Nice trade for the Lakers

Beverley will help them and they dump THT’s horrible contract.

Oklahoma City Thunder 7-footer Chet Holmgren will miss the 2022-2023 season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot. Holmgren, the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, suffered the injury in a Pro-Am game in Seattle on Saturday.

Wow I normally don’t associate a foot injury with losing an entire season. What a blow to the Thunder.

With big guys especially, its not uncommon.

And a Lisfranc injury is a really big deal. Damage to the ligaments and/or bones make up the area near the midfoot transition to the forefoot.

Its a rare basketball injury. Usually you see it football players. (The Panthers Rookie QB is out for the season for the same thing).

More than 90% of NFL athletes who sustained Lisfranc injuries returned to play in the NFL at a median of 11.1 months from time of injury.

I thought back to Ilgauskas, who was plagued by foot problems for a fair amount of his career. Thought that might have been Lisfranc but it wasn't. Here are 5 NBA players who dealt with the injury.

I saw that too. Condensation on the floor. But Presti was on record saying he didn't think that was a factor.

He pretty clearly injured it when he came down awkwardly on LeBron's foot trying to contest his shot.

Sources: The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, three first-round picks and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz for Donovan Mitchell.

So Utah now has 7 future first round picks, not even counting their own?

After receiving further evaluation, Boston’s Danilo Gallinari has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee, per sources. This is the same ACL that Gallinari tore in 2013.

Not really. But perhaps the Celtics, whom Ainge built with a similar strategy is a more fitting example.

Supposedly, Gersson Rosas was the lead negotiator for the Knicks in their failed attempt to acquire Mitchell.

Philly tried it until ownership was sick of the continual rebuild. OKC actually have a pretty good core.

I didn't watch any of the Lakers/Warriors tilt (caught the highlights), but I watched the entire Celtics/76ers game.

Small sample size, but my takeaway is that they're back to allowing the cheap fouls that seem to be the basis for Harden to pad his stats by initiating the contact. I really liked that they tried to curtail that last year.

Kinda disappointed in that.

LMAO, James who is media savvy kept throwing Westbrook under the bus while saying he's not about that.

LeBron James, who led L.A. with 31 points but missed a potential game-tying jumper at the buzzer, was asked about his philosophy on going for a two-for-one when you have the lead, instead of playing from behind.

"I feel like this is an interview of trying to set me up to say something," James said. "I can tell that you guys are in the whole Russell Westbrook category right now. I don't like to lose. I hate to lose at anything. I don't care what happens throughout the course of my season or throughout the course of my career, I hate to lose. And especially the way we had this game. But give credit to Portland.

"You guys can write about Russ and all the things you want to try to talk about Russ, but I'm not up here to do that. I won't do it. I've said it over and over. That is not my [M.O.]. That's not who I am."

Steve Nash fired or stepping down depending how you look at it.
It seems the Brooklyn Nets are more willing to turn a blind eye towards office romances than the Celtics or Wolves as they are hiring Ime Udoka.
The Nets plan to hire Ime Udoka as their next head coach, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
While Jacque Vaughn may lead the Nets against Chicago on Tuesday, Udoka will be at the helm for the remainder of the season. Boston will allow Udoka to leave with no compensation in return being reported. He was suspended indefinitely by the Celtics after inappropriate workplace behavior with a female employee and was not expected to coach them after his suspension ended. Udoka did have success leading Boston last season, guiding them to the NBA Finals in his only season as their head coach. Udoka was previously an assistant for Brooklyn and reportedly challenged Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving consistently. The Nets will be filled with drama between Irving, Udoka and Ben Simmons, but they'll hope that the stars align for a turnaround after a 2-5 start to the season.

Sounds like the Nets are going to go after disgraced Boston Coach that was suspended: Udoka.
