We are getting 100 to 1

ODDS TO WIN 2015 SUPER BOWL

I would have no problem putting $10 down.

In this age of turning things around quickly, those numbers (100 to 1) are rather insulting.
I'd use that to build some fire.

I think we could be a 10+ win season, however, I think we need the following.

1. Our D line needs to be as athletic as I think they can be. I've felt Jared Allen was overrated for years. I think our guys can creates a lot of havoc up front, and either no, our back 7 is improved, and Zimmer seems to be intent on adding more speed. But I think we are a couple players away.

Playcalling will help, our guys won't just be sitting back anymore. We may get burnt at times, but I also think we'll have more big plays.

2. Barr needs to be as good as advertised. He is far and away our most athletic player in the back 7. Lavar Arrington predicts he will be rookie of the year. We need him to make plays right now.

3. Oline/Cassel. With a guy like Cassel the Oline needs to pick it's level up a couple notches. We need our Oline to play stellar all year. If they are average, Cassel will struggle, and we will likely see Bridgewater sooner rather than later.

Cassel looked great in the preseason against vanilla schemes, and starters going through the motions for the most part.

On short drops, Cassel has to do a much better job getting the ball over/in between the DL. This has been a major weakness of his.

I do agree with you, Cassel needs very good pass protection to be effective. Average or below, pass protection, and Cassel will struggle mightily.

Hopefully Kalil brings it. We need him to be solid.

Super Bowl winner: Denver; AFC champion: Denver; NFC champion: San Francisco

AFC East: New England; AFC West: Denver; AFC North: Cincinnati; AFC South: Indianapolis; Wild cards: San Diego, Kansas City

NFC East: Philadelphia; NFC West: Seattle; NFC North: Green Bay; NFC South: New Orleans; Wild cards: San Francisco, Chicago

I wonder if all the sports writers even watched the Super Bowl last year or are they just lost in the Peyton Manning worship?

PS - did they also fall asleep when watching SF all offseason and preseason? WTH!

I wonder if Denver learned anything from last year?

I get that records are cool - and there had to be a bit of Peyton wanting to prove he wasn't washed up. But how do you let a 37 year-old QB throw the ball nearly 700 times? Especially when so many of the throws were for nothing more than late game stat-padding?

OK,

So it occurred to me rather suddenly while I was napping…er….working at my desk today. The NFL season officially opens on Thursday…so I had better get to my annual predictions (most of which suck, all of which are completely pulled outta my ass).

So I will start with the NFC on this one and another post will predict the lesser conference.

NFC Least
Four not so good teams.
This division really is the Eagles to lose. But you are putting all your faith in Nick Foles to carry your team. The Eagles benefit from playing in a division with a Giants team that is self destructing. A Redskins team that is in the beginning stages of one of the finest QB controversies of the year, and a Cowboys team that Has Tony Romo continuing to start and finding new and exciting ways to **** up games at the end .

Eagles win the division, everyone else stays home.

NFC South
Tampa with new coach, Carolina with all new WRs and revamped Oline, Cam Newton is ****ed, Atlanta hoping to rebound but come on people. Saints aren’t giving this division to any of these question marks. Only possible competition for the Saints is the Falcons, and they need a HUGE season out of Ryan and Jones for it to happen. Not holding my breath

NFC West.
Holy Hannah this is a tough division, but my bold prediction comes here and it is three fold. ONE, The 49ers will NOT make the playoffs. Two The Seahawks will not win the division, but will be a wildcard, and the Cardinals will shock everyone (what makes me think this? I don’t know…just need to throw a wrench in things and remember, my predictions are entirely pulled out of my ass). Rams season went down the tubes with Bradford’s knee, and they deserve it not being prepared for an oft-injured QB to be injured.
NFC North
Purple shades here we come…except not so fast…
Packers season, like any other depends entirely on whether Aaron Rodgers can stay on the field. I don’t think he can…Bears should be world stoppers but always find ways to **** it up. Lions are the Lions, and the Vikings are resurgent.

Packers win the division (and it pains me to say that) with the Vikings and Bears fighting it out for second place and the last wildcard.
Vikings win the wild card.

NFC playoffs
Vikings defeat Eagles
Seahawks def. Cardinals
Div
Saints def Seahawks
Vikings defeat Packers
NFC Championships
Vikings get revenge for 2009.
Vikings go on to win the Superbowl!

See? Purple shades…

And now let’s talk about the AFC.

AFC East
Does anyone really think there is a team in this division that can unseat Tom Terrific and the Brady Bunch? Me either. And none of the other teams are close to playoff worthy.

AFC South
Luck. That’s what it will take to win this division, Luck. As in Andrew.
Who else? Jags are setting new standards for suck, but Bortles is on the way! Titans haven’t been relevant since 2001. Texans have some playmakers but are counting on journeyman Fitzpatrick to carry them to promised land. LOL

AFC North.
Black and Blue but a shadow of it’s normal self. Bengals and Steelers should battle this division out with the Ravens trying to remain relevant…but I just don’t see them getting back to the Superbowl tam they were before.

AFC West.
First eliminate the Raiders and Chargers immediately, they will both stink.
Broncos and Chiefs will make playoffs. Broncos will win division.

Wildcard
Chiefs eliminate Bengals
Luck Eliminates Steelers
Div
Brady eliminates Luck
Broncos and Manning end Chiefs season.

And they meet again
AFC Championship
Brady beats Manning
So we can beat Brady in the Superbowl!!!

They still won 9 of their games by more than 2 TDs.

Their defense is not why they threw as much as they did.

JC I agree picking the defensively decimated 49ers over the Seahawks is ridiculous. I do think Denver made the needed changes and they are Superbowl favorites.

At the end of the day you still have Peyton Manning at QB though

He is not a big game producer

In 3 Super Bowls, Manning has a total of 3 TD passes an 4 INTs

Even if Denver makes the Super Bowl, and I think NE beats them, the NFC champ will beat them

Seattle looks like the best team hands down. I see a repeat, but know that is very difficult to do.

3 Super Bowls

3 TD passes

4 INTs

Those are facts

He doesn't play well in the Super Bowl. So OBVIOUSLY one should consider that when making SB predictions

I bet you thought Denver would beat Seattle, right?

How did that work out?

How was Peyton?

No one has ever accused Dilfer of being a producer - let alone a big one. His entire job on that team was to stay out of the way.

Manning's teams have been incredibly reliant on him coming up huge for them to win. The guy is clearly one of the best QBs to ever play the game, but he hasn;t been great in Super Bowls.
