Steve Nash fired or stepping down depending how you look at it.
It seems the Brooklyn Nets are more willing to turn a blind eye towards office romances than the Celtics or Wolves as they are hiring Ime Udoka.
The Nets plan to hire Ime Udoka as their next head coach, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
While Jacque Vaughn may lead the Nets against Chicago on Tuesday, Udoka will be at the helm for the remainder of the season. Boston will allow Udoka to leave with no compensation in return being reported. He was suspended indefinitely by the Celtics after inappropriate workplace behavior with a female employee and was not expected to coach them after his suspension ended. Udoka did have success leading Boston last season, guiding them to the NBA Finals in his only season as their head coach. Udoka was previously an assistant for Brooklyn and reportedly challenged Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving consistently. The Nets will be filled with drama between Irving, Udoka and Ben Simmons, but they'll hope that the stars align for a turnaround after a 2-5 start to the season.

Sounds like the Nets are going to go after disgraced Boston Coach that was suspended: Udoka.

You think?

Not even shy about it, either.

Nets have suspended Kyrie Irving at least five games without pay.

BROOKLYN (Nov. 3, 2022) —

"Over the last several days, we have made repeated attempts to work with Kyrie Irving to help him understand the harm and danger of his words and actions, which began with him publicizing a film containing deeply disturbing antisemitic hate. We believed that taking the path of education in this challenging situation would be the right one and thought that we had made progress with our joint commitment to eradicating hate and intolerance.

We were dismayed today, when given an opportunity in a media session, that Kyrie refused to unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs, nor acknowledge specific hateful material in the film. This was not the first time he had the opportunity - but failed - to clarify.

Such failure to disavow antisemitism when given a clear opportunity to do so is deeply disturbing, is against the values of our organization, and constitutes conduct detrimental to the team. Accordingly, we are of the view that he is currently unfit to be associated with the Brooklyn Nets. We have decided that Kyrie will serve a suspension without pay until he satisfies a series of objective remedial measures that address the harmful impact of his conduct and the suspension period served is no less than five games."

Gotta wonder how much of these Irving shenanigans are because he's a certified wing nut, versus trying to force a trade.

Is it possible for the Nets to look worse than they do right now?

Nets name assistant Jacque Vaughn head coach: Why Brooklyn moved on from potential Ime Udoka hire

The Nets changed course from their initial plan to hire Udoka due to several factors, multiple sources with direct knowledge of the decision-making told The Athletic. These factors include an investigation and due diligence process by the Nets into the suspended coach taking longer than initially expected, the outcry after word of their plan became known to people outside and inside the organization and the short- and long-term question marks around the team’s ability to contend in the Eastern Conference as a result of the indefinite suspension of Irving.

LMAO, James who is media savvy kept throwing Westbrook under the bus while saying he's not about that.

LeBron James, who led L.A. with 31 points but missed a potential game-tying jumper at the buzzer, was asked about his philosophy on going for a two-for-one when you have the lead, instead of playing from behind.

"I feel like this is an interview of trying to set me up to say something," James said. "I can tell that you guys are in the whole Russell Westbrook category right now. I don't like to lose. I hate to lose at anything. I don't care what happens throughout the course of my season or throughout the course of my career, I hate to lose. And especially the way we had this game. But give credit to Portland.

"You guys can write about Russ and all the things you want to try to talk about Russ, but I'm not up here to do that. I won't do it. I've said it over and over. That is not my [M.O.]. That's not who I am."

Is there anyone in that Organization that will tell Buss/Pelinka that it is time to blow it up?

It is about a year too late to do it but just get whatever you can for James and Davis. If it ends up one total 1st rounder and a bunch of expiring contracts, perfect.

It's basically a money grab by the organization keeping LBJ around so he can put up stats and break Kareem's record. Let him do it in a different uniform.

Lakers philosophy in a nut shell.

Celebrate LBJ's accomplishment(rightfully so) but no one would ever know that they lost the game.

LBJ sit out next game(I'm guessing the good old general soreness) and lose.

Kerr is right. Today's players need a 72 game season. The players from 80s, 90s and early 2000s must be shaking their heads. All the modern day treatments and these guys still can't handle back to backs.

Come on man, it wasn't general soreness. It was his ankle!

What's even stranger about the whole back to back thing compared to earlier times is they don't play defense so less energy is expended. And there is not as much energy expended on offense. Rather than a lot of motion, it's often 60% of the team standing in place ready to launch a three.

I think Popovich started it. Maybe there is something to it.

First off, let me say that there are so many great athletes and some unbelievable shot makers in today's NBA.

But, the rules favor the offense so much that the numbers put up almost deserve an asterisk. The NFL was getting to that point and then something changed and it got balanced again. NBA needs to find that balance for us old schoolers.

I can't imagine actually buying tickets and going to a game in current environment. You often end up spending a lot of money to see G-League quality of play.

Also, as online gambling keeps growing, betting on basketball is too much work. I can't assume the lineups are legit or set.

If you live where your team is located, I could see buying tickets.

I'm about 5.5 hours away from Minneapolis. Only way I'm going to TWolves game is because I'm in town to watch Vikes.

I hold my breath when he is walking back to bench for a substitution.

Let him play.

Yeah, right now (and really since the trades) you have to go for it.

So what about Reaves in terms of a contract? He's going like gangbusters but how would he be starting all the time?

Reaves will be interesting. Lakers only have "Early Bird" rights, so the most they can offer is four-years, $50.8 million.

Now, they can still match any offer that another team gives him, but since he's an "Arenas Free Agent", other teams could make things ugly.

All I ask is they keep LBJ out of it.

Horton Tucker instead of Caruso. Trading Kuzma and Harrell for Westbrook.

Beginning in 2024, all invited players will be required to attend and participate in the NBA draft combine or be ineligible to be drafted until the "first subsequent draft for which the player attends and fully participates."

Participation will include league medical examinations, sharing of medical history and biomechanical and functional movement testing, as well as strength and agility testing, shooting drills, performance testing and anthropometric measurements. Players will also be required to conduct team interviews, media circuits, player development sessions and other assessments, as determined by the NBA in consultation with the NBPA. Players will not be compelled to compete in 5-on-5 scrimmaging, which typically only a handful of first-round prospects elect to participate in.

In the three-point era, 663 players have taken at least 200 shots in the playoffs.

D’Angelo Russell ranks 659th in terms of FG% (34.5).

He sucks... until he doesn't. A tease. A rich man's Irv Smith. Throw the money at Reaves, a gamble but better than throwing it at a known bad.

Plus they can better round out the roster.

Even when he tries, he struggles. He's very slow, and despite being big for a PG, he's not at all strong.

Memphis hunted him in the Playoffs against us last year the exact same way.

But he was a disaster on offense last night as well. Couldn't even throw an entry pass to AD.

If only Jimmy Butler wasn't such a meanie to his Timberwolves teammates.....

Knock out the Bucks with Love, Strus and Vincent as your supporting cast. None of those three would start on even a non-playoff team. Spoelstra is low key the best coach in the league. And Butler is really good.

Look at the disparity of individual talent between those teams. Holiday, Middleton, Giannis and Lopez. 35 year old Lopez may have had his best season ever.
Meanwhile Strus, Vincent, Love and Martin mostly just try to stay out of the way of Butler and Adebayo.
