The Vikings are going to practice in US Bank Stadium on Friday and will play 1 quarter as the home team and 1 quarter as the visiting team so players can get a feel for the crowd noise in both environments.

(Courtney Cronin on Twitter)

So the team can get a feel for playing when it is dead calm?

Scary, I almost typoed 'calm' above as 'cam'!

When one player gets elevated it means another player's stock has declined. It's not a matter of a rising tide lifting all of the boats.

https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/vikings-training-camp-notes-day-9-bisi-johnson

The other players stock declines RELATIVE to the rising player, but not necessarily in an absolute sense. Just because Amazon is tearing it up, doesn't mean Microsoft isn't still a nice to have.

Maybe you're right. I was thinking that we get these reports about how someone looked good in his one on one battle, but if he did well it could mean the competitor failed. So from my perspective, it's really tough to know for sure when a player is doing well.

True dat!

I saw where Hershel Walker endorsed Trump yesterday. That should solidly put Minnesota in the Biden back pocket. Perhaps the worst trade in NFL history.

But during his first game with the Vikes everyone in MN thought it was the best trade ever

I did! Something like 160+ yards. One TD run with one shoe off! Then reality hit.

I was in Korea, pre-internet days and my buddy called with the trade. He sequenced out what we gave up. At first, ok a #1 pick. Then players. Then another #1. Ugh. Then more players. Then another #1 and who knows what else. Holy S***!

The very definition of Super Bowl or bust.

Walker was not at fault. Vikings traded everything for him and Burnsie wouldn't even change his system to fit Walker's running style.

Never said Walker was at fault. More about the ultimate SB or bust type trade.

It’s also the trade that made Jimmy Johnson a great coach.

Hershel Walker, IMO, was one of the most overrated football players of all time. Dude had two, 1,000-yard seasons in 12 years. In comparison, Chris Carson (Seattle) has two 1,000-yard seasons in three seasons, when teams are throwing the ball 45 times a game.

Overrated like a guy who played with us who ran for over 14,000 yards-avg 4.7 - with 111 TD’s that you thought was overrated as well?

Honestly I’d buy the Walker argument.

Coulda been one hell of a MMA fighter though.

And the Dodgers are right there setting the example of what white uniforms are. Bright white.

The best uniforms in all of baseball

Baldy's Breakdown of what Gary Kubiak is doing with our offense with the blocking scheme, etc. Good stuff even though it is film of the Ravens when Kubiak was the coordinator.

I believe the teams will play artificial crowd noise at between 80-90 decibels throughout the league.

During Monday’s 1-on-1 sessions, the lineman who stood out the most was second-year right tackle Oli Udoh. Working against players like Eddie Yarbrough, Kenny Willekes, and Stacy Keely, Udoh arguably won every single one of his reps. He demonstrated great footwork, hand placement, and strength in keeping his opponent from getting to the little orange cone that represents the quarterback.

It’s been a strong camp for Udoh overall, and this was one of his best days. He’s firmly entrenched as the backup right tackle behind Brian O’Neill at the moment, but if Udoh continues to play at such a high level, the Vikings may want to figure out a way to get him onto the field going forward.
Not much of a surprise that Udoh can handle the likes of Yarbrough, Willekes and Keely without problem when he handled Khalil Mack without much problem week 17 last season. What is surprising is that the Vikings haven’t found a way to place him among their top five starters.

There has been some reports that Garrett Bradbury looks somewhat improved and/or is having a decent camp, but for the most part praise has been relatively mild.

We can harp on what Udoh's winning at the expense of Yarbrough, Willekes, and Keely means, or just say the real winner was the little orange cone.

Interesting. Then the league must have OK'd piping in noise just previous to and during the play, which was not allowed previous to this season.

I read that they also kicked Reiff to LG for a few reps - and it didn't look good (small sample size).

The bigger issue isn't the author (Bruce posted links - this was from SI or Wulford) it's the overall information we're getting on the oline. Stephen and JJ have been winning reps against our guards. Stephen has like a career .000001% pressure rate. How are our guards going to hold up against Hicks and the rest of the DTs we have to face?

Ezra has been demoted to 3rd string LG - too many technique issues. We should be keeping him at LT and putting Udoh at RG. Udoh has at least practiced and played in the Senior Bowl there.

Bradbury hasn't stood out and it looks like the talk on Collins & Samia was just hype.

At this point - I would go Reiff, BEST of All the rest, Bradbury, Udoh, Oneill.

We're running out of time before the opener to get this figured out.

My initial reaction was that he was a suspect in his father's disappearance, but of course he wasn't there.
