The 50th anniversary of the NFL is supposed to be honoring the previous 49 Super Bowls and featured a lot of rematches of Super Bowls in the regular season.

With the remaining 8 teams there are 16 possible matchups for SB 50. By my count, 9 of those matchups would be repeats.

GB has played all the remaining AFC teams in a SB. KC, NE, Den and Pitt.

Seattle has been to 3 SB vs NE, Pitt and Denver.

CAR has been to 1 SB vs NE.

Ariz has been to 1 SB, vs Pitt.

Is it just me or does this seem like quite a coincidence?

Vikings over Seahawks - 29-17
Packers over Washington

Vikings over Cardinals
Packers over Panthers

Vikings host NFC Championship game, crush the Packers

Chiefs over Texans
Steelers over Bengals

Steelers over Denver
Patriots over Chiefs

Patriots host and beat Steelers AFC Championship game.

Vikings over Patriots in Super Bowl. With a little game planning help from Parcells and Tom Coughlin(I don't know if Zimmer know Coughlin but they are both from the tree, thinking that would be the brain I pick if I was facing Bellicheat in the Super Bowl).

I forgot to update after the Vikings won but lost last week. I stand by my AFC predictions and I think Seattle beats Panthers. Arizona over the Packers.

Seattle over Arizona

Seattle beats New England in Revenge Super Bowl rematch.

Random thoughts on the playoffs.

Seattle was my pick as the best team. Wilson made some fantastic plays, but the 2 picks were too much to overcome. He also missed an easy touchdown to Baldwin in the 2nd half.

Newton is IMO the best player in football. I think Carolina can beat anyone, but their secondary can be exposed.

I would like to see Fitz and Arizona win it all, but just am not sold on them.

Will Brady win another one?

Two WRs topping 6 TDs is feasible. Two topping 967 Yards is very doubtful. Diggs and Treadwell would probably have to be the ones to do it. Asking a rookie and a second year 5th round pick to both get a 1000 yards I would bet against it.

People seem pretty optimistic about the Vikings this coming season, and I think reasonably so. I am probably a little more cautiously optimistic just because the NFL can be pretty unpredictable and I just have a feeling they will fall a little bit short of expectations.

I am curious if people are more hopeful like I am, or do they feel more confidence as far as expecting good results.

I am curious as to what percentage chance do others think of for the Vikes winning the the division ?

I put it at 60/ (percent) Packers, 35 / Vikings, 4 / Bears, and 1 / Lions.

Defense will keep us in most games. If our QB goes down, we could be in big trouble. That was one thing they did not address in the off-season, which is a bit puzzling to me given the importance of the position.

The good news is, the QB's all looked strong last week.

Does a 35 percent chance of winning the division for the Vikings sound about right to you guys and gals, or what percentage would YOU put it at, and why ?

Marty I put it at about 80%. About the only thing that can stop us is injuries. We are just way too far ahead of the rest of the pack IMO.

Tougher schedule, lots of Packers in a contract seasons, bullseye on the back. I say the Packers are a slight favorite.

I think the Packers are going to fall on their face this season.

The signs were beginning to appear last year during the second half of the season. Finger pointing and McCarthy starting to lose the locker room. Coaches wear thin after being the HC of a team for so long.

There is also a disconnect between Erin and McCarthy as well and became evident when Erin was throwing his receivers under the bus to the media.

Packers 7-9 or worse

I'm talking to my Bears fan buddy yesterday. Of course he thinks the Packers are going to be great this year. I ask, "Why, what is so different?" Because they got J Nelson back ... really? They're going to the SB because the got a receiver back?

Very much a crap shoot as to whether Jordy will be Jordy or just another wr.

He hasn't even been able to practice yet although was just taken off the PUP late yesterday.

He tore his acl last preseason. Being 31 I doubt he will be the same guy.

Eddie Lacy is in better shape and Jordy's back.

That is apparently enough to put the pukers over the top.

Nothing else has changed from the team we beat for the NFCN title.

He certainly won't be the uninjured 29-year-old that people remember. He's 2 years downhill, even if he had recovered completely.
