I'd rather trade Reiff and a 4th for Trent Williams.....

I'd rather do any number of moves than trading away a 2nd and a 5th to get OBJ. Especially with a WR class that is being described as historic.

If RS was asking us to vote on it, I would be a no!

But since he doesn't give a crap what I think, I can only hope that he has been given the green light to go get a championship next year. Get OBJ, trade for Williams, Get a top corner with our 22nd, Ruiz with our 25th and your offense suddenly looks pretty damn impressive. The future might be thin for the future, but that does look like an offense that can compete against any defense. Just say'in!

I don't see it as an all or nothing deal.

More than likely you would keep Williams.

OBJ probably leaves but we could draft a solid WR this year in 3rd or 4th.

You lose 2nd and 5th but we have a 4th coming from Buffalo next year and we are looking good on the compensatory picks for next year.

Received a one-word answer from a source close to the #Vikings about the report they're talking to the #Browns about trading for Odell Beckham Jr. for a 2nd & 5th next year: "False"

LOL---Prob happening for sure now.

Probably Harris and a 5th.

That would actually make sense. Word is the Browns want Harris, and the swap of salaries would make it feasible for the Vikings. If RS goes this route he should then trade up in the 1st round for Ceedee Lamb. In 3 WR sets we'd have Theilen, OBJ and Lamb on the field with Cook in the backfield. Use your other draft picks to address oline and look out!

That would be too much investment in the WR position. OBJ and Thielen will be plenty along with another pretty talented WR we get in the draft.

Agree here, get the CB and OL and maybe DE addressed early and get another WR in 3rd or 4th round.

Yep 100%. Coach Charlie Weiss on Sirius NFL Radio this year was talking about trade rumors. He said that if it's being talked about in the media or among sportswriters then 100% guarantee that the team(s) are talking about it. He said in all his years in coaching any time rumors were leaked there was always at least some truth to it. Conversely he says he never once heard false rumors getting tossed around unless the team itself purposefully put it out there.

It would be a bold move....they need something bold....Williams and/or OBJ plus 12 picks is bold.

Some quick fun facts and trivia:

In 2011 there were three WRs selected in the first round, two of which were AJ Green and Julio Jones who have been to multiple Pro Bowls. Since then, how many WRs drafted in the first round have made the Pro Bowl? A few hints: One made the Pro Bowl as a kick returner, one of them is the subject of trade rumors today. How many and who are they?

The money just doesn't work for OBJ if Reiff and/or Harris are on the roster. If the Vikings could trade a 4th and Reiff for Williams, and a 5th and Harris for OBJ I'd do it in a heartbeat. Plus RS would still have 10 draft picks this year to fill out the roster, including 5 in the first 3 rounds.

The best thing about the OBJ trade if it happens......they are next years picks.....CB/OT/WR are ripe this year....Auburn DT also.

Yep I love the idea of having a proven great WR to pair with Thielen and still having all those picks.

I read that... but I wonder if the phrasing is... 2nd round pick (this year) and 5th round pick next year.

Good question. I haven't seen it really clearly stated, but the vibe I get is both picks will be next year.

People are denying it, but I do believe there is some steam on the trade. Maybe it is still unlikely. I'm going to say it probably won't happen. But there's still a chance.

Well this didn't take off at all. The answer was five. Mike Evans, Cordarelle Patterson, OBJ, Deandre Hopkins, and Amare Cooper. Just five WRs drafted in the first round since 2011 have made a Pro Bowl and one of them was as a returner.

My first reaction to this was I hope not.

But on the other hand it generates some buzz and would make us relevant.

It also is something a lame duck GM would do to keep his job. Go all in.

Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter says trade rumor is false.

Odell Beckham Jr. Trade Rumors: Report of Vikings, Browns Talks ‘False’
ADAM WELLS
APRIL 15, 2020
123
FILE – In this Dec. 22, 2019, file photo, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reacts before an NFL football game against the Baltimore Ravens, in Cleveland. A misdemeanor simple battery warrant has been issued for Cleveland Browns wide receiver and former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr., police in New Orleans said Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. The warrant comes as video posted on social media appears to show Beckham swatting a security officer’s buttocks during LSU’s locker room victory celebration after Monday night’s college national championship game in the Superdome. David Richard/Associated Press
After trading Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason, the Minnesota Vikings have been linked to talks with the Cleveland Browns about a deal for Odell Beckham Jr. in a report that has since been denied.

Per WFAN radio host Marc Malusis, the deal being discussed would require the Vikings to send their second- and fifth-round draft picks in 2021 to Cleveland in exchange for Beckham. However, a source spoke to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, calling the report "false."

ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler reported after the NFL Scouting Combine that the Browns were planning to have Beckham on their roster in 2020, but "they’d think about" trading him if another team blew them away with an offer.

The Browns sent Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Zeitler, and two 2019 draft picks to the New York Giants for Beckham and Olivier Vernon. Beckham had a solid year with 1,035 yards and four touchdowns, but the team struggled on its way to a 6-10 record.

Beckham was seen as a key piece to get the franchise over the hump coming off a promising 7-8-1 record in 2018 with Baker Mayfield looking like a future star as a rookie. But Beckham and Mayfield rarely seemed to be on the same page.

Minnesota has 12 total draft picks this year, including five in the first three rounds. The Vikings received first-, fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2020 draft, as well as a fourth-round pick next year from the Buffalo Bills as part of the Diggs deal.

Diggs led the Vikings with 1,130 receiving yards in 2019. No other player on the team had more than 519.

I'm not saying she isn't right.

But, of course they are going to deny it. If it falls through, they can tell OBJ they had no intent of trading him.

Like us and Percy.

No way in hell this happens...
