Zimmer: 7 seasons. 3 Playoff appearances.

Childress: 4 seasons. 2 Playoff appearances.

(Denny made the Playoffs 8 times in 9 years in comparison)

Zimmer playoff record: 2-3

Childress playoff record: 1-2

Green playoff record: 4-8

But we love Zimmer because he's a 'tough guy'.

Would you rather have Matt Patricia? Had a couple of snake bites in there too (Seattle FG miss game). You find me a Lombardi out there an I am game for firing Zimmer.....but if we get Steckle.

The one thing that Zimmer hasn't received is the QB play but most of it is due to injury......

No, people don't love Zimmer because of that---he can coach defense but he hasn't got the QB yet, Cousins has probably been the best QB we have had....

Yes I want Patricia or possibly Steckle. That's what you got from my post?

Waiting on what coach you think is out there....or do you just want him fired.

Same with Cousins....need a better one before you get rid of him.

Well I began the day by posting about the packers finally dumping McCarthy after many many seasons of not living up to expectations. Somehow they managed to find a good coach. I heard it was down to Matt LeFluer, Matt Patricia, and Les Steckel in the final interviews.

Which QB would I bring in? I don't remember saying I want a new QB. I mean, don't get me wrong I want a new QB the problem is that we're married to Cousins for a MINIMUM of one more season. If a miracle happened and Cousins and his contract magically disappeared I'd immediately go out and sign Ryan Fitzpatrick and then I'd draft a QB in round 1. I'd do my best to evaluate the rookie and if he doesn't show real signs of promise I draft a QB in round 1 of the next draft as well (like Washington should have done this year). I'd also bring Sloter back.

So with the stats showing if a HC is going to win a SB with a team it will almost assuredly be in the first 5 years, do you blow the first two years in transition? Might need to considering RS could pull more crap like maxing out the cap, drafting a record number of players, trading a 2nd for a player who plays just FIVE games, etc.

If he thinks a couple of high picks or big contracts may get a win or two, he will do it. He could totally mortgage the future for more than a couple of years. He is unchecked, unhinged, and he needs to be fired.

Exactly my thoughts Bill. He also ext Cousins for top qb money so that he could free up 10ml now. In 2022 Cousins collects 35ml + the 10ml Sick Rick used this year for his "all in" SB season. This team was already in cap hell. he made it much worse and could set this franchise back for years if left unchecked. Wilf's need to pay attention.

The first three coaches I would interview for head coach would be Eric Bieniemy, Brian Daboll, and Byron Leftwich - in that order.

Been calling for Bienemy myself
So you’re using Steckel and Patricia as coordinators then, right?

Well I'm assuming they'll be gobbled up already by the teams that already fired their coaches. We'd never be so lucky as to snag one of those sought-after gems.

Players that scored a TD today: Brandon Zylstra, Laquan Treadwell, Taylor Heinke. Mycole Pruit will get a chance tonight. I know it means nothing, just weird is all.

EDIT - omg I forgot Teddy Bridgewater

Add Diggs to the list.

Bienemy might be intrigued by some of our offensive parts ...

Add Diggs to the list.

For Zylstra and Thielen to both make it at the best level, is damn impressive for MSU and Concordia

Bieniemy is a real leap of faith. We had him on staff to coach the freakiest athlete RB we ever had. He failed or didn't recognize what he needed to do with him.

Ball security was never Bieniemy's strong suit at Colorado, Philadelphia, or with the Vikings as coach. Peterson never got better under his watch. That's unforgivable.

We can hope he got better at paying attention to obvious detail. I'm not sure he has.

The concern I always bring up with Bieniemy, is does anyone know what he's responsible for?

We all know what happened the last time we hired away Reid's OC.

Exactly. Some people gave him credit for Peterson. Come on, Peterson was a raw beast when he got here. He remained raw beast under his tutelage.

Me too!

And maybe Bieniemy has learned a lot under Reid, but I'd rather have someone that I knew was running their own offense than someone that was helping an offensive coach implement his own vision.

Especially after Childress AND DeFilippo...

Watching Diggs/Allen just tearing apart Belichek's defense...

I knew Diggs was having a good year but holy schnikes! These two are in sync and killing it.

Looking at the contenders this year, what is their strength?

Dominant defense?
Dominant run game?
Dominant OL?
Dominant QB?

I'd argue the "real" contenders all have an elite QB... this year more than ever it's clear an elite QB gets you to the dance.

Watching Buffalo struggle for years and then turn it around quickly with a gunslinger.
Similar for Cleveland.

Find a QB... nothing else matters until that guy is in place.

One of the best now
Has to be a point of emphasis at some point here
Doesn’t take a decade
Agree on the QB too

Sweet Jesus Diggs has 9 catches on 11 targets for 145 yards and 3 TDs.

We have a tendency to hate players that leave us. Fantastic, skilled WR in a run first offense. I don't blame him.
Treadwell never complained. Good company man. Maybe we bring him back next season.

If your OLine sucks in pass protection, figure it out. Adjust. They are probably not going to suddenly get better. Maybe we should shorten up Jefferson's ADoT. Maybe it would be good to have 4 legitimate pass catchers on the field at the same time.

We may be the only team in the league with just two WR's. You don't think that's a problem? Now we think we're set at TE because Conklin looked better than Rudolph? Come on, how low is the bar?

Our pass protection is poor. Our QB isn't helping that. He walks into sacks while looking for his deep option. We are built and coached to play football from 4+ decades ago.

The bar has become any thing but.... insert player here..

Rudolf , cousins, elfline, samia, Wilson, etc

That’s what it comes down to when your GM can’t find a good player or commits huge money to the last yeArs of a career.

Our cap he’ll is directly on the GM and his blackmail pictures on the ownership.

We have become used to it.

So all we want is better than.

Childress started it.

I bought into it @ Fraiser.

I was on board with Zimmer in the beginning, but his lack of evolution into a multi- dementional coach and his cronyism with assistant dinosaurs and their off spring, has got me sawing off the wheels of the bandwagon.

It doesn’t help that bitterness and other issues color my world.
