Sorry if my post explaining some of what Bruce MIGHT be going through was out of place. It seemed to me to be a natural progression from the discussion that was going on, and since I have some knowledge specific to someone's question, I thought I'd try to add clarity if possible.

An NFL team is a stadium, a facility, some dozens of people who work for the team, a couple dozen coaching/training personnel, sixty-some to ninety players, and legions of fans, millions and more for every team. If one of those fans in a team fan forum like this one has an impact in their lives like Bruce has, it certainly has a place in the general forum. My post was about Bruce, not about COVID-19 Coronavirus resulting in mechanical ventilation. And if that spills over into a little too much clinical talk for you, scroll the fukk down. If a Vikings fan has issues with scrolling that are so immense that it causes catastrophic levels of angst and frustration, then I guess we can talk about that in here, too. Like we just have.

Get well, Bruce.

Calm yourself, Scott.

I much appreciated your post.

We have a lot of posters that don't go to the Politics threads (or at least don't post there). So, IMO, this is exactly the thread where we should be talking about one of our own.

Absolutely!

Pretty sad "getting off topic" bothers some people so much ... especially this particular situation - never witnessed a more appropriate time for it in all my time here (1998)

- good time to ask yourself why it's so important to you, why you're so bothered by it ...

I recently crossed paths with Bruce on Twitter, so I found his feed again and it hasn't been updated since Tuesday morning when he posted the same thing he did on here about soon going on a ventilator. I did a search on his wife's name, which is part of his Twitter handle, and found a Facebook page that doesn't contain much for non-friends. I put in a friend request, but obviously she doesn't recognize me as anything but some creepy mofo from Cali who seems to have put in a friend request for no reason. I'll let you guys know if I learn anything from those sources.

Good try though bohumm. I especially liked your info on ventilators & oximeters earlier.

Me too. Good info

Incidently, I went ahead & ordered an oximeter yesterday due to health issues w/ wife & I. Another monitoring device to go along with our blood pressure gear. Oops .....went off topic a bit.

I hope Bruce is doing okay. It is really bothering me that we don't know how he is doing.

Yeah especially when there is about as much of ZERO happening in the NFL. As if that should be any excuse for the callousness towards one of our own in the seriousness of Bruce predicament.

I hope that Bruce gave his wife some instruction to post something here when there is news.

I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day, especially posters who have lost family members or friends in wars and other conflicts. We have it pretty great due to their sacrifices.

BINGO!!!

Covid 19 has shown us what it is like to live in some of these other countries that are not as fortunate.

It is for a different and necessary reason(health) but losing freedom and opportunities stinks.

What they hell is all this Covid Talk in the General Vikings thread?

Move it to where it belongs please.

That is so rich, coming from a guy who has no problem injecting politics for his tag line.

Seriously?

That shit ended days ago.

Why are you trying to restart it now?

I am very offended by your Tag Line. I love Dr. Seuss and he would have made a great President.

Perhaps it may have something to do with a half assed apology/ non apology when a simple “I’m sorry for an insane remark about taking this conversation out of this thread when it could’ve been a posters last post in here?

Just a guess really...

I really appreciate this statement because not only did this happen blocks from US Bank stadium but I was reminded that George Floyd worked security at Vikings games, when I saw his picture, OMG that’s Big G from the games. This hurts more than you know! #ICantBreathe

That's very adult of you. There's also the argument for not letting blatant knuckleheaded-ness slide by.

The post was inappropriate and rankled everybody; the guilty party refuses to own up to it. So, yes, it lingers in the craw.

Especially since, at this point, I am coming in here daily hoping for some positive news about Bruce – more than Vikings news ... ironic in light of Trekgeekscott's post.

Let's put it another way Tom. I don't think Bruce would be one bit happy to log in and read a weeks worth of this shit. I also believe Bruce would harbor no bad feelings toward Scott because that's how he is.

I don't agree with what Scott said, but he said it. Pretty much everyone in the forum has taken turns calling him an asshole for over a week now. It should be out of your systems. Let it go! Talk football or well wishes for Bruce. That's what he would to read when he comes out of this.

Thinking of Bruce and also hoping to see him post soon:

https://theathletic.com/1810857/2020/05/18/college-football-25-most-dominant-teams-50-years/

Our 1998 Vikings were ranked 16th. Set a scoring record (since broken). Scored 24 or more every game.

Only team on list to not win the SuperBowl.

Not easy being a Viking Fan.

I can’t dispute anything you say but to each their own.

I unloaded what I’ve been thinking ... albeit way too late and, therefore, out of place.

IMO the original post was a one-off error from a good poster - I obviously have misfired on many many posts.

I’m done as well, with apologies.

Wow. How do things like this happen. Was it a counterfeit bill or a bad check? Why would things escalate over a small amount of bad money like that?
