I'm pretty happy with that list!

Blasingame, Collins, the two WRs and the two LBers.

Only mildly surprised by Keely over Schult and Meadors at cb

Quarterback Kyle Sloter had a choice of where he went next. He chose the Cardinals, Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports.Six teams, including the Lions, showed interest in signing Sloter, per Tomasson.

The Vikings are trying to sign former Browns punter Britton Colquitt a day after he was released in Cleveland. A deal could be done by the end of the day

If he's good why did the Browns release him? Is he a good holder? Wile kicks them high and far.

Makes sense an past Bronco!!!

Britton Colquitt

American Football Player

Britton Douglas Colquitt was an American football punter who is currently a free agent. He was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in December 2009; he was with the Broncos when they won Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers in 2016. He played college football at Tennessee.

Vikings signed P Britton Colquitt.
Colquitt was reportedly en route to Buffalo before being lured to Minnesota. The 34-year-old punter has ties to new Vikings assistant head coach Gary Kubiak stemming from their 2015 Super Bowl together with the Broncos. He'll take over for recently released K/P Kaare Vedvik.

What doesn't make sense is they say he'll take over for Kaare Vedvik. I think he will take over for Wile.

Wile was a quality punter. Cant say I understand this or the vedvic trade.

Maybe Spielman has decided to keep an extra kicker so Zimmer has one to mess with while the other 2 actually do the kicking and he doesn't get to mess with them.

I was thinking the same thing, but wouldn't it make more sense to have Bailey and Colquitt, w/ Vedvic's potential being stashed incase?

Yeah. Our linebacker and receiver corps on the 53 are a bit skinny, but they are kept on the team through the practice squad. Nice.

I remember Colquitt. He comes from a family of punters, including his father and brother. I don't know if he does kickoffs or long field goals. A quick check shows that he does not kick field goals.

Pretty disappointed in some roster moves...

Usually I don't get bent out of shape as the guys we typically are wringing our hands over are fringe guys who don't make a whole lot of impact.
That being said...

1) Sloter
Let's say there really is some valid reason Sloter has to go... like maybe some substance abuse issue.
God I hope so because this kid just balled out when he had an opportunity.
Why the @#$# didn't you talk him up and eventually get some trade value for him?
This is such a QB starved league it's hard to believe his f'ing preseason stats are AT LEAST AS VALUABLE AS THE F'ING 5TH ROUNDER YOU GAVE FOR A K/P!!!!

2) Blasigame
I think they do have a deep talented pool of TEs. I like all of them.
BUT... I highly doubt the 4th TE (AS MUCH AS I LIKE HIM), will have as big of an impact as Blasingame could have had at FB.
Now, if you are hitched to Ham maybe Blasingame never sees the field.
But that's very shortsighted IMO... Ham is just a dude... Blasingame has the physical potential to give you some mismatches.

3) Vedvik
They probably made the right choice here... just a big disappointment... whatever the Vikings do to kickers coaching wise is tragic...
Even though they spent a 5th on him, and I was pretty pumped at the time, he just doesn't have it... punts didn't have the hang time... FGs totally erratic... god, it sucks

4) WR
PLEASE BRING IN A REALISTIC 3WR!!!!

ugghhh... i'm sick of being so negative...

Maybe Zim totally proves me wrong and I happily eat crow all year!

Whomever pitched Vedvik as worth a 5th should be fired.

Apparently Wile was punting too well too. I dont understand getting rid of him. Maybe he was out kicking coverage??

I don't get it either. Checking last year's stats, Wile seems better.

This is how I'm feeling. I would have taken the Nightingame over Ham, Dillon, or Abdullah. I originally though J Johnson too, but a DT is worth more that a FB.

I think we saw the writing on the wall last year. We need to keep the pocket somewhat clean and Cousins is very good.

So keep 10 Oline, 4 TE and the best blocking FB.

And hope that Thielen and Diggs stay healthy.

They have to. If either one misses any time we're screwed. Same with Cousins really too. Nobody wants to see statue Man take any snaps.

If they don't think Colquist is an upgrade, it's just another bad move for special teams. To me special teams has been a problem since Zimmer took over, but he no longer has a Sherels or Patterson to occasionally cover his ass.
