If Teddy looks like he is the QB he was before the injury (initial indications look good), considering he is still only 25, he'll bring a 2nd. Especially if another team gets an injured starter. Otherwise the Jets might as well not trade him.

Unless a situation arises like us with Teddy in 2016, Teddy will be traded as insurance. Nobody is spending a 2nd round pick on a backup.

Disagree, if Miami or Cincy get bad QB play early, and Teddy keeps progressing like he did last night, they’d bring Teddy in as a starter, and those might not be the only two.

I thought his career was over but he has been the Jets best QB. He should be starting somewhere.

I expect the Jets would not trade him unless they got some value for him, if he is the same player he was before the injury, he would be an upgrade as a starter for a bunch of teams, and still only 25 years old, a potential franchise QB for the next decade.

Nah. Neither one of those teams would make that move.

Miami has too much money invested in Tannehill and with him coming back from injury, they need to see if he can be a franchise cornerstone. He will get most of the year, unless injured..

Cincinnati will not move on from Dalton before they fire Marvin Lewis. And the Brown family has already shown us who they are when it comes to that.

I dont disagree, but it's a tough sell (as in a high pick) at this very moment, unless a team actually NEEDS him, which means it needs him to play right now.

I think the Jets should just start Teddy this season.

Let Darnold acclimate a year. If Teddy does well it will raise his stock for a trade. Or did they only sign him for one year?

Again I disagree,

Marvin Lewis has lost quite a bit of power there.

Miami currently has their finger on the eject Tannehill button.

Teddy’s a Miami kid, and would come cheaply. I’m not sure how much Tannehill still has against the cap, but he was on a very short leash before he got hurt.

We will have to agree to disagree. I see no non-injury scenario where Teddy goes to either of those teams.

I pretty much agree with that. My original post just meant the Jets taking advantage of a certain situation, although I may not had said that explicitly

They definitely arent trading for Teddy.

They have McCarron, Peterman, and Allen and the way I hear it they all suck. Of course they won't give up on Allen yet, but why wouldn't they want Teddy until Allen shows signs of life?
Why wouldn't the Jets want Teddy and Darnold as opposed to McCown and Darnold?

McCown is a known commodity for the Jets. The devil you know. The Bills have too much locked into the QB position. They're not trading for a starter. They'll just play Allen and let him grow up. That team isnt good enough to give up picks.

OK if you say so. Teddy would easily be the best QB for both of those teams. McCown is worn down. Why not lock in two good young QBs instead of having Darnold and NOBODY.

We don't need Teddy, we got Sloter, he's taller, and so is Siemian, and that name almost sounds like former Vikings' great Jeff Siemon.

Besides, Teddy would likely now cost too much for the Vikes as a backup.

If the Jets start Darnold, like they might, McCown is more valuable than Teddy as that mentor, backup quarterback. He's been there in their system for two years. He's a better candidate to help Darnold progress.

Teddy was a dice roll for them, that actually looks like its a seven. But, they signed him before they drafted their QBOTF. Thats NOT Teddy.

The Jets arent going to cast aside the #3 pick in the draft for him under any circumstances. So, unless they plan to keep three, they'll trade Teddy - and they hope to a team that NEEDS a starter. Otherwise, they will have to release him and not get anything in return. And he'll then go to the highest bidder.

For those who wanted Ian Thomas before we traded out of the third round.

The Charlotte Observer's Joseph Person considers fourth-round TE Ian Thomas the "biggest surprise" of Panthers camp.

Per Person, Thomas has been "consistently finding open lanes in the secondary and pulling down intermediate-length passes." With Chris Manhertz working his way back from a Jones fracture, Thomas could steal some targets behind 33-year-old starter Greg Olsen.

If the Jets were smart they would start Teddy this year, but they are the Jets. I see no problem with Darnold carrying a clipboard for a year.
I think it's funny the hype Darnold is getting for his preseason game. In 18 attempts he gained 96 yards. Barely over 5 YPA.

I definitely liked Thomas going in and thought he was going to be our 4th round pick. Rick did say they liked two guys, I speculate that Thomas was one and Holmes was the other.

Be interesting to see how they both progress and if Conklin makes the team. Seems like Holmes is flashing a bit and we all know what our dline coach can do. Although right now, I'd rather have a TE that can make an impact this year as a pass catcher. We seem pretty stacked at dline and might have to cut a guy like holmes or obignawanditutu.

Tough trade market for Qbs right now. Can't think of a team that would trade for him, maybe KC if Mahomes continues to bomb. Otherwise everyone else is still in their honeymoon phase with QBs (either FAs or draft picks) Isn't the word out of Buffalo they think Mccarron is playing so well they think they can get something for him?

The market for qbs can change rather quickly. It will be interesting to see how it plays.

I read a piece of Jalen Ramsey's interview, where he starts dogging different quarterbacks. Here is the full interview. He gives an opinion on Cousins, among others.

McCarron has looked better than Dalton....I think the Vikes would have went after him if Cousins wasn't available.
