Here's video released yesterday that first of all confirms that the Vikings would have drafted Darrisaw at 14. Right before we picked the Jets called with an offer too good to pass up. You seldom see such candid information.

i have to say, watching highlights of Westbrook and smith-marsette - ihmir looks like the better product...more confident, aggressive, willing, faster - better at every level...i think we needed another receiver so i'm happy with the pick up of Westbrook for the price, but ihmir is the man....

no way beebe makes the final 53...keep johnson, and chisena if we really need his st play....

kene nwangwu was a wasted pick - he'll never be an nfl rb and he won't translate into a top nfl kick returner...Abdullah is much more valuable as a 3rd down option and we don't need four rb's....

pierce, Tomlinson, richardson and watts at dt...weatherly moves inside on passing downs...everyone else goes....

surratt or dye might work as barr's replacement next year, but eric wilson was a better athlete than both of those guys, but like Wilson they can't get off blocks to play the run...we need a physical presence as our 'base' linebacker - vigil stays and connelly goes to the practice squad to replace vigil if needed....

He's got some swagger.

You all are such skeptics. You'd probably complain even if they hung you with a new rope.

Maybe there was a bunch of conversation about passing on him because his groin problem might linger. I don't know.

Courtney Cronin@CourtneyRCronin
Wyatt Davis is the third team center right now. Oli Udoh is getting third team right guard reps. Vikings continue to mix around offensive linemen.

Courtney Cronin@CourtneyRCronin
Bisi Johnson just came out of the training room and got in a golf cart with a large brace on his right leg.

courtney cronin writes up a pretty thorough synopsis for each day at training camp - this is what she wrote about the d-line from Friday...below i'm posting the links for days 2 and 3 - she's worth following....

i asked assistant head coach/d-line coach andre patterson about some of the tweaks they're making with the defensive scheme, like having their defensive ends stand up to rush the passer and positioning edge rushers as outside linebackers...i fires noticed this back in the spring with stephen weatherly and again today with dj wonnum lining up as olb in 11-on-11 and playing up closer to the line the following snap before dropping back into coverage...if training camp is any indication of some of the changes we'll see to the rush plan, i'd anticipate this being one of them...here's what Patterson had to say about utilizing weatherly in this manner: 'when stephen was here before, you remember he stood up and played inside: he played on the left, he played on the right, we dropped him a to,' patterson said...'because he has the athleticism to be able to do those types of things...him being able to do that, we already knew he could do it because we had him in that role when he was here before...and obviously Danielle has the ability to do that, and now we're looking at the young cats to see if they have the ability to do that.'

IF Barr can end Rodger's season on 11/21/21, then the Vikings can win the division, otherwise they will finish 2nd in the division.

Hi Kurt! Good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well.

I"m sure I will. Guy in town has season tickets and is willing to sell. My kid wants to go to the Seattle game but I'm not sure yet.

We're flying down to Atlanta to see the Truist Stadium next week.

I would love to see you guys again.

It sounds like Wyatt has been working out at center, and Udoh has been getting reps at rg. Could this mean that he might get the nod at center over Bradbury, and Udoh will start at rg? That would be interesting. Still doesn't fix the Darrisaw situation, but it could be an interesting thing to keep an eye on.

Mond has a positive test. Other QBs are high risk candidates.

Get it out of the way now. Better than during the season.

The #Vikings are expected to be without three quarterbacks -- including starter Kirk Cousins -- for tonight's practice after rookie Kellen Mond tested positive for COVID-19, per league sources.

Cousins is a high-risk close contact. The team is going through contact tracing.

I’m told Jake Browning is expected to get all the reps tonight at QB for Minnesota’s primetime practice on @nflnetwork

Zimmer clearly frustrated. Tersely explains this is why people should get vaccinated. "Some people don't understand I guess"

Jake Browning is "vaccinated. That helps to be the backup" says Zimmer

“This Delta variant is tough and you can see the cases going up. For the sake of everybody it’s important, but some don’t see it that way.” - Coach Zimmer

Did they ever figure out how long (natural) antibodies give protection?

Fully vaccinated people are getting it. And, I guess, transmitting it. Probably highly unlikely but it is happening(Don Mattingly)

I doubt Zim has the same message if Mond got it after being vaccinated. I think it would have been noted. I'm sure the message was mostly meant for Kirk...

If the natural antibodies give 6 month protection, Kirk should have Mond sneeze on him a few times. Be back at it for 2nd and 3rd Pre Season games.

A vaccinated player(Browning) could contract "Delta" and get rid of it before anyone would know(they wouldn't even know). They get tested once every 2 weeks.
