The Atlanta Braves have traded veteran outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Miami Marlins in three-way deal that includes the Texas Rangers.

The Braves get minor league infielder Dylan Moore from the Rangers and minor league catcher Matt Foley from the Marlins, while also sending cash considerations to Miami, Atlanta said in a news release.

Any big league player traded after Aug. 1 has to be first put on waivers.

As part of the trade, the Braves will send the Marlins $104,959 to help offset Francoeur's contract. The Rangers obtained two international signing slots from Miami and one from Texas.

And Arcia DFA'd by the Marlins as a result of this trade.

This is how your team busts a slump

The Giants' Matt Moore has a no-hitter through seven innings against the Dodgers at Los Angeles. He has thrown 95 pitches and has six strikeouts with the walks.

One of your pitchers steps up and says enuf is enuf.
Maybe one day we can have that ... maybe .... one day ....

Go-go is one crazy mofo ... but he makes schtuff happen everywhere he goes.

Cleveland's lead in the AL Central is down to 4.5 games after another starter struggled. This time it was Josh Tomlin, as Carlos Gomez tagged him for a three-run homer in his Rangers debut in a 9-0 shutout. The vaunted Indians rotation ranks 26th in the majors in August with a 6.13 ERA.

Fun game. I'm pulling for him.

This hasn't been a big no-hitter year, has it?

You know damn well if Mauer was a Dodger, he would slap a meaningless ninth inning single to left field with two outs, down 4+.

Speaking of the lack of no-nos ... the Giants could be setting an unreal record tonight ... 5 straight years with a no-no. Pretty amazing.

Cain ... Lincecum ... Lincecum ... Heston .... Moore?

And now that we've committed the ultimate no-no, errr, umm, no-no .... I'm sure it won't happen.

Yeah, you jinxed it. Not gonna' happen anyway. Moore is edging up to 120. Could be a team effort no no though.

Here we go. Moore on the mound for the ninth, with 119 pitches. Is that allowed?

Pretty sure the arm flies off after pitch 120
That's what we've been told, anyway ...

I hate that. No matter the team, watching a no-hitter gives me the willies. Sucks watching a bloop take it away.

Corey Seager delivers a bloop single to right ending Matt Moore's no-hit bid. It was Moore's 133rd pitch. It is also Corey Seager Bobblehead Night at the ballpark.

Rangers reliever Jeremy Jeffress was arrested in Dallas overnight for DWI, reports Rebecca Lopez of WFAA 8 News in Dallas. Per Lopez, Dallas County Jail records show that Jeffress was booked at 5:13am. It’s unclear if he’ll face any sort of disciplinary action from the team or the league (though there’s little in the way precedent for league-mandated punishment following a DWI or DUI charge). The Rangers issued the following statement to WFAA: “The Texas Rangers are aware of the situation involving Jeremy Jeffress that took place early this morning. At this time, we are in the process of the gathering information and have no further comment.”

Details surrounding this incident remain unclear, though Jeffress has been disciplined for substance abuse in the past. Jeffress was suspended on multiple occasions in his minor league career for marijuana usage, though the last such suspension came all the way back in 2009. In a recent interview with MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan, Jeffress attributed that usage to treatment for epilepsy, which has plagued him since his teen years.

Sanchez continues to crush everybody. 20 games, 10 HR's. Home, away, vs. righties or lefties, doesn't seem to matter.

Tex may be right ... he'd get walked in Babe himself was on deck.
What a story
How lucky were we, to pry JR Murphy from their cold dead hands?

I just want to reiterate, the one game wildcard playoff is an absolute sham. The top wildcard has earned a series with the 1st division winner.

Can you believe this? The Yankees are now poised to be the team of the future. They have a pretty strong crop of prospects they probably won't screw up

I agree Bruce. The teams play a 162-game schedule to allow a one-game playoff to decide who advances to play a divisional champion. What a stupid format!

I love it.

If you don't want to play the one game playoff...win the division.
