imo this will be starting o-line in 2020....

hill - lt
Dozier
Bradbury
Elflien
o'neill - rt

I get the feeling they want:
o'neil - lt
Dozier
Bradbury
Elflien
udoh - rt

I think you're right. But, Elf is still in there, who is arguably our worst starting olineman. I hope we can see some improvement inside soon but it isn't going to come from him. Curious to see Udoh at rt, though.

Udoh played RT against the bears the last game of the season.
For what it's worth, I was at the game and I thought he played well... Samia at RG was hit or miss... Udoh went up against Mack and held his own.

I hope Udoh is able to step in at RT as Hill has always struggled there... seems Hill does better at LT... although I don't think is starting caliber.

There's a development with the Vikings now, but I'm still upset, so somebody else report it.

That's what struck me about Udo in week 17. After watching Mack annihilate Reiff in the past, Udo did a pretty solid job against him.

That the Yannick Ngakoue trade is official?

this trade has become too messy...last-minute position shifting, more money now and new deal next season, a lot of draft capital....

should have paid griffen....

I get your feeling but...

Griff is 32 I think... and faded down the stretch in my eyes... (although I thought he was a beast against NO in the playoffs)
Yannick is 24 I think.

Not sure what to think on Reiff... I thought he was steady average.
However, I can see the gamble... if O'Neil and Udoh did rise to the occasion... this move has the chance to make you a contend.

Yannick's huge upside for me is his ability to cause turnovers... some players just have a knack.
Turning a sack into a sack/turnover can change games.

And he is durable... only missed 1 game I think.

with pressures and fumbles, he's off the charts, for sure...of course i hope it all works out well - just very last minute, and the o-line was/is so uncertain....

Those bottom two rows...

Yannick played RDE according to my research and the blind side DE has a much better opportunity to get the strip sack than the LDE where Hunter primarily has played.

Is it about Reiff potentially being cut? Because we've been discussing that.

I don't see anything else and I'm done playing 20 questions with you since you don;t want to say what it is.

I though Ngakoue was a LDE.

Tomasson was wrong about that.

Ngakoue plays both sides, but plays quite a bit more on the right.

Last year: 490 snaps at RDE, 282 at LDE.

Ben Goessling@GoesslingStrib
Danielle Hunter isn’t practicing again, but he warmed up with players during the open portion of practice for the first time in weeks. Riley Reiff isn’t here (possibly in his final days with the team), and Kenny Willekes isn’t practicing.

Dane Mizutani@DaneMizutani
No Riley Reiff at Vikings practice today amid reports that he’s been asked to take a pay cut.
Sean Borman@SeanBormanNFL

If Reiff is cut, here’s the 2020 cap hits for the #Vikings presumed front 5:

LT Brian O’Neill - $1.2M
LG Dakota Dozier - $840K
C Garrett Bradbury - $2.9M
RG Pat Elflein - $2.4M
RT Oli Udoh - $717K

Have to wonder if some of that extra cap space would be used to upgrade at guard.

Nonsense. Spend money on the oline??? blasphemy

Sign a G for $8 million and he'd make more than the entire OL.

Since from Day one they've been very vocal about not moving Hunter from LDE, I'd assume Ngakoue is our starting RDE.

And Odenigbo likely will back-up both guys and play some DT on obvious passing downs.

I missed them saying they wouldn't move Hunter from LDE. He wreaked havoc from RDE when he played there for Griffin, so I thought it would a natural move. Either way, it's cool.

What has me worried both Yannick and Ifead are light in the seat of the pants against the run.

I can see why we'd want to leave hunter at LDE being he is much better than these 2 stopping the run.

Defense might have trouble getting off the field against the likes of SF and GB.

Whatever happened to Art?

Didn’t he drop from the board as a protest against the signings of Reiff / Remmers?

At the very least he was outraged.

KJ got it. Reiff told his teammates that he will be cut. Here is a tweet from Matthew Coller:

Hearing from a source that if/when Riley Reiff gets cut (which appears imminent at this point) that Rashod Hill is more likely to take over right tackle than Oli Udoh
That makes sense. Hill has been consistently solid in the swing tackle role

I say Hill is a better LT than RT and O'Neill has established himself very nicely at RT. Why not keep him there? Otherwise, Udoh is strictly a RT, so if Udoh comes in for an injury to Hill, then O'Neill must practice now at LT just in case.

I was under the impression that he just thought the content/attitudes had become tiresome, and decided he had better stuff to do.

I remember 250 lb DE Lance Johnstone. He was actually pretty decent against the run, but he was only a part time player. Once your legs start to fade, you feel those big guys leaning on you a bit more.
