ORIGINAL: Arlowe84 Not so sure we should just assume this team will compete next year We have no idea how Hunter will play. How serious is his neck problem? Lots of questions on whether Barr is worth the money to bring back Harrison Smith may be washed. In addition to every thing else, we may need a couple of safeties. Harris was a terrible signing. Should have used that money on the dline. Pearce and Hunter alone do not solve our defense. We still are very thin on the dline. I’m not sold on Gladney. Dantzler looks like a keeper Cap will be tight, assuming, FA will be pretty light for this team. The $33-million quarterback is going to haunt this team for a couple more seasons. This I agree with Everyone like to say “Cousins isn’t the problem”. In a silo they are correct, but the issue is the return for the value Cousins is bad ROI He's a marginal quarterback making difference-maker money. He turns the ball over way too much, has ZERO pocket presence and doesn't see the field well. His decision making yesterday was awful and he was off on a lot of throws. Prime example was on the final two drives of the first half. On one they had a third and 4-5 yards and all he had to do was hit Smith in the flat for an easy first down. Instead, he gets caught trying to look downfield and gets sacked. The final possession of the half he underthrows Smith, forcing him to go to the ground to catch it for a 13-yard gain. Should have been a 20-25-yard gain if he just hits him in stride. Then the Conklin throw with no timeouts remaining. Second half on the PI call against New Orleans in the end zone, Smith was wide open for nearly a walk-in touchdown if he just finds him. The guy just has ZERO ability to feel a rush, doesn't seem to understand down and distance and locks in on receivers. And, he gives you almost nothing in running skills. He's a $15-million quarterback making $33-million.
