Elflein and Hill are probably the line MVP's

Elflein makes them better in the middle, and Hill bails them out when others get hurt.

Remmers on the last sack was one of those WTF are you doing?

Elflein, yes. Hill, no way. He may fill in, but he is God awful, unless he going against someone equally as bad. After Elf, I say O'Neil has easily been the best player on the line.

That Remmers play just blew me away. It was like he just turned sideways and patted his man on the back as he ran by, as if to say "go get him big guy". He seriously needs to be gone next year.

Could easily replace the 3 spots with better guys. Reiff isn't much better than Remmers/Compton.

They should seriously look into flipping O'Neil and Reiff next year. Reiff just gets embarrassed by athletic rushers, where O'Neil is very athletic in his own right. I noticed him kicking Clay Matthews ass a few times last night.

Vikes, Wolves, Wild twice, Gopher hockey twice. This was the suckiest Minnesota sports weekend that has ever sucked in the history of suck.

Gophers hoops had a big win over Texas A&M last night.

So What did Sweens think of the next weekend with Wild, Wolves Gophers football reclaiming the Axe, Vikings beating Packers...not a whole lot of suck there.

Sweens is so happy, he is referring to himself in the third person again today.

One of the most un-Minnesotan weekends, ever.

I will say one thing ...
BEST-executed two minute drive in maybe 25 years around here at the end of the half.
You could feel the uneasiness in everyone who wanted us to panic.
Didn't say it was perfect, if it was, we would have been attempting to get the TD, instead of the FG, but still, to use up all the time and keep Erin off the field was a work of art by Cousins.
Denny and every guy since would have F-ed that up like we usually do.
Maybe, just maybe, someone in the decision-making biz here is starting to improve. Baby steps.

Imagine that Zimm puts a huge amount of pressure on kickers. How else can you explain it?

I didn't even stay to the final. I've been steadfast but it's over. This team goes nowhere with Zimmer and crew at the helm. He would be a great DC again but he's too old (mentally) to be a HC. The gameplan, if there was one, was once again way too conservative. I just laughed and turned it off when we were down by 14, about 6 to go, 3rd and 16 and we threw for a 6 yard gain. This was after the first plays where we expected Cook and AT to break 10 tackles to get close the first down on the their own.

He clearly doesn't get it and won't. The league is 2018 and he operates in 1990. Sad as I really like the guy and think he brings a lot to the table but he another NTG.

McCarthy wasn't able to realize it was 2018 either and he got fired.

Agree, Zim needs to go. Too passive.

Cook was hammering them on the edges. They didn't stay with it.

Partly on the OC

Big partly on the HC

Oh and they tied it at 10...and the vaunted defense put up no resistance in allowing the better team to score.

Patriots were a hot knife through butter on that drive. Sherels does not belong on the field as a DB. When Waynes got hurt that really weakened the team.

The Seattle game is huge! Win that and today isn't that important. Lose it and we're hanging on a thread.

The greatest mismatch in history yesterday in NE
Not on the field, talking about the coaching staffs.
I'm so tired of watching creativity, everywhere but here.
I defended Bradford for the 2 yard passing approach, I defended cousins when he inherited it.
Now I'm just pissed off at all of them. Currently, I feel that Defilipo is a moron. GB wants him? AWESOME. See ya.

No doubt he's a massive part of the problem but I think it's deeper than that. The D shits the bed when we need them to lift us, ST's have been a disaster since day 1....it just never ends. Rotten fish at this point.

If I didn't have a massive coronary, while watching us throw a 4 yard crossing pattern on 3rd and 24, and then a 5 yard crossing pattern on 4th and 20 (to TREADWELL) .... I never will
So I have that going for me, which is, ya know, ..... nice.

Mismatch in coaching staffs seems to be a recurring theme with all MN professional sports teams.

Probably most glaring with the Vikings because we do have some talented players and should be the whole package as a team.

Yep and once again, Zim thinks the problem is that we didn't run enough.

Who the hell calls a two yard slant on 4th and forever?

That was call because the pass was quick and Cousins never looked anywhere else. That was pathetic. Treadwell would have needed to gain about 10 yards after the catch running east west through linebacker alley.

Philipo sucks and/or Zimmer has him scared shitless like every kicker that walks through door.

I think that is a really big part of the problem.

Zimmer needs to go. If this OC came from Philly and has a number of the same type plays they don't even run, it's not being allowed.

Because it has to be

Run first down

Short pass second down

Shorter pass third down, or come up with some miracle to keep going

that's in no way what any sane Offensive Coordinator would call.

Cousins supposedly has a big arm

How many downfield shots do they take at this point?
Zimmer would rather clam up and have cook and murray run the ball 40 times/game and have his D tough it out.

Stuff like that doesn't work in the NFL much any more.
