It might sound odd, but people probably aren’t talking enough about the potential shift in approach among the special teams units. During his career, new special teams coordinator Marwan Maalouf has worked with several top-tier minds, including John Harbaugh and Darren Rizzi. During his most recent stop, the Dolphins had one of the top punt-block percentages in the NFL. Their twist schemes were very difficult to handle and caused chaos. While Maalouf was an assistant in Miami, the Dolphins finished top-five in punt-block percentage every year, including a first-place finish in 2014 (4.92%). Collectively, during his one season as special teams coordinator with the Colts, his units ranked 12th in special teams efficiency, according to Football Outsiders.

I missed that the Vikings waived Micah Abernathy, an UFA safety. Here's a little about the running back we picked up to replace Roc Thomas.

Here's a couple tweets about Scandrick:

I don't know about Scandrick he lost his job to Ward last year. I live in KC and watched him get burned what felt like over and over again. (Matty3840)

He allowed the 15th fewest yards per Cover snap out of 97 CBs with 250+ Cover Snaps. That’s actually pretty solid. Stat wise his season was good. (Jonas Stark)

This might have been a factor vs the Eagles in the playoffs:

I get drug tested every year and that doesn't include my randoms. My workplace has zero tolerance. Once and you are done. Hill has flunked at least two tests, but I think it might be more than that.

Whatever. I'm just disappointed. It's so stupid.

He also failed the drug test at the combine which took him off every teams draft board.
This guy is catching up to Josh Gordon fast on failed tests

Undrafted rookie TE Brandon Dillon from tiny Marian will practice before more than 5,000 fans Friday at #Vikings camp. That's more than saw him play any game last year. He said his high school crowds were about 150. "(There were) some farmers out there''

This writer suggests that the Vikings say goodbye to Hill. I'm kind of on board with that, but not strongly. I will support whatever the Vikings decide, but my bet is that they part ways.

https://thevikingage.com/2019/07/24/zero-reason-minnesota-vikings-keep-hill/

waynes and alexander are free agents in 2020 - we could end up with just rhodes and hughes in february....

do these last four games have to do with the roc thomas bust early this year?...it seems both thomas and hill were hit with their suspensions within a few days from each other....

hill has talent and i hate to see us lose out on that, also i hate to see a young player ruin his career because of marijuana - when i was holton hill's age everyone i knew smoked dope every single day....

I'm not ready to give up on him yet. 75 PFF rating in pass coverage his rookie year? Pretty impressive.

He might not figure it out. I hope he does. Didn't we have a WR we signed off waivers because of similar issues (and all he did was catch TDs)?

Not saying that's his trajectory. But I'm much more forgiving of this type of transgression. Many don't get their s*** together but many do. He's got a pretty good locker room to help him get things straightened out.

How many teams got to use a #1 draft pick as their kick returner season after season?

That's very good considering how many WRs were drafted this year. I think it was at least 30. However I think he can be the best Rookie WR.

What evidence is there that he fears homosexuals? That is about the most overused word in the English language.

Excuses, excuses. He had a top 10 Special teams five years in a row. That is very successful.

There is something very deceptive about those statistics.

Patterson and Sherels skewed them up with returns, coverage was decent.

But the kicking game, and kicking in the clutch, there was a problem there.

it's too bad the nfl is so hard-nosed about something like marijuana - i'd give hill a few more chances if that's all it is...if he could just lay off dope for the next eight years he'd be rich as hell for the rest of his life - then he could smoke himself into oblivion....

Blocked punts against us especially in crucial moments was as much a problem as our atrocious kicking game that spanned three kickers.
