Does anybody really believe that LeBron will retire this year?
Not a chance.

He won't retire until he can play a season with his son.

Not sure if he is doing it for the right reasons. Don't know the scouting report on Bronny but sounds like he needs more seasoning at the college level.

If Bronny isn't really really good at USC but still goes in Draft and Lakers pick him just to satisfy Lebron that will be such a farce for the Lakers and NBA in general. Be like Pro Wrestling at that point.

There is a reason LeBron is only going to be playing on 1 year contracts from here out.

It gives him the flexibility to sign anywhere that his kid ends up - even if he has to play for (relative) peanuts to do so.

Will the Heat even win a game against a well oiled/rested Nuggets team?

I'm guessing they win 2.

Re Russell, has anyone been so horrid in the playoffs?

There are two-way contracts, but he gets a no-way contract.

And it’s every year.

I think I say that he and Julius Randle are the biggest playoff chokers in history.

I don’t think the Heat can score enough to beat Denver. Maybe it goes 5.

Anyone else really looking forward to this series? More than normal I mean? As for me, in recent years by the time the final rolled around I was bored with the whole thing. But this one intrigues me on many levels.

Of course Denver should be a big favorite, but after what Miami has accomplished in this run, logic goes out the window.

Crickets? Really? Game 3 starting soon!

Okay. Game one 1 watched most of and it was kind of a bore. I only saw the last quarter of game 2 and it was good. Games 3 should be pivotal, and exciting?

Curious thing about Miami. They lost seven of their last nine games. Went 0-5 at home, 2-2 on the road.

I think Miami's shooting fell back to the mean (which wasn't good all season) after a hot streak.

The big 3 in the East really had bad melt downs this post season. I give Miami props for taking advantage of that. Denver simply played lights out all post season.

Denver celebrating, congrats. But why are the Lakers living rent free in their head?

P.S. Conor McGregor has been a loose cannon for years. Hope he's locked up.

Denver didn't even break a sweat sweeping the Lakers. I'm sure they all sleep just fine at night.

Point is, it is odd the owner and coach (?) were disparaging the Lakers during the victory celebration.

Nuggets with no Championship hangover. Lakers cut into the lead and made it look like a game several times, but Jokic is really good at basketball.

I don't understand why the Lakers wanted Wood. I think the Wolves were also interested. Glad we didn't get him. He's a tremendous liability on defense and he appears to wear out his welcome real quick. The idea of Christian Wood is way better than the reality. Is this is eighth team? I guess if/when Davis gets injured, he'll have his chance to shine on offense but the team will suffer.

Also, so glad that Russell is not a Timberwolve.

Reaves, on the other hand, continues to impress me. Wasn't initially a fan, but he has won me over. Smart, solid, gritty player that continues to improve.

Good defense vs. Haliburton fails in the in-season tournament. Odds on favorite to win the NBA Championship loses to one of the worst defenses in the league, with big money on the line.

Meanwhile, Haliburton is rivaling Jokic as the best offensive player in the game, and those behind them aren't even close.

I have no idea why opposing teams aren't constantly putting Haliburton in the pic and roll. The best way to neutralize him is to attack his weakness/defense.

It's fun watching him play on offense though.

Impressive win by Milwaukee. Probably the best they have looked so far this season, especially against a good defense. It's nice to see Middleton getting up to 26 minutes. And Lopez continues to impress me. His defense, and blocked shots, may be as good as ever and he's in his 15th season. I remember when he didn't even know how to shoot a three. He reinvented his game and adapted, and has become a very valuable player on that team. An underrated Center in the league I think.

On the season, they have struggled so far but I expect them to get better. Trading the defense of Holiday for the offense of Lillard is still a work in progress.

I wasn't a big fan of the in-season tournament, still not all on board, but I have to admit, it has provided some exciting December basketball.
A lot less load management, rest, illness, phantom injuries compared to normal Nov/Dec basketball.

And the players have taken it very seriously. There has been an intensity that you never see early in seasons.
