That's taking in a lot of salary in a year where it's supposed to be an epic wide receiver draft. Still, I would do it. The Vikings would instantly be a marquee team. It would be fun. (or maybe not- risky. I don't know.)

Courtney Cronin says she doubts it happens.

I'll just lay out some facts: OBJ is GTD $14 million this season (all stems from base salary). I do not think this is a move the Vikings would make for a number of reasons, but will point to the finances first.

He had an entire segment on OBJ about a month ago stating that he's perfectly fine when there is structure around him. He claimed that if there is he's completely happy. When there isn't his brained isn't wired to handle it. Claimed that once Coughlin left, OBJ didn't have structure and started lashing out. His time in CLV doesn't count...cause it's CLV and it's total chaos.

I'm for it.

Epic WR draft means we can still grab a good one in 3rd or 4th Round (if OBJ leaves after this year).

One less need in our 1st four or five picks.

Not sure how I would feel about this. Both he and Diggs have Diva issues, so it would be getting rid of one to take on another. On the other hand, the guy wasn't a problem last year on the Browns, was he? I didn't hear of any dissension that he caused, but I was in China, so there may have been something I didn't hear about.

As far as the money, if they can work it out, he is a guy that can take the top off of a defense at any moment, being thrown to by a guy that throws a beautiful deep ball, it will certainly make the running game interesting as it takes two players out of the mix every play. I don't think this is going to happen, I hope it doesn't, but if it did, there could be some serious fun on the offensive side of the ball next year, just from the play perspective!

I hoped Jackson was going to be the man so we could call him "Action Jackson" like the Carl Weather's movie.

No way do you pay a running back, I heard a very interesting think on the radio by an ex NFL lineman. He said running in today's NFL is all about how many are in the box and calling an audible in or out of a running play based on having as many blockers as defenders. He said years ago it was different, he said they would run even when there was more defenders than blockers and it was up to the running back to get the extra guy to miss. I found it very interesting.

He said Henry ran well for Titans because Tannehill was burning teams with the deep ball and defenses would rather give up 5 yards a crack to Henry vs the long pass.

I just wouldn't pay Cook, no way. OLine and a passing game would do more for a running game than who is the running back.

Sadly, we still do that too much...

I am more worried with OBJ's injuries than his attitude. NYG and Cleveland have been chaos since Coughlin left NYG.

Injury history is critical here, but if we make this deal we turned Diggs and 2nd and 5th round picks next year into OBJ, 22 overall 155 and some 6th round pick this year plus a 4th round pick next year. Is OBJ as good or better than Diggs? I bet Cousins could do a lot better with him than Manning and Mayfield. If I understand correctly OBJ will cost us 3-4 million more per year than we still owed Diggs.

That would actually make sense. Word is the Browns want Harris, and the swap of salaries would make it feasible for the Vikings. If RS goes this route he should then trade up in the 1st round for Ceedee Lamb. In 3 WR sets we'd have Theilen, OBJ and Lamb on the field with Cook in the backfield. Use your other draft picks to address oline and look out!

He is even better than Diggs at catching downfield passes and he's never had a quarterback with the arm and the accuracy of Cousins. Defenses would have to respect that and Cook should be explosive as a result. Thielen will be better too.

That would be too much investment in the WR position. OBJ and Thielen will be plenty along with another pretty talented WR we get in the draft.

They won’t have to respect it if we can’t block long enough for the play to develop. Would have to draft heavy on Oline (which we should do anyway)

Harris for OBJ straight up or walk away. OBJ has talent but he’s prone to letting defenders get in his head which affects his focus at times.

I'd rather do any number of moves than trading away a 2nd and a 5th to get OBJ. Especially with a WR class that is being described as historic.

Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter says trade rumor is false.

Odell Beckham Jr. Trade Rumors: Report of Vikings, Browns Talks ‘False’
ADAM WELLS

FILE – In this Dec. 22, 2019, file photo, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reacts before an NFL football game against the Baltimore Ravens, in Cleveland. A misdemeanor simple battery warrant has been issued for Cleveland Browns wide receiver and former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr., police in New Orleans said Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. The warrant comes as video posted on social media appears to show Beckham swatting a security officer’s buttocks during LSU’s locker room victory celebration after Monday night’s college national championship game in the Superdome. After trading Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason, the Minnesota Vikings have been linked to talks with the Cleveland Browns about a deal for Odell Beckham Jr. in a report that has since been denied.

Per WFAN radio host Marc Malusis, the deal being discussed would require the Vikings to send their second- and fifth-round draft picks in 2021 to Cleveland in exchange for Beckham. However, a source spoke to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, calling the report "false."

ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler reported after the NFL Scouting Combine that the Browns were planning to have Beckham on their roster in 2020, but "they’d think about" trading him if another team blew them away with an offer.

The Browns sent Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Zeitler, and two 2019 draft picks to the New York Giants for Beckham and Olivier Vernon. Beckham had a solid year with 1,035 yards and four touchdowns, but the team struggled on its way to a 6-10 record.

Beckham was seen as a key piece to get the franchise over the hump coming off a promising 7-8-1 record in 2018 with Baker Mayfield looking like a future star as a rookie. But Beckham and Mayfield rarely seemed to be on the same page.

Minnesota has 12 total draft picks this year, including five in the first three rounds. The Vikings received first-, fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2020 draft, as well as a fourth-round pick next year from the Buffalo Bills as part of the Diggs deal.

Diggs led the Vikings with 1,130 receiving yards in 2019. No other player on the team had more than 519.

I'm not saying she isn't right.

But, of course they are going to deny it. If it falls through, they can tell OBJ they had no intent of trading him.

Like us and Percy.
