Why is Chris Jones seeing the field? Piss poor in coverage. No effort tackling. Why not bring Holton Hill back and cut this clown?

Kubiak has been a major disappointment. Have we taken a shot on second and short this season? Slow developing plays on 3rd/4th and short. Our second 4th down play had ZERO chance.
Down by two scores in the 3/4th, 6,7 minute drives all the time. Our sweeps have to be WAY down this year compared to last year.

Our defense simply is not good without Kendricks.

Dantzler is a baller. I noticed Watts a few times, which is good. Couldn't tell if he was playing NT but seems like an upgrade over J Johnson.

That effort by Bisi was abysmal.

I see DT as a major position needing an upgrade. Our DT’s have been getting pushed all over the field all season. The DT’s are getting consistently blown off the ball and I saw it again today. They provide no pocket pressure during the passing game. Sure we have other holes, but this has been a big one all year. The DT’s set the tone for the entire defense and these guys have been treated like candy asses from opposing offenses.

We'll start with Michael Pierce. Assuming he hasn't spent this year eating himself out of the league.

The Pierce opt out had such a ripple effect for this defense. You'd hope someone would step up but that hasn't happened.

There seems to be some talented DT in the draft. Well it was somewhat of a fun season at times with some breakouts from our youngsters. I think we need to put things in perspective. The D lost most of the front 7 and replaced all 3 corners. This was always going to be a battle.

On the flip side, the entire OLine remained largely intact, so we can expect a regression on that side.

Lets get 6-10 and see where we land on the draft board.

Here we go. We are now in Trey Lance range
I think if you have the chance to get a difference maker at QB and not have to worry for the next 15 years you have to do it

Letting Lance adjust to the speed of the NFL and practice against some of the best in the game while letting the team invest in the offensive line before he plays a significant amount of time would be best for his development.

LOL! Uh, we take Lance is the first and don't have a second. Some OL investment!

Fortunately we still had our $23 million pair of safeties.

Chris Jones was awful. He was either getting juked out of his jock strap or getting brushed aside by wr's like he wasn't even there. He should be emberrassed.

Spielman should be canned for making such stupid "win now" moves when anybody with a half a brain knew this team wasn't going to be able to compete with the big boys this year.

We are really weak in the trenches on both sides of the ball

After his second elite performance (90+ grade), Cameron Dantzler is now the highest graded rookie CB in the NFL. He has a 73.7 grade on the season.

Jeff Gladney ranks 7th out of 17 rookie CBs with 250+ snaps.

Dakota Dozier leads the NFL in pressures given up since week 12 with 21. Averaging over 5 pressures given up a game. It’s just poor coaching that’s allowing him to continue to start.

Spielman's M.O. is probably par for the course in the life of a GM.

Start out by cleaning house.
Use assets and high draft picks to build a potentially good roster.
Watch as team fails to achieve goals.
Take some risks to win now to justify an extension.
Watch roster begin to crumble.
Mortgage the future to win now and keep job.
With no cap and fewer high picks, watch as team slides further <---- We are here.

Team implodes or enters an era of mediocrity.
Owner give GM the proverbial "vote of confidence".
GM fired the following week.
New GM fires coaches in first step of housecleaning.

This upcoming year will be a no television year for me, which means no football on tv. I'm making that sacrifice because it feels like the news is making me frustrated and angry and I don't want to be that way.

I hear ya, Bruce. I've been off the news for a while now - and it's one thing I'm sure I'll never go back to. Six companies control the majority of our news - I'm not interested one little bit in them shaping how I think or feel; I have enough problems doing that myself without their help.

Ive been working on staying off social media for awhile, too. I went from last Christmas to June without looking at FB or Twitter except for a couple examples where I went into send messages.

- I can quit anything but when a friend says, "Go in to FB and look at my retirement pictures" I did get off track a little.

- I did miss all the Twitter messaging I had going on with my son in Korea. Probably should of made an exception there - but WhatsApp was a great thing for us.

Good luck on that, Bruce

Next year is going to be the year, though. Maybe you ought to make concessions for watching replays - pay for a condensed game or something like that ...

Dozier is a regular sub 40 at this point, how the coaches can't see this is beyond me.

I was cautiously optimistic about Holmes, he was good for the Buckeyes. Maybe playing alongside Chase Young helped vault him.

I was excited about the Dye pick up especially in the 5th or wherever he was drafted. He was fantastic at Oregon, sideline to sideline making plays all over the place. In the NFL he looks undersized and too slow.

Hope every American will be able to tune in live to watch Biden's inauguration. Democracy in action, and the peaceful transition of power is a bedrock of America.

I think after being sworn in, the new President and First Lady head to the White House where the outgoing Pres/First lady warmly greet them at the door (no awkward presents please). Fireside chat photo op, then somewhere along the line the outgoing couple graciously depart.

Dozier is absolutely worthless. On the one sack, Dozier looked like a mannequin being swept aside. That was one where you couldn't blame Cousins for holding it too long. Chicago's DT's spent the day exploiting Spielman's failure to address the OG position.

Johnson is the defensive equivalent of Dozier. Opposing offenses can build a game plan around knowing where Johnson is on the field.

I think we remain at 14th in the draft. Maybe take an undersized guard. Zone blocking and all.

Dozier, Holmes, JJohnson have shown us that they are what they are. Fringe roster guys who should only play when a team is decimated with injuries.

Dye deserves another chance with a good off season to fully learn system.

I get the whole concept that the modern lineman needs to be athletic enough to get off his first block and move to the next tier. The problem is that it only works if you can effectively if you can move that first guy. How many times have we seen that 3rd or 4th and really shortage play get stuffed in the backfield because because the middle of the other guys D line blew through the middle of our O line like shit through a goose.
