SMF can buy it?    Unless Trekkie outbids him just out of spite.

Something tells me if Morneau went to a contender his hitting would suddenly improve greatly.

I was just trying to say that there are some here that seem to expect this team to suddenly be a World Series contender if Molitor were made manager.  I want my team to succeed, but you guys are setting the bar up so high if he were, by some miracle,  to be hired, that he can't possibly reach the lofty goals you are setting for him.

????
I'm asking for the slightest attitude change.
Where does that equal ... WS contender?
Simply remove the wart we have that doesn't grow, change, or get better. It just sits there. Its a wart.
No expectations at all.
CHANGE the dead atmosphere.
